The story is credible and acting well done for the first half. The second half not so good. Vincent and Denton are credible and convincing.
  • I watched the movie and it was ok. The Godfather rated a 9.2 and this movie rates an 8.6. Am I missing something?
  • Warning: Spoilers
Peter (George Vincent), an out-of-work actor, and Ellie (Kristina Denton), a hair-dresser, are a 30-something couple struggling to make it during the 2008-2009 recession in Los Angeles. Their home is being foreclosed on, so they call in all their favors to friends and relatives and start selling off anything they have of value (car, jewelry, stamp album, etc.). After the obligatory health-scare, just as he has scraped enough money to pay off their mortgage, Peter is at his wits-end and experiences a sort of George Bailey (It's a Wonderful Life) awakening, learns to pray again, and everything starts to work out - health scare averted, friends/relatives help, brief visit from a guardian angel, and new work prospects.

As other reviews have noted, the movie's pacing is somewhat slow and the main characters (Peter and Ellie) do not come off as all that sympathetic. However, the movie's message is good and the variety of realistic side characters (mother, best friend, co-workers, bank manager, plucky nurse, and others) keep it interesting. The ending is a little abrupt, but you pretty much know how this type of movie is going to turn-out anyway. The religious tone is just about right, not too preachy, and the turn-around in the couple's fortunes also seems fairly real, as opposed to miraculous. The guardian angel scene is not over-worked, more like a ghostly encounter, and the people that help them seem decent and concerned. The John Savage role is quite brief, so I'm not sure why he's played up so much in the credits.
  • This faith-based film had a redeeming story, however, it had two main weaknesses in my opinion: 1) the pacing, and 2) the charismatic appeal of the lead actors. The former resulted in a very slow and long drawn out development of a plot-line that seemed to move at a snail's pace much of the time and resulted in the reduction of the drama and impact of what should have been a very emotional story. Furthermore, the abyss into which the lead character, Peter, fell should have been much deeper with a much bigger and looming chasm opening up before him.

The latter weakness was highlighted by the fact that John Savage playing Peter's boss Donald and Mike Madrigal playing Peter's best friend Matt were much more engaging personalities in the film than those of the two main starring roles of Peter and his wife Ellie, played by George Vincent and Kristina Denton respectively. Even Peter's mother Sylvia and Ellie's co-worker Jenny were more interesting characters than the two leading roles.

I watched the film and as someone said, it was OK; however, I probably do not have the patience to watch it again. For that I would give it 5 stars, and I add one star because it is a faith-based film, something that in this reviewers opinion more is needed of. In fact it is the only reason for which I watched the movie in the first place. My recommendation - watchable but not remarkable!

I'm sorry but this movie is VERY BORING. I only watched it for half an hour... a very long half an hour. The pacing is incredibly slow. I actually started to fast-forward it, hoping to get to something more exciting. Maybe there is a great message in it but I couldn't watch it long enough to find out. Gave it two stars because there was a brief part that was a little cool.
  • 1h 42min of pure boredom and nochristian message at all
  • I waited with such anticipation for this film, and when I finally saw it, it was absolutely phenomenal. This film is one of those films that hits home in all levels. The actors gave this film so much reality that it touched my heart. I was reminded that people of all walks of life, and statuses encounter many struggles in life. This film is a strong reminder that as humans, we will encounter struggles, but having a great support system can bring you through any struggles of life. This film is about hope, faith, trust, and unity. I saw the level of strength and determination in each actor with each part they played, and each one made an impact in believing in your heart that there is hope to live by and to never give up, no matter what it looks like. I recommend for everyone to gather your family and be encouraged to know that you are not alone and there is a way out of any situation you are going through. It makes a difference sticking together.

    Warning: Spoilers
The acting is really bad. The guy that's the lead needs classes or something. I understand it's faith based but just because you're a Christian doesn't make you an actor.

Then there's the issue of exactly how much of a pathetic husband can you be? His ego is beyond annoying. Humility goes along way. Also, how much are you behind or how much is your mortgage that over $2k I know of, can't help? This is just a poor poor movie in every way.

