  • Here's my short review of the movie -

Acting - Varun Sharma as Choocha is the highlight of the movie (as expected). However, the real highlight is Pankaj Tripathi as Panditji with his English one-liners and his interactions with Choocha. If Fukrey 3 is made, I wouldn't mind if these two were the only main characters. Rest of the cast gives a good performance, they feel like real people stuck in a bizarre situation again.

Songs - OK. The first movie's theme song is used again. The songs are mostly used in the background, which is fine, not chart busters for me.

Cinematography - Delhi is shot very well and its many sides are explored. No complaints there.

Story and direction - The most important parts of a movie. A story can be good, but in the hands of a bad director, it can suck. Thankfully this one doesn't. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and writer Vipul Vig have done a brilliant job. However, the movie does drag in the second half somewhat as I felt it could've been half an hour shorter. Fukrey Returns somewhat falls into the sequel trap where it tries to tell too many stories at once, I felt the first movie was still a better story because it was simple. However, it still manages to be entertaining because of the actors and writing.

TLDR; version - Choocha and (now) Panditji are awesome, rest of the cast gives a good performance, the story is good for the most part but could have been half an hour shorter, the songs are good, but not as good as the first one. 7/10
  • I can say you will not be disappointed after watching this movie. It's a good one time watch. Varun Sharma aced his performance and man Richa Chadda is hot. Overall it's a good watch. There are some good comedy dialogues in this movie, you can relate a lot with Choocha's character. The story was not that good but all the comedy sure made it look good. Other casts were also good.
  • Film is mainly saved by writer Vipul Vig's dialogues and actors. Main plot of collecting money from public and betting on lottery, run by Politician is very vaguely executed. If you are not aware of its first part then very difficult to understand what is going on and why? Politician turns the table to boys team, like cake walk then why was all that drama to hatch the plot. Bholey Panjaban is established, hand to mouth in jail suddenly she starts playing with lots of money even after her plan was failed!? She even finds new way of recovering money from her defaulters by trading their organs, just to make her realize that Choocha can still predict future!! And for sake of interval!? Film is in bits and pieces. You just enjoy few chunks of scenes then again get bored by next chunk. Pre climax is the dullest. Tigress, cub, the tunnel which turns proper lit on ceiling!!, and all that stuffs are simply meaning less. It was assumed that a Tigress living in Zoo, has find out or dug out, some tunnel which no one was aware and when all drama goes in premises, every time Zoo was closed for renovation but no workers or anyone were around. Yes, dialogues keep you entertained throughout, with topping of fine performances by most of the actors. They are so much into character that without saying a word they make you laugh. Varun Sharma as Choocha is hilarious and best. Second comes, Pankaj Tripathi as Panditji. Surprisingly, He always finds scope for showcasing his acting even if it doesn't remain on paper. Richa Chadda is fine. Manjyot Singh as Lali is good. An actor, who helps to save the boys after jumping in Jamuna is out standing in his brief role. His expressions are damn perfect. Rest actors are OK.
  • Fukey have returned with new adventure and Deja Chu of Varun Sharma. Sequel has been written very well as opening credit dedicated to first part. Dialogues were witty and full of punches. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and writer Vipul Vig have done brilliant job.Another great performance from Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma and Richa Chadha. Pankaj Tripathi as Panditji with English one liner is totally surprise package of the movie. First half was more entertaining and engaging than second one.Music is also good but not up-to previous installment.Definitely you will miss melodious AmbarSariya.
  • Fukrey was a fresh concept with likable story, beautiful music and excellent performance by the new comers especially Varun Sharma. Will Fukrey Returns do justice to the cult classic ?

Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chaddha) is entangled in prison and desperately wants to come out. The only way out to adhere to the promise made to a local minister which again involves the four Fukreys.

Set in the lively city of Delhi , Fukrey Returns is fun to watch. The story does not have much to boast about and screenplay is timid but yet it is the execution of the plot filled with hilarious moments which makes it watchable. Mrigdeep Singh Lamba does a fairly good job in retaining the characters and sequence from the first part. Fukrey Returns will keep you entertained with comic scenes and is sure to bring down the house. The scene where a diver saves live of Choocha by mouth-to-mouth resuscitation is probably the best scene from the film and you will roll down the floor laughing. The scene at the dinner table with a local minister is again enjoyable. The frequent usage of English language by Pankaj Tripathi is fun to watch.

