    Warning: Spoilers
After an endless wait the war begins, of course you have to wait 7 months to continue. good points: the preparation for the climax of the episode is very good. The soundtrack is fantastic. The episode maintains tension at all times and manages to prepare us for battle. Sasha's death had an incredible and fantastic great construction. I liked the flashbacks and they were well placed. The best thing about the episode is when Rick and Carl are kneeling and deny talking to them. the tension, the acting, the dialogue, the direction were spectacular, you felt that something was going to happen, you knew something was coming. I loved the final speech and it made me want to see the next season. bad points: rick and the others believe dwight and leave him. the final battle seemed to me something regular. The episode built this moment but the battle was disappointing. the address was very poor, the action sequences were bad and the battle made no sense. The biggest mistake was the lack of an address that helps, because in the end everything is confusing and ends up boring.
  • It was a great episode , Sashas drama , Eugenes also , Duetis , there were a nice trick , but at least it is not the best episode at TWD , and for sure not the best at this season , but also it was one of the bests

Many people can't learn to move on, Life is a changing thing, I couldn't imagine years ago how the world will change to be what its now, but we as human can acclimate and move on. The show is not the same as it was on season 1 or 2, and this is not a bad thing, it started as a pure zombie show, till the point the main cast got used to deal with zombies/walkers that they almost make no threat, well its not resident evil, So the show won't get an evolved form, and it tries its best to be kind of realistic (even though it can't be all the time, an example of this season is shiva being able to detect the enemy from the allies). Well back to the important point, the show is still doing great for me, and the same goes for people that I know, and I don't mind another season like this at all, just no cliffhangers like the one in season 6, the cliffhanger on this season is pretty good.

Walking dead will continue to walk on this route for the next season diffidently, so if season 7 was not your cup of tea, its the time to move to another cafe, rather than raining it with unneeded sighs.

I gave the episode 10 stars, just to balance out some of the (to me surprising) negative reviews. As one other reviewer noted, give the action-junkies a handkerchief to wipe their tears.

I loved everything about Sasha's scenes, I'm glad they let her go out the way she did. I mean, imagine having the bravery to take that bloody pill.

As for the fight (GREAT job on the music btw. Gave me goosebumps), Negan did not count on anyone else putting up resistance, which is my explanation why the other teams were able to get so close without anyone noticing. Of course, there were some loopholes (like the tiger knowing which people to attack), but that did not take away the viewing pleasure for me!

Oh, and I was glad to see Rick having some of his old fighting spirit back when talking back to Negan.
  • Maybe you people hating on the show didn't binge watch it like I am. I suggest rewatching the shows from the time you left off. I get they can move slow but this episode was amazing! Any negative reviews are unwarranted!
  • Warning: Spoilers
Having reviewed TWD as a whole in relation to the first 6 Seasons, I'm doing a brief review of this episode in the context of the way it rounds off Season 7. My criticism at the end of the 6 was that the show seemed to think little or nothing at all about the longer-term future of its characters and their world, and that life on an island off the coast is a so-obvious option that Rick's not thinking about it for 6 seasons looked just ludicrous! Happily, the makers of Season 7 chose to take up both issues, though the "eye on the future" part was primarily (though not quite only) about finding a way to overcome the evil despotism of Negan and his "Saviours".

In this way, TWD did indeed take a slightly new tack in Season 7, with its Mediaeval-cum-Lord-of-the-Rings-like (or at times Seven Samurai-like) ideas of peaceable communities of good guys coming together to remove the evil from the world once and for all. Obviously, this reached a crescendo (though NOT a definitive conclusion!) in the Episode-16 battle scene, which brings us botch-ups, changes of side and various other tricks up the sleeve, but most of all convinces (as the Last Battle in LOTR convinces) in its portrayal of people now ready to die in large numbers to have one last crack at selflessly ridding the world of an enormous evil. It's quite moving and intense at this point, even if irrational acts are sometimes taking place, and the opportunities for "friendly fire" in the melee at Alexandria are set at about 99.7%!

