A behind the scenes look of Eddie Braun as he attempts to recreate a famous Evel Knievel stunt. Shows a lot of what gets done behind the screen but also shows the toll it takes to be a stuntman for Eddie and his family. Definitely have a lot of appreciation for the under appreciated life of one of the top stuntman in the industry!! Worth a watch for anyone who has an appreciation for action movies!

randyfoulds6 September 2021It would have been easy to mess up this film. It could have been too simple and cheap, and come off like a Youtube video. It could have been over dramatized, and come off as campy. Instead, what we get is a really personal and great perseverance incredible story. Close look inside the life of a hard working every day man with one hell of a dream. Through pure chance, he learns of another dreamer, the son of the man who built Knievel's rocket. Together, the dream becomes real. And the film, follows this story perfectly. Never over the top, never losing the emotional appeal. The directing and editing were perfectly paced. Some of the most unexpected moments had me in tears.

The first few minutes are good,and the last ten minutes are impressive ,and well filmed. The rest is just drawn out and boring. Without commercials,this easily could've been done in 45 minutes. -
knight-2640424 July 2021This is my first review on IMDB (am a 36yo Fijian male). While the majority of the movie watchers don't actively think about all the people it takes to successfully pull off practical (and dangerous) movie stunts, without such people (hey even entertainment wrestling takes much stunt skill) many movies would not feel awesome nor the face actors who ride on the dedicated efforts of the entire team. Watching Mr Braun and this documentary is simply a pleasure as the piece is honest (IMHO) where you can also start to feel what they feel. Well made doc (easy on the eyes, ears and mind) and doesn't insult anyone. Mr Braun is an awesome guy (he became my hero while I watched this as I don't know him, and yes I have many heroes, male and female). If you are also looking for a real view (sort of) into the stunt person life try this feature. It is inspiring because we will all die but what matters is how you lived. Thank you (gave 10 out of 10, but yeah it's no Shawshank but in doc standards, 10 from me).

The "stuntman" title is a bit misleading. It begins with Bauer's TV and movie stunts, which carries it a third of the way. The remaining two thirds is "daredevil" stuff, documenting a long and boring and constantly stumbling project to do the rocket over Snake River thing. The film is fifty percent meh.

magnus-15126 July 2021This was amazing. The story was so well built up that the whole family got hooked. And when it peaked we all was almost screaming. A true and honest story about a family father with a rather dangerous work and now with the mind set on one specific super dangerous task.

But someone thought that there are enough bored people to sit through 90 minutes of a cheesy "follow your dreams" show that should be on the Hallmark Channel.
The original Evel was a true Daredevil. He attempted to cross the Snake River in 1974.
This clown does it 42 years later and wonders why nobody showed up.
This video sat on the shelves 3 plus years for a reason.
I believe the work stunt men/women do is impressive.
However this old guy is not the one to tell the story. It should come from someone younger and who has a personality. -

I loved the story and it's direction, didn't expect much and was surprised on how the story unveiled.