Of course, the sequel disappoints with few blemishes and loose screenplay. Music is a let down. Cinematoraphy is amazing capturing the locales of Delhi. Background score is good. Out of 4 protagonist , Pulkeet Samrat and and Varun Sharma stands out with superb chemistry. Both of them should be applauded for fine comic-timings. Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi do lend in good support.

Fukrey Returns is a Laughton which will be remembered for its utmost hilarious moments. Go for it 3/5
  • This is great for a one-time watch. The movie has retained some of the essence from the first installment including the background music score and the whole main cast intact. But what happened to the college entrance? Now they are just back in trouble of earning some good amount to do what?

Look, I'm a bit of a technical person and I'm probably not gonna dive into plotholes cus I mostly don't care them as I just miss them. Speaking of the music score, I love the way how the original background score made a comeback in here with some more songs which were good, except the ones with those big'ol dance moves. (I just hate those dance-songs because they are just distracting and I feel that each one's meaning is going to be a cliché. Our sinhala films are somehow the culprit for making me hate so.)

I am not clear whether this is a BGM or a song, but that "song" played at the chase scene, which goes somewhat like "Run" by AWOLNation (Even some vocals did say "RUN!" in Hindi - "BHAAG!") was the peak!

Is it me or did this get a bit surreal to be using animations? Anyhow, if that snake, and the tigress and cub at the zoo weren't specially trained real animals, they are way better than any work of animations I've seen in hindi movies. (If you are curious about how far animations can go awful in Hindi Films, then watch PM Narendra Modi (2022).)

However I felt that the flashlights/torches were acting up a bit. Everytime a torch beam hits the camera, the camera sensor or something weird at the post-production desk starts suffering from tinnitus at various frequencies. That ringing sound is better to be heard just a very few times cuz everyone's flashlights are not supposed to have some PWM Brightness control to excite our eyes like microphones.

When they found the tigress who managed to spawn from deep beneath the cave, those torchlights shone at its direction were bouncing like crazy as if each circle of light created by each torch were nothing but some random-motion screensaver thing.

And I'm just curious how Discharge lamps could appear in an ancient looking cave/tunnel network that our team just managed to reach by digging the ground down. That's not about the low-pressure sodium lamps at the end of it that looks like a sewer, but the greenish light at the middle of this maze-looking section.

Well, this all is just about some very brief spots of a great screenplay! And I beg you pardon for bothering about small things without thinking of the big picture like you guys.

To sum the things, Furkey Returns is more likely a different approach of bringing up those characters involved. The first movie from 2013 is just decent, down-to-earth and according to some others' words, experimental. Moreover, it has its own spirit that is way stronger than this one has.

    Cheers!
  • Fukrey Returns - A Review by Kalyug Briefs

When a woman decides to get her work done...she can utilize even the most useless 'Fukreys' and come out with flying colors!

This is what the film is all about! Bholi Punjaban is a lady Don who was previously a brothel Madam plus had several other criminal projects under her wing - distributing drugs to frustrated college students, providing sex workers to the frustrated slimy pigs of the nation etc. She was caught and sent behind the bars because of 4 young fools! That happened in part I.

Part II - she gets released with the help of a corrupt politician who wants to become the Chief Minister! She was angry with the 4 young fools so she decides to make them work for her and collect the money that she had to pay to the corrupt minister - 10 crore in 10 days!

They open up a 'Get rich quick' scheme and several people invest. Unfortunately they fail and people run after them like blood thirsty hounds. Later somehow the good politician helps them get the corrupt man behind the bars and they are all saved! Everything forgiven and forgotten!

    Some random scenes:

2 zoo keepers steal beef meat that belonged to the tigress! Both were discussing whether beef was banned for the animals at the zoo! Shows that even if you are employed, you can still steal...even steal from animals! Humans are ready to eat the putrid meat kept aside for animals also!

The 2 African stooges or body guards of Lady Don were doing Seva in langar - washing utensils and distributing prasaad to people at the langar...but as soon as their boss got released they went back to their old profession - stealing animals, stealing human organs etc! The lady Don had hired doctors and nurses to steal organs of people - eyes, kidney and export them!! All this to make money. At the end, it is shown that this lady was forgiven and she is travelling with the Chief Minister in his car!! Shows that thugs, smugglers...basically criminals involved in organ harvesting, drug dealing, sex worker providing - which of course will include girl child kidnapping etc...is all forgiven by the Government of India...because such are the smart opportunist people who are required to run the nation...a nation of fukreys!?