Sasha's not dying in vain does the trick for the characters and also for us, so she went out in some style, if taking some time to do so! Indeed, this final episode stands in contrast to the rest of the series, which epitomised an aspect I did criticise at the end of Season 6 - the achingly slow pace at which TWD moves forward! (Perhaps we somehow like it this way, and all this was once pages of a comic book after all, but there ARE LIMITS!)

Of course, Episode 1 of Season 7 was NOT exactly slow (though even it was kind of slow, in its way), but that had its own problems with probably the highest level of gory violence ever seen on TV. But perhaps not actually gratuitous, given the context. On the plus side, the tortoiselike pace of 7 did occasionally give us a chance for interesting character developments, especially with Dwight, Negan's wives, Eugene (a great comedian!!) and Carl.

In contrast, Rick is going almost nowhere, and looks a dull dog indeed when set against his nemesis Negan. Evil though the b*****d may indeed be, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of the psychopath is superb, and represents the PRIMARY reason for sticking with Season 7 - up to and including in this final instalment!

However, we really, really don't want more than, say, 3-4 episodes in Season 8 to be about getting even with Negan. After all, that was the purpose of Season 7, right? So let's just get the guy out the way in an appropriate enough manner and then move on to something else for the rest of 8, shall we?
  • As you may know already AMC gives The Walking Dead a stupidly low budget of around 3 million per episode. Which is very low for a show as big as TWD. This season some of the actors received a raise from 90k to 600k+. So staying with the same budget as the previous seasons won't cut it for this season, and they absolutely didn't cut it.

Every episode had to be separate they couldn't put multiple locations in one episode because it would cost AMC too much. They needed to have many episodes focusing on the much cheaper actors and only a single location per episode instead of multiple locations split in the episode with more of the main cast.

Even the CGI this season was awful remember that junkyard background or that weird deer with the BS shadow.

This season was not building up to the lackluster finale or even the next season. This season was just filler and extended filler so AMC could make more money by putting more commercials in. Even though they already earn about 20million per episode.
  • This episode is highly underrated and was a great masterpiece of action and artistic drama, not the type that bores you, but the type that keeps you engaged with the story.

Many of you watching are upset because the show has changed but I (and many others) like this change. If you don't like it anymore, stopping leaving negative reviews just for the joy of it.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Don't understand all the low ratings! Of course it's not going to be all done and dusted by the end...but it was tense, thrilling, and fairly satisfying. The conniving weird Jadis (who has clearly had access to some sharp hairdressing scissors 😂) just really needs to die.

What happened to Sasha was pure genius.. I believe she's only the third one we've seen as a walker (after Merle and Hershal) and it was fitting at the end when they went looking for her.

The final words from Maggie were so emotional - my daughter and I were in tears.

Genius acting again from Andrew and Jeffery. The scene when they're up close was just stunning.

Loved the bit where Darryl finds Dwight's soldier.. I now hope he doesn't get killed off in the next series as I think he's a good character to keep. Especially if his wife reappears.

We've watched all 7 series in 3 months and now I need to prepare for some serious withdrawal symptoms! I'll just have to watch my new box set instead.

Just superb brilliant and fabulous and long may it continue.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Some great emotional moments - finally Rick and the communities are making their stand - how can it not be great!? Sasha's final scenes are brilliant as is Eugene but I feel it is let down very similar to the mid-end of the last season - a climactic battle like this needs more fatalities - that amount of gun fire how are people not dropping dead (especially as most of our heroes have guns trained on them and they also just walk around ignoring cover).

Worse of all though is ANOTHER FAKEOUT DEATH SCENE. Please please please STOP DOING THIS - you are fooling no body and it just destroys the trust that we the audience have in the story - if we can't believe what is portrayed to be happening then we don't emotionally invest. I really hope they stop doing this next season!

The other communities showing up when they did, just in the nick of time was cheesy (I was actually hoping they would have to courage to kill Karl even though I like him), but even though couldn't help but cheer.

