  • FROM JENNIFER is a low budget comedic romp into madness with a shocking end. I've seen Derek Mears in quite a few big budget productions as a silent evil and a speaking monster with very convincing performances, but *never* have I loved a performance by anyone like I did this. I must admit my least favorite performance was from the biggest name in the film. But poor performances aside throughout, I highly recommend it for those who enjoys Derek's work.
  • The camera work is well done, although it fluctuates between first person and other angles....

Acting is fair... not distractingly bad.

Characters are different and believable, the plot does keep you guessing, there is some social commentary that is relevant.

Feels like an Indie film that is a win for a first time out though I have no idea if that's what it is.

If you need big budget hollywood production over story-line probably not for you, but its a decent 6 out of 10 for me...
  • I think this obviously wasn't a polished horror movie, but it really didn't take itself seriously and was rather entertaining, funny at some points. This will be a fun watch for horror movie fans.

I've given this film a very high score. I found it darkly hilarious. I found the characters pretty believable, after seeing the antics of some "stars" on one of the major social platforms. Being on the edge of madness seems to be actually a thing.

"Derek" was especially fun to watch. I've known a few "gentle giants" in my life who often made me uncomfortable by how anxious they were to please someone.

The female leads were interesting and well-acted.

The cinematography was good for what was basically a "found footage" film, although. as ohters have mentioned, some of the camera angles took me out of that immersion.