And what about all the Seva done in the Langar? All went kaput? No change of mind and heart? No change of spirit or soul took place in spite of working and staying in a religious place for so long!? SO basically it is quite possible that people visit temples etc. for time pass or do some seva thinking it to be a kind of bribe for the Gods!! People judge Gods by their standards after all!
  • Watched part 1 and was since then waiting for part 2 to arrive. Must say that despite some weird reviews running the movie down, I found it to be quite hilarious.

I last saw Golmaal Again and cursed myself for watching it. Was just praying Fukrey Returns isn't like that otherwise I would never have gone to watch a sequel again. Thankfully, this is a great movie.

Everyone has acted well, there are a few dull moments here and there but every time Chucha comes on the screen, the movie picks pace.

Go watch it, you won't be disappointed!
  • Fukrey Returns is a film co-written and directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. I watched the previous part of this film some months back and I was a fan. So I was eagerly waiting for the sequel. And I was very well impressed.

Plot: One year after the events of Fukrey, Bholi Punjaban comes out of take to exact revenge on the 4 boys.

Story and direction: This film shows Delhi to its fullest. Some of the locations made me quite nostalgic that I was living in such a place. The story is also quite nice and entertaining. Hats off to Vipul (Vig) and Mrighdeep to give us such a satisfying sequel. They never diluted our beloved characters just because its a sequel. They kept the same naughtiness and innocence that makes the characters who they are. Also the jokes were spot on. I bursted into laughter each and every time a joke was cracked on screen. The jokes never felt forced or never the film went slapstick. But this film had a few issues. The film after the first hour gets a little slow for some 20 minutes which bored me a lot. I felt that except for Bholi, none of the female characters were given that much importance. Then the villain of the film didn't seem very convincing. Also, I just cringed on how fake the tiger and the cub were. If you can't produce good VFX, then why waste money.

Performances: Each of the characters feel so correctly portrayed, that I can't fault even one the main performances. Pulkit Samrat once again nailed the persona of a Dilli ka chokra. Varun Shrama was born to play Choocha (again my favorite character of the film) and he portrayed it honestly. Manjot Singh was the most adorable Sardar ever in any film. Ali Fazal was also good. Pankaj Tripathi is a gem and it is a treat to watch him. No one could ever portray the role of Bholi Punjaban so perfectly as Richa Chaddha. The other girls (Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh) roles were minimal but good. Rajiv Gupta's character needed something to connect me with,

Music: As with the on-going trend now-a-days, multiple music directors have rendered songs to this venture. None of them could match the magic Ram Sampath put into the prequel (Thank God, he was credited). The background score incorporated sounds form the prequel which made it sound nothing new to me.

Favorite Scene: It would be the one where Laali and Hunny take Choocha to a hospital because Choocha suffers from a snake-bite. The aura of the scene and also Varun Sharma's phenomenal acting made it for me the scene of the film.

Verdict: As with many people, who have seen the prequel, I would say that the first part was better than the second. But still, I will not shy away by saying that I had a wonderful time watching this film. It was an entertaining venture. If you do plan to see this film, please do watch part 1.

    I am going with a 7.5/10.
  • Ideal date for a world television premiere..and thats the only positive thing in this review. Movie is utter garbage which tries to survive like a arasite on its prequel. On a serious note, marketing agents have already succeeded , movie has already grossed over 100 crores and imdb reviews have been manipulated and adulterated. For heavens sake, fukrey retuems in not even 1/10th of fukrey ..please leave this platform for some genuine reviews, losers! Performance wise, hunny choocha overact, laali zafar are wasted, and entry of almost every other character looks forced, because their is no story. You wait for the scenes that make you laugh and , and guess what, the joke is on you! April fools day everyone who watched it today.
  • Varun Sharma (Choocha), Richa Chadha (Bholi Punjaban), Pankaj Tripathi (Pandit) steal everyone's hearts by there punch lines and hilarious acts from start till end audience just keep laughing in cinema, In fact it is funnier than the first part. That familiar craziness you've seen in the characters is not just back; it has doubled, in fact. The scene stealer is Varun Sharma as Choocha. Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi did superb job. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani with director Mrighdeep Lamba have created a successful franchise and there is bright scope to make a Fukrey 3.
  • No plot, Sorry but it didn't meet up the expectations you had after a great movie FUKREY (2013)
  • Well i watched this movie little late but still want to right about because i loved the first part. Fukrey returns this time with something different and something fresh and it is Deja chu. Highlight of the film is Choocha/Varun grover , he entertains everytime whenever on the screen, but the rest of the fukrey look lost in the film , if you compare this movie with its sequel you find its slow and boring sometimes but as an whole different film its entertaining. Pankaj Tripathi and Richa chaddha done good job in there roles, but there could be possibilities of creating more chaos more drama to make this movie more entertaining, writers should have done more to create funny situations.
  • The 4 Fukrey Boys enjoy spending their money they got in the first part in the absence of Bholi Punjaban, but what happens when she comes out of jail? To find out watch Fukrey Returns