And best of all - we finally see Shiva in action - unbelievable though it was - how did she know the difference between Saviours and good guys? Still been waiting to see her in action - hope we get to see her chewing through a zombie horde next season.

    • SPOILER ALERT -

First of all, I'm being waaaaaaaay too generous giving this episode a 2. The only reason why I'm giving it a 2 star is because Sasha is gone and that's praise worthy.

Anyhow, what the hell is wrong with the writing, directing, and management of this show?

I literally had to skip 10 minutes of it because it's Sasha high on acid tripping about her dyed ass dead redhead in the most boring conversation of all time. Every time they showed her face with those headphones, I started skipping cause I just couldn't take anymore of pointless, meaningless dialogue.

Then when it finally gets to some action, it's the most ridiculous battle I've ever seen in movie/series history. So here's Rick's group, surrounded by enemies at all fronts, outnumbered like 3 to 1, but somehow, because Zombie Sasha tries to get it on with Negan, all of Rick's foes are suddenly stunned and unable to fire. So Rick's group goes out shooting in every direction without anyone shooting back.

Then they finally get surrounded as it would naturally happen, and suddenly, unnoticed, like 50 people with a god damn tiger come in without anyone noticing, again, shooting in every direction and everyone of the like 5 different factions there knows exactly who to hit, without any friendly fire. Not only that, they just stand in a line of fire wide open, like it's one of those 1700's battles.

And even tho Negan has his window rolled down in his truck and has his arm sticking giving everyone the finger, none of the like 50 people shooting the damn truck is able to even come close.

Well, summarizing. This was the worst action scene I've seen in a very long time. I can't even think of something worst right now.

I tried very hard to give this show a break, but it's no use. Millions of dollars of budget for CGI gunfire (not even like dummy ammo), poorly organized scenes, terrible dialogues, and horrible, HORRIBLE, acting. I mean, some exceptions on acting, but mostly horrible.

How dare does anyone compare this show to Game of Thrones? This hardly compares to Bollywood movies.
  • I don't know what to say about season 7, but that episode sums up everything that was this season: dramatic, totally new, expanding our ideas when it comes to the show and making us, after finishing the episode, overthinking and getting crazy. This was definitely not the best season ever, BUT on the other hand, showed us how the universe of TWD is unlimited, how creative and amazing this distopia is. And if you don't understand that, you'll be that boring person who gets stuck in the past.

    Warning: Spoilers
It had some good moments, it had some bad moments, but we need more than one major death on a season finale these days. The Saviors are supposed to be worse than any other bad guy and yet we're not really seeing that. Negan is not giving people much of a reason to fear him.

It wasn't bad, but for a season finale I expect more.
  • Seriously, what happened? The writing was outstanding for the first five seasons. It was mediocre in season 6, but in season 7 it has been nearly unwatchable. Every episode was a slow, drawn-out ordeal, each of which could have been combined into a single 45-minute show that might have been at least distracted me from scrolling through my Facebook feed. You could have watched the first three episodes and skipped to the finale and not missed anything. I held out for the final episode hoping it would bring some closure, but all it brought was more banal dialog, time-filling flashbacks, and inaction. There was a fight scene that lasted eight minutes and resolved nothing. It's possible the entire season was written by a computer algorithm.

Anyway I still give the last dozen episodes three stars for the great acting and direction, but with the writing as bad as it's been it doesn't deserve any more than that. Too bad such a good show has deteriorated into just another mediocre advertising platform.

This is going to be my first review on IMDb, but I´m visiting this site pretty much everyday, checking on recent movie and TV ratings. Most of the time, the ratings are pretty accurate and do fit my opinion and even if they don´t I usually understand them, considering the reviewers perspective. But this time, I feel like I have to write one by myself, just to make clear, that the current ratings on the Walking Dead are just a misrepresentation of this - to this point - still great TV-Show. It is a big issue to me, because all these recent negative ratings almost lead to me leaving the show I followed for years, because I was afraid, season 7 would ruin my view on one of my favorite shows. Finally, I gave it a shot, more than 2 years to late, but MAN, LUCKILY I DID. This season didn´t ruin the show, maybe season 8 will, but that s up to another review; For now I´m going to explain, why I think, most of the reviews are misleading and misrepresentating the quality of The Walking Dead season 7.

