When entering the bio-ship, the away team walks casually through the airlock. A few moments later, in a wide shot, the bottom of the airlock door is heavily obscured by plants and shrubbery. The away team would have had to have stepped over it or push their way through it, neither of which they were seen doing.
When Ed is talking to the guard ("Nick Lewis"), in the rear shots, Ed's arms are down by his sides, while in the shots facing him, his hands are on his hips.
As Kelly and Alara walk along the dirt road the background is out of sync.
When the Orville first encountered the alien ship, Isaac reported that their sensors were not able to penetrate its hull. Later, when the Orville's shuttle docked with the alien ship, Isaac, using the Orville's sensors, determined that there was a breathable atmosphere on the other side of the airlock. The airlock would not be necessarily as thick as the hull and could permit this scan.
The alien structure is described as 400,000 kilometers to port (left) when detected while the starship in the exterior view turns right (starboard) to reach the structure. However it then veers left.
When Lt. Cmdr. Bortus starts his shift early the entire senior bridge crew is already manning the bridge. Since Lt. Cmdr. Bortus is senior staff would he be on the same shift rotation as the rest of the senior staff? Not necessarily: without overlapping shifts the command would be devoid of the senior staff.
When the away team is together when first inside the ship's living area, Isaac is sent back to the shuttle to communicate with the ship because they are unable to communicate with the ship from inside the alien ship. In the immediate next scene, Isaac is seen with the away team going towards the family's farm. Clearly the hours had elapsed and they have rendezvoused before heading off.
When Cmdr. Kelly Grayson is injected with the truth serum, there is still air in the syringe. This could possibly kill her (although not all air embolisms are fatal.)
The Orville crew members are able to instantly begin communicating with the inhabitants of the bio-ship. While the Union is said to possess translation technology, a translator would need to know what language it is translating, or at the very least would need a broad sample of a new language to build a translation matrix from. Even if the translators were able to translate the natives' language, it should have taken some degree of interaction before it was capable of doing so.
Kelly says that the away team will rendezvous in 3 hours at 13:00, meaning it is 10:00 at that time. But Bortus had just arrived early for his shift on the bridge, and Klyden had woken him up to talk about his needs not being met, to which Bortus said it was very early. As this happened just before Bortus went to the bridge, it would have to have been nearly 10:00 AM, which is not particularly early, especially on a tightly run military vessel like the Orville.
When the generation ship first appears on scanners, Alara says it can't be a space station because "there are no space stations this far out." As they are exploring deep into space, her statement ignores the very real possibility that it could be a station from an as-yet unidentified civilization encroaching on Union space.
When discussing his boredom at their star-mapping task, Gordon says he'd rather have brunch with his parents. About a Girl (2017) established that his father is deceased. The status of his mother is unknown.