Direction - Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is successful in projecting the Delhi Boys lifestyle on the Silver Screen. He does a fantastic job as a director.

Acting - Varun Sharma is just brilliant! His expressions and sillyness makes you laugh throughout the movie. Sometimes you might feel that his funny expressions have more screen time than the cast of the movie. Pulkit Samrat is very convincing. He plays his role with honesty. His accent and vocabulary is typical Delhi Style. Ali Faizal is good, Pankaj Tripathi, needless to say is spectacular! Richa Chaddha is awesome!!

Final Word - This is a light hearted mindless comedy. You will enjoy it, if you don't try to find logic.
  • Fukrey Returns' is a smooth continuation and is free of Bollywood's for the most part unexpected droll style. The comic drama, be that as it may, is hindered and isn't immaculate either. It is an amalgamation of humourous and unfunny minutes, turning you on and off. While I like how the examples were properly paced, the film is to a lesser extent a humourous ride; and may have a couple of takers for the same.

Credit both to the entertainers. Varun Sharma is my undisputed top choice Fukra. He is an easy comic who has splashed the pith of his character no sweat. I think it'd be very unusual to have a people like Choocha around, yet Varun makes everything authentic. Zafar (Ali Fazal), controlled and quelled, is a floating identity and is most likely somewhat not at all like the rest as well. Nectar is the let's-get it-going, uber cool person who we as a whole preferred. While performers are for the most part fine, Pankaj Tripathi merits an uncommon specify for his unobtrusively put jokes which take the comic drama esteem not one, but rather a couple of steps higher.

Richa Chadha disillusions. Being the challenging, win-everything woman that she is, Richa's character could be our takeaway from this film. Rather, Richa can't break free from her idiosyncrasy. Her execution is just incompletely compelling.

Someone else who merits a unique mention is Rajiv Gupta. Gupta plays a keen politcian; a shrewd one. He makes being terrible a genuine article.

'Fukrey Returns' strength not be the giggling riot you were searching for. In any case, give it a shot this end of the week, if there's no other arrangement at put.

Rest, I wish the Md. Rafi great 'Tu Meri Mehbooba' wasn't messed around with!

There are comedies that have a way of commenting on some political or social issues at the time. It's great fun when it's done tastefully. This is one such film. The film is well paced with quite a few twists and turns. A light and enjoyable affair.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Fukrey Returns is a very entertaining movie.I liked it a bit more than the first part.Varun's(Choocha) and Pankaj Tripathi's(Panditji) Comic Roles,Pulkit's(Hunny) Smart Avatar and Richa's(Bholi Punjaban) Don Avtar are the best parts when it comes to Acting. This movie definitely has a good story. How Choocha sees glimpses of future and how it all helps them win the jackpot and unknowingly putting the Babulal Bhatia(Corrupt Politician) into trouble is the movie's climax.Babulal Bhatia's acting is also brilliant. He is the mastermind who gets the four Fukrey's and Bholi Punjaban into trouble in the 1st half of the movie and they get their revenge in the second part of the movie.Overall,Good Acting,Good Story,Funny Scenes is what makes the movie entertaining. The film only lacks good songs but still definitely worth a watch!!
  • I'm a great fan of the first movie that released in 2013 but this one really disappointed me as a sequel. This had to happen, there are changes that come with time but here the entire feel of the movie is different. It ultimately turned out to be a mainstream comedy which goes pointless in the end especially with its story. The previous one was pretty much an experimental comedy but it was engaging and something different, this one just has a bit more of tragic comedy A lot of overacting is done whereas some characters fade away, in the end Varun Sharma comes out as the highlight! All the comedy in the movie comes with him and Bholi too. It's not bad if you like to laugh and let loose but it does get boring and over dramatic in the second half especially. All Fukrey fans be ready to laugh again with Choocha's jokes but only if you can handle the story.
  • Again full of fun and laughter.. Real comedy movies are like this.. Had real fun with family.
  • rjs-freedi14 December 2017
If you understand script and love story in a movie, DO NOT WATCH this movie. Part 1 was gem this one is pathetic. No real comedy but unnecessary punches.