I love all of the seasons of the Walking Dead, because they were all different on their own, showing of different perspectives of this future world each. I love Season 1 because of the never ending tension in every single episode and the flawless introduction into this world of horror and the characters dealing with it; each one differently. I love season 2 because of the great character developments and the fact, that it shows us, that there are no pure good and evil characters in this world. Everyone can get corrupted by this new way of living, being able to turn on each other every minute. I love season 3 because of the Governor, being one of the best TV villains of all time, the BIG deaths, that showed us that no one is safe and the revelation, that not the walkers are the big threat in this world - humans are. I love season 4 because it has probably the best written Episode of the entire show with "Too far gone" but especially I love it for the second half, where you can follow each character surviving on their own. They never had to do that before, and it´s amazing to watch them rising and fighting and crying, just to finally be reunited again. I love season 5 because in this one, the differences between good and evil disappear completely. It throws big moral questions at the viewers, seeing their beloved characters becoming close to everything they were fighting against up to this point. And then, trying to adapt to something which comes close to "The world before" again. I love season 6 because in my opinion, it has the highest amount of awesome episodes in it. Sure, the last episode is just bull, but the first four are just insanely good, followed up by more great ones like "No way out" ore "Not tomorrow yet". Also, this one is not about finding a new shelter anymore, but about binding together as a society, creating a new way of living. AND FINALLY I LOVE season 7 because it shows us a complete new approach. It s about the different ways people started to live in this world. The way of just wandering around, hoping to survive somehow is over at this point. People have to stick together in societies and it´s very interesting to see, how everyone does it differently. And of course, there are people who are trying to take advantages of this, in this case the so called "Saviours" who promise safety and peace for some kind of taxes and respect. Seems plausible to me. When you watch the ratings of IMDb, you see a steep decline in ratings after Episode 7x01, and there are different reasons why but I´m trying to explain now, why I think, that this is not necessairily due to a lack of quality of the show. I´m going to take the seasons finale as an example, but the review is about the whole season in general. If you would just watch the episode without having heard about anything about TWD before, you sure wouldn´t get what is going on, but you would see an action packed, intense hour of television full of twists, fighting, betrayal, death, shocks and a amazing CGI Tiger killing a bunch of people. Sure, the realism is not perfect in this one but you would probably agree with me, that it was entertaining as hell. So why is this episode currently at a rating of 7.6 while no episode in season 2 has a rating as low as this, even if season 2 is considered kinda dull by many viewers containing a lot of episodes with NO action, NO deaths and nothing important happening in particular? I think, it´s because the expectations of the people, watching the show have changed over the years. When TWD started in 2010, streaming services like Netflix, Amazon etc. were in their bay shoes so people relied on cables like AMC, HBO etc. to release new episodes of your favorite shows every week or so. Today, there are millions of other shows just a click away, so when you get bored for only about 10 minutes, you just click away and watch sth else. So in the shows released today, every episode has to be action-packed from start to finish. There s no more slow storytelling, because most of the people watching are no more interested in that. Considered masterpieces like The Sopranos or The Wire would have no chance on Netflix anymore and would probably be canceled after 2 seasons. So what happened with TWD? When I watch the reviews of the season 7 episodes, most of them are about the slow pace. People don´t like the storytelling of showing a few people only each episode. I think that is interesting in particular, because you can understand different motivations, emotions and actions of each character this way, before all of the storylines are wired together in the final episodes of each season. Sure, some of these so called fillers are less interesting ore intellingent as others but guess what, every classic TV-show has stronger and weaker episodes. Even the first 6 seasons of GoT (don´t get me started with season 7 and 8) have fillers which slow the story down a little and which are supposed to make the characters more interesting. And TWD has always had them, but people didn´t complain as much about them as they´re doing in season 7. But why? I think many people just want the show to be bad and turn on the TV thinking "Yeah, it´s going to be bad, so I´m going to complain later on the internet, because that´s the trend now" because they are frustrated about the season 6 cliffhanger (which SURE was bad). No matter how good the episode was, they´re going to tell themselves it sucked. When there was a calm episode, reviews were full of people saying "Man,so boring nothing happened, i wish they would fight more!". When they got a lot of fighting like in this one, the reviews were all about "This kind of fighting is boring, they didn´t kill Negan, main characters don´t die bla bla..." When a main character dies they say "Why do they kill them of just like that?" and so on. Over the last seasons, many complained, that the plot always followed the sime kind of story about searching a safe haven which eventually gets destroyed somehow, In this season, they came up with an entirely new approach for the story and they kept complaining about that as well, instead of acknowledging this for once. They re never satisfied, because they don´t want to be. If you take this episode, the whole season built of to this climax and it is resolved perfectly in my opinion...in earlier seasons, this episode would have probably gotten in the 8.5+ ratings, considered how many episodes got these ratings before. When people complain about the writing, they often compare it to GoT, which is a pretty unfair comparison in my opinion, considering that the writers of GoT can choose from some of the most complex fantasy books of all time, while the writers of TWD have to relie on Comic Books (they re good though). The writing of GoT is ingenious in the first seasons, but you saw what it came to, when they ran out of book material. So I think the TWD writers did a pretty good job in general. Sure, the fighting in this one seems a little bit to easy for the heroes, being outnumbered etc. but when you think about it it´s not that poorly written: The Saviours purely and stupidly follow their leaders orders, so when he is attacked by an unexpected walker, it s reasonable to me that they have a short moment of insecurity, which the group of Alexandria can use for their andvantage. The trash people on the other hand don´t like Negan any more than they like Rick. They just care about being on the winner´s team. So when the people of Alexandria start getting the "high ground" their will to fight to the death is broken by the circumstances. The fact that the tiger can distinguish good people from the evil ones comes in handy of course, but considering that Ezeekiel is able to train it to walk next to him like a dog makes it much more believable that he can train it to fight certain people as well. And come on, in the end this is still entertainment, based on a comic book so I think it´s fair to turn the realism down a little for the sake of entertainment.

