The Secrets of Malatesta (2016)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Director Christopher Speeth sits down for a rather rare interview as he discusses his film MALATESTA'S CARNIVAL OF BLOOD, which was pretty much missing for thirty-years before being re-discovered and eventually released by Arrow Video, which is where you can see this interview. The director starts off talking about why he decided to make the movie and he shares some nice stories about getting the money to do it. From here he goes into the production of the film as well as giving some stories about the cast members and the shooting location. The best segments are left for last when he discusses the original distribution as well as the film finally finding some viewers. If you're a fan of the film then you'll certainly enjoy hearing some of the stories about it. Speeth does a nice job at talking about the history of the film and there's no doubt that the stories are quite interesting to say the least.