Fukrey 1's soul was its natural comic timing and a free flow well scripted story with some solid punches of comedy. Fukrey Returns lack exactly here. The makers thought of consuming the 'buffer' of accolades of Part-1 and make a crap movie. Major let down.
  • To want to run off a sequel is understandable. What doesn't make sense is to make this return such a slog. The actors are (more or less) the same. But the situations are so tired and contrived, and so relentlessly juvenile that there's nothing that even such capable hands as Richa Chaddha and Pankaj Tripathi can do, to retain our interest. In the original, there was at least an attempt at creating a somewhat realistic Dilli 'clony', with its grinning local louts, and lover- boys making eyes at neighbourhood heartthrobs across cramped balconies, 'nonk-jhonk' happening on terraces, and guys going by the name of Choocha (Sharma) and Hunny, not, please note, Honey(Samrat), Lalli (Singh) and Zafar (Fazal), who speak the street lingo with conviction, and who try pulling off small cons while waiting for something better. And a lovely, lilting song, which was so much better than the movie: I don't think you can hear "Ambarsariya" without wanting to join in. The other thing that kept the Fukrey boys from sinking was that they were endearing despite being all too familiar. There was an innocence about them even when they were being annoying. We liked them, and wished them well, especially when they fell into the clutches of the fearsome Bholi Punjaban (Chaddha), who had a motor- mouth full of abuse, and schemes to rip off the 'aam aadmi.'

This time around, Bholi has a lot more screen time. This gives Chadda loads of opportunities to slink around wearing leopard skin leotards and deep pink hoodies. Our four fellows are up against Bholi again, but this time she has troubles of her own in the shape of a greedy neta (Gupta), who, like a good Dilliwala, has his eyes on land and cash. If not madly original, this sequel could have been some amount of fun, and you can see it in tiny bits when Chaddha and Tripathi are vamping it up. But it starts to pall right from the start. And the crassness begins to get tiresome: bare butts are bitten by snakes, a guy peeing is both seen and heard, and everyone roams around, for some inexplicable reason, in the Delhi zoo, without a clue as to what to they are doing, patting tiger cubs (yes, that's right), and listening to the big cats snarl. If they could, the tigers should have sued.
  • Warning: Spoilers
First Bollywood movie i watched in theater after tamasha. Few years ago when fukrey was released, i didn't expect it to be that funny. It have this charm that no one can bring with planning. But this is disaster. Ram sampat's music was better. Farhan Akhtar produce it's first installment and this too, look like he didn't give much attention. Just like Golmaal:fun unlimited and Dhamaal, this will be remembered as a sequel ruined the fun.
  • Only brain dead people will eat this garbage. The movie is for fun and entertainment. If you are looking for any moral, lesson, thoughts movie would give then you are in dark place. I would say better stare at wall for 2 hours rather than watching this movie. I wish I could get my precious time back and had utilized it.

    JUST STAY AWAY.
  • With a well executed and entertaining prequel at their hands, the makers of ''Fukrey Returns'' could have done a much better job. Unfortunately, they didn't. Overall, the movie was just average. It is entertaining, just to the extent of few laughs that one gets at the stupidity of character ''Choocha''. The movie commenced at a slow pace with several parallel intro-stories of main characters. The title sequence is a recap of the first movie and is quite helpful for those who didn't watch the first movie. For the first quarter, the story appears totally directionless but as it gains momentum, it kind of starts taking ''shape''. One of the things that messed up the movie is too much attention on ''Choocha'' and ''Hunny'' while other characters were sidelined. They appeared to be just tagging along with occasional nods, face gestures and one-liners. Movie could have been much better if all the main characters have got equal importance and share in the story....the way they did in original ''Fukrey''. There are several plot-holes and goof- ups. However, these could be easily ignored as it didn't affect the main story. This movie lacked the elements of original ''Fukrey''....the shockers, surprises and seat-binding thrills. There is a surprise element in this sequel too, but it is nothing in comparison to the first movie. The movie is once watchable but it is not the movie for which one need to travel and spend money in a Multiplex. Wait for it to be showcased on DTH, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc.