I think that does it for me, all I want to say is that I loved Season 7, I loved this finale in particular and I hope that the reviews of season 8 are even as misleading as the ones of season 7. Don´t let the negative reviews scare you into stop watching like they did scare me for two years. I always watched on DVD and I´m gonna buy the season 8 DVD just tomorrow, because I´m thrilled to find out how the story will continue. Thank you very much for reading.

I loved this episode, from start till maybe the part with Sasha was a but boring, but for me it didn't take anything from the episode. I loved all this season and The fight was amazing, such a great way to end a great season, I love how this show changed from being just about Zombies to a show that brings more complexity, more drama, I am a huge fan of how things changed and keep changing...
  • Warning: Spoilers
I pondered a lot before I wrote this review. Actually, I do not like writing a review but I do spare some time to read and mark YES if they are satisfactory to me. I only marked NO to those I completely disagreed with.

However this is an exception now. Its unbelievable and ridiculous how there are lots of negative reviews about this another outstanding and amazing episode of TWD.

Oh, It is a terrific finale!

It is a brilliant delivery with its poetic title 'The first day of the rest of your life'

This is a systematic build up that allows the characters to come together, especially, original Ricks group, king Ezekiel group and Hilltop to daringly challenge the Saviors. Though, it is predictable that the Garbage people will become traitors from their behaviors which is right from the time Rick and co. met them but it is still not disappointing.

To those saying the finale is disappointing. Are they expecting Negan to die quickly and easily? No. It can not be because he is a paradox. Is the death of Sasha or the way she sacrificed herself for her group is not heroic enough? Is the Tiger's sudden and strikingly jump that terrifies Negan and smashes away Lucille from him delivering Carl from imminent blow of death is not a superb treat?

