The film is a series of comedic set pieces. The first one is set in a shopping mall. Followed by another one at a beer and wine parlor. This part was quite amusing. Then there is a flashback which is slightly weepy and boring. The next comedic set piece is a rather long one in a bus. Then there is the resolution of the conflict.
Happy Wedding is a louder version of Premam but less stylish and filled with eve-teasing humor. I am from a generation that grew up watching some of the best comedians of Malayalam cinema. The new generation of actors - Sarafuddin, Wilson Joseph, Justin John, Sudhi Koppa etc were mostly unfunny. Soubin Shahir was above average at least.
The film uses fast cuts, loud music and clever editing to hide the mediocrity of the actors. But what can I say? Two hours went by quite quickly. I was having a few drinks while watching the movie at home. Maybe alcohol was the reason that I was able to complete it.
