This show doesn't try to accomplish anything remarkable, but for the type of show it's trying to be it does an exceptional job. The characters have spice, spunk, moxie - something you rarely ever find in t.v. or movies today and that is where this show is leaps and bounds ahead of most of what's out there. T.V. is too full of the same tired formulas used over and over with characters that are just painfully p.c. It's so refreshing to see writers break away from this stale mold particularly in the area of writing characters with interesting personalities. I hope this show continues to stay fresh and that more writers adopt this style of character development.

This is a great show with well developed characters and a good plot. Love Joe who was also great in 800 Words. So looked forward to Season 2 however a great disappointment. Seems they were reaching; some plots a bit unbelievable like Arianna falling for Joe Jr. Fast forwarded through to the end but was not surprised when it was renewed for season 3.
I pray that this comes back for another season. I watched it on Hulu 3 times. I then made my husband watch it as well. Loved every character. This is why I am dying to find more great Aussie/ NZ shows. They seem to be hitting it out of the park with good dramas ( inc. Rake). I pray that stupid American TV does not try to pick it up and dummy it down with American actors.
Amazing amazing show! Twists and turns at every episode keeping all watchers at the edge of their seats constantly. Every character has their own dramas which are beautifully inter-weaved together to form a wonderful story. Great writers and producers, not to mention the directing! The music and sound is amazingly adapted to the show, which adds to the intensity and surprise of the show. All actors are widely chosen and play the parts wonderfully. All very intense yes realistic set in a strangely familiar and typical New Zealand Auckland environment. I started watching it since the first episode and now I'm addicted, but very happily so! Would highly recommend since it is full of surprises. Generally a great drama show! I believe it is the best NZ show yet!!
Currently on season 2. Hoping for a season 3. Such a great show! Full of twists and major suspense!

I enjoyed it at first, it looked like it was going somewhere, but then it got side-tracked in the free sex for just about all! Brady was having sex from her personal trainer and is now busy bedding the father of her daughter's friend (who is busy trying to have a lesbian relationship with said daughter) Cherry having sex with Vader (who really wants to have sex with Savannah)Savannah having sex with the odious "Snake" Joe having sex with the set up girl he "rescued", then the mad blonde with the rich Daddy, and also his almost virginal fiancée (who then has sex with John Junior)and of course John junior who is having sex from Brady's personal trainer, and the workman on the poor people's housing, and then Arianna but mostly seems to be having the most sex with himself, with just a bit too much masturbating even though the show is on at 8.30 pm is it really necessary to see THAT much?? However, it did give the three male characters lots of opportunities for being standing around in their underwear!!

Season I, Ep 2. I don't get why the illegitimate kids are played as Latin but the bio parents are Caucasian. I can't get past it because in Ep 1, there was a scene between two of the illegitimates where their personal struggles as latins was addressed. Was the original casted bio dad supposed to be Latino but something came up and they cast a white dude?