Those long minutes of terrific animosities and gun crazy actions are very good to me with the emotions they carries. Common mates, I am not expecting an armoured tank in this finale because there is no prison wall to be blown off this time around.

Though we don't see much zombie actions in this season we should be aware that zombies, to me, are now puns in the game the major problems now are the livings not the deads.

I gave 10/10. It is still one of the best TV series from my honest perspective.
  • So many kids and stupid people rate 1/10 season 7 episodes because they cant accept that rick IS NOT the most powerful man in that world. This is walking dead and is not spiderman kids

"That widow is alive, guns-a-blazing!" - I swear to god, I can't put up with this guy...

I had 40% of the goosebumps I expected to have, but I guess it's difficult to manage so many characters and reunions in a limited runtime. Sasha's demise was pretty epic, and her final dream chat with Maggie was a nice touch. Other than that, the build-up for the Annual Intercommunity Face-off with Negan didn't meet my expectations. But that's not gonna stop me from enjoying the show.

Worse than a low budget Indian movie. Absolutely laughable.

Great episode. Wonderful writing, outstanding acting and terrific plot. So many great moments in this episode and it was really wonderful to see Micheal Culditz again. No 1, The flashbacks to Abraham's and Sacha's last moments in their home were so touching and romantic. Three hankie weepy to really p*ss off the adolescent male action junkies and to warm the heart of the adult fans.

No 2, Rick and Michonne getting all discomfited and embarrassed at Jadis' advances. You could see their thoughts written all over their faces, no way lady...get lost.

No 3, Sasha taking control of her life and death and taking out that 0 Savior who gave Enid a hard time at Hilltop as well. Bonus points for scaring the sh*t out of Negan as well. Goodbye Sasha, enjoy your afterlife with the people you loved and lost.

No 4, The tiger. What more can you say...nothing. It was great.

No 5, the callbacks to earlier Seasons and the tribute to Glen. This was the best Finale in years.

Last but not least, the bad-assery of Carl. Do not mess with Carl...ever.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This was overall an incredibly boring episode for the most part. This season fell very quickly. The start of the season was fantastic however it never achieved its full potential afterwards. This episode was one I looked to as a a chance to actually end this season with a bang and it absolutely did not deliver. Spoilers will being now. The biggest problem with this episode is mainly the Sasha flashbacks. They could have been covered in about 5-10 minutes but instead were taking up space throughout the episode. The walking dead's biggest weakness is its inability make secondary characters worth caring about. A perfect example is the Terra episode of this season. It was by far the worst episode of the show because it made us waste time watching an entire episode on a character as interesting as a damn potato(which is not that interesting because it is a just a potato). I mean I enjoyed Sasha as a character but not enough to be willing to sit through her fantasies for a good chuck of the episode. Her death also didn't strike a chord with me at all because of how predictable it was. This leads me to my next point which is that this show to incredibly predictable now. Not once in this episode was I shocked by the outcome. Sasha's death was a given the second we saw her first fantasy(major death flag). The scavengers betrayal was obvious because Negan's crew wasn't about to die in such a anticlimactic fashion. Finally Shiva and the Kingdom Ex- Machina was the most predictable thing ever along with the Michonne death fake out. A death off screen for a major character like Michonne is not gonna happen. On a side note, I am a Negan fanboy, so when Negan pulled back his swing on Carl I was kinda disappointed but once again, it was predictable. The last about 15 minutes were good and enjoyable. Shiva owning is finally good to see and I love seeing Maggie with power, however, that was all not enough to redeem the rest of the episode. Another note, which may just be me, is that with today's episode I noticed that the action sequence was honestly kind of a mess. My favorite action sequence on a TV series is the Game of Thrones hard home episode in season 5. A lot was going on to get you heart pounding however as a viewer I knew what was happening. This episode was mainly just scenes of shooting guns. The cool parts were Shiva take downs and Morgan killing with his staff but other than that the fight was anti- climatic and boring. In season 6 there was a scene where Rick and gang went rage mode on the walkers that infiltrated Alexandria and that is a perfect example of what action sequences should be like in this show. If the rest of the war was to play out like this episode then I am not looking forward to it. To finish this off, the final scenes with the two sides gearing up for war was epic and got me pumped and that was executed very well. Overall my biggest complaint for this episode was that the majority of it was a snooze fest that didn't do much to build up to the epic ending it delivered. The episode would have been better if the episode was less Sasha focused and more about what is happening on each side of this soon to be war. I hope season 8 doesn't disappoint and can deliver solid suspense and action with the war but until then I'm gonna have to give this finale and season a 6/10. Honestly I believe that 16 episodes is too long for a season in this show. If it were ten episodes, things would move at a much better pace and the story wouldn't seem so dragged out, but that won't happen so its only a thought.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Sorry if this is too long, i don't write much reviews but i had to do it for this one... if you want the short review of this just scroll down to the final conclusion(+/-)

