From the criminally underrated "October" album comes the single and video for "Gloria", one of their best compositions of all time.
In the video, director Meiert Avis (who began his career as a filmmaker and music director thanks to U2 videos) present the group performing on a boat on some Ireland port. Basic stuff but the gorgeous cinematography capturing some background and the location, plus the fast editing with many close-ups on band members - mostly Bono - makes it a quite fun experience.
And the song, while dealing the religious themes is a work of glory and thought, well accomplished by its memorable sound of The Edge's guitar and Adam Clayton's funky bass. All memorable. Too bad Larry Mullen Jr. Barely appears in it - though decades later he became the leading man of "Electrical Storm". 9/10.
