  • This is a very low budget independent film that might not be for everyone but it has some beautiful shots of rural Italy that contrast deeply with the darkness of the subject matter. The director manages to show off a beautiful place while still communicating the stifling provincialism and ultimate hypocrisy that often dominates communities in such regions all over the world. I have given this film a fairly strong rating for managing with so little money to capture a story that is simultaneously very Italian but also extremely relatable to people anywhere probably who spent their childhood in a tight knit community dominated by religion and bigotry.