Last season's finale had the potential to be the best episode of the walking dead and that ending(before the cliffhanger) was terrifying, had perfect horror elements: the woods, whistling was creepy as hell, main characters on their knees, 0 chance to escape, that one dude with a chainsaw, and they messed that up perfectly with a sweet cliffhanger!.

anyone else thinks they did the same stupid thing as they did last season?? or am i the only one to notice that?? - oh lesbian doctor gets killed in an ambush, 1 episode later Daryl goes to "avenge" her by going after them even tho there are lots of them and probably waiting to see if anyone comes back and WHAT A SURPRISE they DO come back, yelling and arguing in the very same location where they fought not so long ago, like 12 hours before. = dumb writing for the story line where they get "caught" by the saviors

same thing this season, oh i'm Ro-Si-TA-H, i'm a bad b-1tch i want to kill Negan and Sasha will help me, but instead of playing the assassin role I,Sasha the sniper girl will not wait Negan to come out later and shoot him from the safe distance, that's dumb! I BETTER run into their base like a headless chicken... yeah that a great plan!!! = same dumb writing for the story line where she gets "caught"

okay lets get to this episode... this season was supposed to be full of character development and this build up to a war right?but deep down we all know that s7 is slow and dumb and lazy in writing = disappointing

but we expected a BANG for this finale, episode was mostly alright for the 40 minutes if we exclude boring flashbacks, come on if you gonna bring the dude back at least make it interesting or funny not boring as hell... shoot out scenes were executed so badly i don't know how that managed to slip away when they were editing that....

How did they sank this low in directing?? they really don't care anymore do they???, i want everyone who reads this to re-watch that fight again(if you didn't DVR'd it or something you can probably see it on YouTube, i'm sure someone uploaded it) and tell me i'm wrong, there was at least 10 ways Carl/Rick could've been wounded/shot by saviors, please watch that again even in slow motion to SEE HOW BAD IT REALLY IS, well at least 80% of it.

i really loved Shiva there, that was nicely done, she saved that episode a bit

my final conclusion: i feel like this episode should have been longer, more talking with Dwight, more preparation, more dialogues between Rick and Jadis to spice up the twist a bit more, and more fighting.

    + Shiva

+ Maggie and Sasha flashback to s5 when they were watching the sunrise

    + Maggie's narrating speech

+ Garbage people twist(predictable but at least they did that right)

+ set up for a much bigger war

    • poorly executed fight(possibly the worst one in this show)

    • cheesy(or as some would say "cringy") King Ezekiel

    • all the build up this season, for what??? ... a ~10 minute fight?

    • short length for this kind of episode

    • very V E R Y predictable ending where kingdom comes to save the day

i give it a 4 only because of Shiva and Maggie's speech

as i already said this season is the lowest point in this show but there were still memorable episodes like: 7x01, 7x03, 7x08, 7x09 and 7x15

this show became way too predictable, there is no suspense anymore, stuff to let us wonder(except Heath and Sherry), no horror element, violence was toned down for season 7(after like the first 2 or 3 episodes) this season is the lowest point for the show, i hope it recovers, i really do
  • Warning: Spoilers
Season 7 is finally over. The time has come to reflect and remember what has happened this season. Sadly, not much has happened. If you ask yourself if there is anything to bring from this season you won't find much at all. There are no re-watchable episodes from season 7 if you ask me. It is very disappointing as Season 6 wasn't that satisfying either, especially not the finale. That time, they built the entire second half of season 6 just for a final moment that we didn't get to see and why? So that we could discuss who died? If they had shown it then it would have been a way better episode but season 7 still would have been the same quality.

