Yes, this was really good and it leaves you wanting more. Dave Bautista gives a great performance here and the cinematography is lovely. The set looked great too for what it was. For these five minutes you are in this universe.
  • Warning: Spoilers
"2048: Nowhere to Run" is a 5-minute live action short film from this year (2017) that is intended to make people more curious about the upcoming Blade Runner movie. The focus in this pretty short work is on Dave Bautista's character and while there is dramatic story-telling early on and he looks clearly older than he does in the recent Bond film, it's back to him beating up some of the bad guys in the second half as he seems to be one of the good guys this time. His unleashing is observed and the spectator informs a higher authority of what just happened and who he is. That's all. Director is Ridley Scott's son Luke like in one of the other Blade Runner short films coming out recently. This one here scored half a million views on YT in half a month, which may not be groundbreaking figures, but still something most people can only dream of. This description also fits the film itself. I liked the watch here and I recommend checking it out. Bautista makes a good job with his very physical acting once again. Go see it.

A worthwhile prequel made all the better by Bautista's mature acting chops. Very impressive. He is turning into a far more flexible performer than any of his peers from the ring well outside of the goofy action-comedy genre.
  • The short film "2048: Nowhere to Run" shows how Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista) draws the attention from the police. Actually those who watch the film "Blade Runner 2049" might get confused about Sapper Morton, who appears at the start of "Blade Runner 2049". And this short just provides the answer.
  • We see the man of the movie but just before 2049 played by Batista and we witnessed his power and the need of money for the person who he loves and at the end we can understand how the Blade runner in the movie Blade runner 2049 found that replicant. Pretty informative and introduced the new replicant.
  • Having seen all the shorts and the new movie I have to say that this is the most 'Blade Runner' of the 4. It may only be 5 Min's long but for those 5 Min's I felt like was watching a deleted scene from the original. It has the right gritty noir feel to it. Mr Bautista is coming on leaps and bounds with his acting career, big thumbs up here.
  • It's strange to see Bautista in acting roles and being more nuanced than just a big bloke who can fight, he gives the character depth and leaves me wanting to know a lot more about the origin of Sapper, I think that would be an interesting movie and will work well within the Blade Runner franchise.

A phenomenal performance by Dave Bautista.

One of three short films serve as prequels to Blade Runner 2049. Directed by Luke Scott, son of Ridley Scott.
  • When you get a character matched so perfectly with an actor it's a shame to sideline the combo to so few minutes of film. Movies don't always have to have some huge plan and scheme. I, for one, would love to see Dave Bautista just living out a portion of his life in the Blade Runner world, having adventures and just being Sapper Morton. Most directors can't pull off the big event anyway. Why can't we have less convoluted and straight-to-the-point stories? GIVE US SAPPER MORTON!
