Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire and France are surrounded by the German Army, and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.
Christopher Nolan investigated silent films to infuse crowd scenes with suspense by using details only, given the minuscule presence of dialogue in the film.
Well done lads. Well done.
Alex: All we did is survive.
Blind Man: That's enough.
The movie uses silence to create tension, where Dunkirk was actually extremely noisy due to the continual attacks on both the men, and the port of Dunkirk to keep it out of action. Most soldiers had sore throats from having to shout to be heard.
The Warner Bros. logo at the beginning of the film is light blue.