Instead they decided to make the first episode of season 7 what the finale of season 6 should have been. The thing is that the first episode of season 7 is in fact the best this season. While we are surprised to see two deaths it's still a very good episode with great acting and good pacing. Howewer they really screwed everything up with the second episode of the season when they decided to exclude every character from the first episode and focus on Carol & Morgan and it is extremely boring. And what do they do in the 3rd episode? Yes, now it's a Daryl episode, go on just exclude the interesting stuff! Daryl is a popular character but it is wrong to give him a stand alone episode.

So the main character Rick and the others finally return in the 4th episode around when you have forgotten what happened the last time due to pointless filler in the two previous episodes. Sadly it's not great in episode 4 and it's just Negan that carries everything just like he does the entire season.

The other four episodes before the winter break are kind of forgettable, we are given a 49 minute episode with Tara in the lead, because that was necessary and she is the most interesting character in the show, right? Here lies the shows biggest issue from season 6 & 7. The story only moves sideways. 16 are too many episodes and they don't have enough storytelling for so many episodes so we're given a lot of filler and stand alone episodes with characters who are not near good enough to carry on for 45 plus minutes. Why not have episodes with jumping around with scenes from the Hilltop, Alexandria and the Kingdom for example? Those episodes are always the best.

So what happened in the second half of season 7? Not much. Yet again it is ALL building for the next season with the big war that will probably not deliver. Episode 9 was alright but it didn't exactly move the story forward. Episode 10 was just weird, where they meet some junkyard group that I don't even think are in the comics. Why include them? Their point of the season was only to betray in the finale. Hopefully they'll have some function eventually.

Then we get a full Eugene episode and the only thing that really happens is that the Kingdom joins in fighting the Saviors, oh and Sasha decides to kill Negan. She fails. Yes Negan is a man that I can understand that she wants to kill but I have really started to question 'our heroes'. Are they really the good guys? Remember last season in the episode 'Not Tomorrow Yet' when our heroes decides to go to a Saviors outpost and basically kill everyone. They murder people in their sleeps that episode and according to Walking Dead Wikia they kill 24 Saviors only in that episode. 24! Imagine if the Saviors decided to kill 24 characters, there would be no one left. Instead Negan killed two people, yes they were two main characters but I say that is merciful of Negan because the group that we are following killed at least 35 saviors last season. Negan killed two and both the main characters and fans say that he is just the worst. I think that Rick is a better person than Negan but I think it's fair that compare Rick with the Governor. He just wanted to live peacefully at Woodbury until our main characters ruined everything for him. Is Rick really someone to root for?

Now for the season finale. I have seen that it hasn't been received well and I can understand that people are disappointed. With all the building from this season and this is what we are given. For me it has been clear for some time that they're building for season 8. But as a regular episode I kind of liked it, I think it's one of the better this season. The structure of the episode was great with every cast member being in it except for two just like I wan't it. Sasha died & I'm not upset with it because I didn't think that she was that a good character. But I basically don't like any character in this show except for Negan. The best moment in the episode was when the tiger appeared with everyone from the Kingdom, Ezekiel is entertaining and I enjoyed his speech.

My advice for future seasons is to cut the amount of episodes to 10-13 and get rid of this stupid concept of doing stand alone episode because they have never been good and they never will be. And get rid of all the filler and building and deliver good episodes on a regular basis. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue watching this show because I've not liked it especially much since the beginning of season 5 and Iknow that this show will go on for way to long but for the fans I'm hoping that season 8 will be more satisfying.
