Camera are rolling on an ITV drama that tells the true story of Britain’s biggest ever police manhunt.
The Hunt For Raoul Moat will explore the major 2010 police operation to apprehend fugitive Raoul Moat, who went on the run in Northumbria after killing one person and wounding two others.
The drama focuses on the innocent victims of Moat’s crimes – Christopher Brown, Samantha Stobbart and PC David Rathband; the police officers who put themselves in the firing line to apprehend Moat; and a local journalist who sought to tell Moat’s real story in a landscape of sensationalist reporting and social media provocation.
It will begin with Moat ex-partner Stobbart piecing her life back together following Moat’s imprisonment for assault. After he is released, he attempts to rekindle their relationship but when Moat realises that won’t happen, arms himself with a shotgun and confronts her and new partner Brown.

On a recent Saturday night in Hungary, just days before the official start of spring, principal photography wrapped on “Seven Kings Must Die,” the feature-length spinoff of the Netflix historical drama “The Last Kingdom,” which ranked among the most popular shows on the streaming service when its fifth and final season was released in March.
Nigel Marchant, managing director at Carnival Films, the NBCUniversal-owned production house behind “The Last Kingdom” as well as global hit “Downton Abbey,” described an “emotional” scene as cast and crew parted ways for the last time. “It was the first time we didn’t have another show that we were putting into production in Hungary,” says Marchant, who has been part of the series since production on season one began in 2014. “It really is an end of an era.”

"Why do you live like this? The windows, the lights, the traps..." Signature Entertainment from the UK has unveiled a new UK trailer for an indie living-in-seclusion horror-thriller titled Rose: A Love Story, which initially premiered at last year's London Film Festival. The film, which also goes under the simple title Rose, marks the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Jennifer Sheridan. Gripped by a violent, terrifying illness, Rose lives in seclusion with her husband, but the arrival of a stranger shatters the fragile refuge they have built. The film stars Sophie Rundle as Rose, along with Matt Stokoe, Nathan McMullen, and Olive Gray. This seems very eerie and mysterious, and I'm intrigued to find out more about what's going on with them in the woods. Have a look. Here's the official UK trailer (+ poster) for Jennifer Sheridan's Rose: A Love Story, from Digital Spy: Rundle stars as the eponymous Rose...

November can be a slow month for streaming services. Amazon, however, is entering into 2020’s penultimate month with some steam.
Amazon is really beefing up its TV library in November 2020. Both Community (which arrives on Nov. 8) and Scrubs (Nov. 14) will be added to Amazon Prime this month and in the process complete the streaming trifecta: Netflix, Amazon, Hulu. That’s pretty impressive stuff for both shows. And then on the film side of things, November 1 sees the arrival of The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Twilight, and the Underworld franchise. Somebody didn’t tell Amazon Spooky Season was over and bless them for it.
As for the originals, Alex Rider is the most intriguing TV series here. That is based on the British spy novel series and premieres on Nov. 13 on IMDb TV (which is available to all Prime subscribers). That will be followed by Steve McQueen’s Small Axe series on Nov.

But, she knows to best her enemies – and all those that believe she is out of her depth – she forms a partnership with a fellow sleuth, known as The Duke (Martin). Here, the cast and crew tell us about working together, breaking down sexist barriers, the mix of romance, thrills, and spills in the show and why 202 was the perfect time to tell this story.

Carnival Films will adapt Charles Soule’s “Anyone” for TV, having snagged the rights to the comic book writer’s second novel before it is published in December by Harper Perennial.
Soule’s comic credits include “Daredevil,” “She-Hulk,” and “Death of Wolverine.” He will handle the “Anyone” adaptation alongside Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant, and Joanna Strevens from Carnival. The U.K.-based and NBCUniversal-backed producer is behind the “Downton Abbey” series and movie as well as shows including “Jamestown” and “Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.”
“Anyone” follows a brilliant female scientist who, searching for a cure for Alzheimer’s, creates a technology that allows human consciousness to travel between bodies. More than two decades later, the technology transforms society, from entertainment and travel to warfare, wreaking global havoc.

Famke Janssen has joined Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the cast of crime thriller “The Postcard Killings.” Variety has been given the first-look image from the movie.
Morgan plays Jacob Kanon, the New York detective intent on capturing his daughter’s murderer. Janssen plays Valerie Kanon, the mother of their now deceased daughter.
Across Europe, newlywed couples are being targeted in a string of bizarre killings that leave the young victims’ bodies looking like the murders have been staged.
Bosnian filmmaker Danis Tanovic, who won an Oscar for “No Man’s Land,” and Berlin Grand Jury winner “Death in Sarajevo,” directs the pic.
The film is an adaptation of James Patterson and Liza Marklund bestselling novel. It is produced by Good Films Collective, and is being sold in Cannes by Christian Mercuri’s Capstone.
As well as Morgan and Janssen, the film features Denis O’Hare, Naomi Battrick, Ruairi O’Connor and Cush Jumbo.

Director Tom Shankland didn’t want his “Les Miserables” to be anything like the stage-musical version of Victor Hugo’s sweeping historical novel, nor like the 2012 Tom Hooper feature-film musical.
For the BBC limited series — a drama starring Olivia Colman, Lily Collins, David Oyelowo and Dominic West, which aired the first of its six episodes in the U.S. on PBS on April 14 — Shankland’s goal was to get back to the roots of the story, using large portions of what Hugo gave readers in his 1862 book. He worked closely with his crew to impart his vision.
Production designer Richard Bullock, whose credits include “Peaky Blinders” and “McMafia,” found a great deal of specificity in the source work. “I read the novel, and Tom and I referenced it hugely,” he says. “There is so much great description, which helped throughout the entire production. Even if the details didn’t make it directly into the script,...

Carnival Films, the production company behind “Downton Abbey,” tackles 1620s America with the series “Jamestown” — a production that took place nowhere near Virginia, site of the original Jamestown colony. Instead the show was shot at locations just outside Budapest, where a Southern drawl has seldom been heard.
Yet tax incentives often speak louder than words, as do low labor costs. That’s why it was decided to re-create the historic Jamestown settlement in Central Europe, where the team worked with period experts and studied historical records to build an accurate reproduction of the town and nearby village of the Native American Pamunkey tribe.
Unlike many location builds, which remain in place for a relatively short period of time, the “Jamestown” buildings are outdoor, stable structures intended to stand for years.
