Ten years before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise, the USS Discovery discovers new worlds and lifeforms as one Starfleet officer learns to understand all things alien.
Every episode of Discovery, from its third onward, will make its world premiere in Canada. Space will broadcast the series on Sunday night at 8 pm ET, 30 minutes before the episode appears on CBS All Access in the United States.
In the TNG episode, "Homeward," Captain Picard believed saving a race whose planet was doomed, but had not yet made interstellar contact, would violate the Prime Directive. This series starts with Burnham and Georgiou saving a doomed race with no mention of the Prime Directive. However, a later episode does mention "Order One", which seems to be a precursor to the Prime Directive. Obviously, it has evolved over the century separating Discovery from TNG.