And all the other reviews are correct. So boring and so slow.
  • This faith based true story, staring George Vincent, Kristina Denton, and John Savage, brings you up close and personal in the struggles of this life journey. It only takes a little faith to receive a miracle. Heavenly Deposit makes a Home Run! We actually felt like we were in the room while these events in the movie were taking place. We felt drawn in, emotional, and encourage by the message. Well written, acted, and directed. I'm telling everyone that we highly recommend Heavenly Deposit as it is true encouragement for everyone. True to life and the miracles from Heaven. Must See Movie. Go get your copy today. You won't regret it!! CJ & Matt Dunkle

Starts off very slow and actors don't seem to click so it all feels forced. Then it starts to get more believable and actors begin to feel more relatable. But then like so many faith based movies they say the magic prayer, God becomes a vending machine and even though there is still things to wrap up in the plot, they rush to the end as if they forgot they needed to write an ending and so they just quickly threw it together. It became forced acting again leaving you disappointed as it had so much potential. Everyone else left the room within the first 30 minutes but I unfortunately stayed until the end.

This is one of the best Christian movies that I've seen! This movie was not only realistic, it showed the real life struggle of the main character, Péter, who lost faith in God as a child due to the death of his father, to rediscovering the Risen Jesus through life's trials and tribulations! God was speaking to Peter his whole life but Peter wasn't listening! It took Peter to almost lose everything, showing truly how powerless he was, and how when we put faith in God, the Lord was there, faithful to redeem, and dedicated to guide. Peter's wife, along with his mother never lost faith in Peter coming to know Jesus, and in the end, Peter ended up realizing the beauty and joy of his Heavenly Deposit... giving his heart to God! There's so much more to this movie and I don't want to spoil it! God is still in the miracle business, and being this movie is based on real life events of George Vincent, who plays Peter, you'll see true miracles that inspire in the film!

Heavenly Deposit Is Such A Heartfelt Movie That Touched My Life And My Husbands Life In More ways Than one. Several Points Really Hits Home. It's A Movie I Will definitely Watch Over And Over!!!
  • Heavenly Deposit is an amazing film and done so beautifully. My copy came today and I just finished watching. It's beyond words. I hoped it would be as good as the reviews, and I have to say it was so much more. From the first moment to the end it kept me so enthralled. I couldn't even stop to go to the bathroom. Embarrassing to admit but it's just that good. I believe this movie will not just touch your heart but will help you see things God is actually doing for each of us in every moment if we just stop let go and look. I feel recharged. I can't think of a better way to explain what it has done for me. Life can be hard. We all know that. Knowing were not alone in our struggles is comforting. This movie has given comfort and an inner peace of hope. I believe it will for you too. So grateful it was made for us all to enjoy. 🙏🙏🙏❤
  • Heavenly Deposit is a must see, delightfully heartwarming faith based, and family friendly feature film that will surely make you hope, smile and cry. A DVD that is a must to own for any home library. A must see!

    Bravo! A Delightfully Heartwarming Film
  • I absolutely loved the film. I could relate to Peter in so many ways. My wife and I have had a few of those discussions from the film and we're still having them 😂. I cried a few times. Believe it or not but his film increased my faith in God and what He wants to do through me in Hollywood. It was great to see Bob in the film. Bravo my friend bravo!
  • I had been waiting for the release of this movie. The wait was well worth it!! If you've ever doubted the power of Gods faith, love and grace you're not alone. He is faithful and he is love! When you think you have things in control and fail it's hard to believe that God is there. HE IS!!! I'm a testament to his grace. I related to this movie in so many levels. Heavenly Deposit reminds you of how loved we by our Heavenly Father. We just need to "let go and let God..." LOVE the movie and have watched it at least twice a week since purchasing it! Stellar performance by George Vincent👏🏼👏🏼

    Praise the Lord

I have watched this movie a couple of times. I was impressed because of the Directors view. The way the story was portrayed was outstanding. I have seen other faith based movies and I must say this is one of my favorites and I recommend it .
  • I couldn't wait till this film was out! This was definitely a good faith based movie. I say that everyone can relate to this movie because we all go through hard times. But it's people around us that God uses to get back in track. This movie reminds us that we can't do things on our own, always call on Jesus!
  • A delightfully heartwarming tale beautifully told and presented on film. A must see faith based and family friendly film for the entire family
  • Excellent script and well acted. A movie many of us can relate to. Miracles do happen when you least expect it. A huge bravo to the cast and crew.
