I'll be honest, i have seen many Hollywood films based on the same concept so called super soldier but inspite of that the film attack was entertaining and futuristic. I loved all the action sequences, the bgm and John Abraham's performance as a super soldier.

I can't diss this movie for not being on par with Hollywood - because it took Hollywood a lot of time and mix of good and bad movies to reach where they are today. And Attack is a similar crucial stepping stone for Indian movies, whether you like it or hate it AFTER watching it is your personal opinion.
But to solely dismiss it as a copy of Robocop/Upgrade is equally unfair.
Art inspires art, stories inspire stories and after I was done watching it, in retrospect I can't recall a dull moment which seemed like a blatant rip off in any way.
I've also seen people criticizing it for Jingoism and my only question is why can't a movie have a sci-fi backdrop and talk about role of an enhanced individual in a politically strife terrorism situation? It's hell a lot better than watching actors romance with love interests the age of their daughters now.
The movie isn't without it's flaws but it's a great case study for directors who are looking to explore more sci-fi action in Indian setting, it'd be great if such people can absorb all the good this movie finally brings to the stale state of mainstream Bollywood and look at the places it faltered to come up with even better projects in future.
Attack was definitely worth the watch for me as it gave me hope for Indian movies.

Overall a good watch with some scenes better than others. The storyline is pretty good, actions scenes were well choreographed, the dialogue was best during the action and many of the main supporting characters had a lot of depth. The chemistry with some of the personal interests were not so much. There are hints of several other movies like Universal Soldier, Olympus Has Fallen, The Matrix, Mission Impossible (or sometimes referred to as Mission Ridiculous) and some John Wick, and just one more. There is one tiny scene at the end that I just loved as I do like "I'm done with you" types of scenes. For those that are familiar with Where Eagles Dare will know this one. Go out and enjoy this one.
Mark my words that this movie will be flop today but this will be a big achievement and milestone for futuristic indian action sci-fi cinema... Film has too many good points with moderate budget and brilliant on point execution without any loose end!! Gripping and good at action scenes also this movie is slap for audience who always love to argue on topic that "bollywood tatti hai"... So please support it!!
John has given his sweat and blood to this movie. Power Packed action action and John Abraham performance made this movie definitely a worth watch. Just don't listen to that Boycott gang. If you'll not stand for this movie today, then in future every director who wants to create something new will fear to do the same. We don't want all that same boring concept like Karan Johar delivers in his every second movie. Just go and watch it in theatres without any doubt. Go for it.

Before I begin, Type in Google: "Exoskeleton program of drdo"
and read articles present on DRDO website and other newspapers. People who say it's a Hollywood copy paste to them I'll tell, Movie is ACTUALLY INSPIRED from, it mentions in first half and again more clearly in last, IN WRITTEN about DRDO project, which hints it is inspired by the topic "exoskeleton with AI", it's a topic on which actual research is going on in DRDO and also in other countries like Israel and US. I myself have read about it in some article in some places. However, it is still a fiction and leaps and bounds ahead of what is currently possible in the field of exoskeleton.
Now about Movie: BREATHETAKING, THRILLING and a Sci-fi Action movie with unique plot, also has GOOD Songs, GREAT BACKGROUND MUSIC, AMAZING VFX, Overall, it's full of entertainment... Will enjoy best, if you watch on big screen. Will not be bored for a second that is for sure. IT'S VILLIAN IS CERTAINLY KICKASS(Funny at times, can't deny but very entertaining) ISLAMIC TERRORIST WITH KASHMIRI-HINDI ASCENT. Did an amazing job, trying to show as much action and special effects as possible, in a very low budget. It's BACKGROUND MUSIC IS SUPER AWESOME, just hear it in DOLBY digital surround sound in 7.1 + Atmos. Movie will make you only VERY LITTLE BIT recall "Olympus has fallen"(Parliament Capture, John runs on foot towards Parliament when attacked, but all other action is still unique, every action scene of this movie is unique, nothing copied) and "Universal Soldier"(only concept of super soldier) and "Venom"(John talks with AI assistant, implanted in his brain, looks like talking to himself, but I think you see this in many psychological thriller movies all around world) but in a very unique storyline that revolves in Indian ecosystem with India's contemporary socio-political situation. Watch it on big screen, that's where you will enjoy it best. It's BGM and VFX really deserve to be watched in a big screen.
Only drawback in this movie, is romance between John and Jacquelin looks un-realistic and that too because it is very small, and TRUST ME it is completed before Title of the movie comes on screen. BUT, I think they did it because they wanted to focus on real actual subject, which they wanted to present in 2.5 hrs.
I request folks, if you don't want to spend money at least don't speak or write simply biased negative review because it is an Indian sci-fi movie, something we as an audience are not used to, and I can tell you, if such a good sci-fi movie with such a low budget doesn't get due appreciation, it will gradually become end of sci-fi genre in Indian Cinema.
Update 3rd April: Watched once again on big screen in PVR. Equally entertaining as it was in the first time.
Update 8th April: Watched 3rd time in PVR. More such movies need to be made in Hindi CINEMA for improving quality of films made in Indian cinema, especially in Sci-fi genre. Today, I was shocked to see, Last week there were 4 shows here in PVR VCC, Prayagraj, now this Friday it has reduced to only one. It is unfortunate, that such a good movie was released at an inappropriate date and it's clashing with "The Kashmir Files" and "RRR". They both are also very good movies no doubt. But, It is just very very very sad, that such a good and unique Hindi movie, if not a very great movie, is not getting any chance or I should say MUCH DESERVED APPRECIATION from Hindi audiences. Then, it's us getting back on social media and complaining that their is a lack of good content driven movies in India or that we Indians lag behind in making Sci-fi movies.

"Attack" may not be an embodiment of perfection nor anything substantive for that matter; yet you cannot refute all the efforts and the amount of commitment shown by the entire production crew, including the actors themselves. It is stylish, it is elegant and it knows what and how to deliver when the action kicks in.
Nevertheless, it is quite evident that the narrative showcases hints of struggle in other facets, and therefore the overall consistency is compromised to a certain extent. For instance, the writing on the antagonist came off as insignificant, as a result, he doesn't seem like a menacing presence nor does he present any imminent threats. Similarly, almost the same remarks apply to our protagonist's romantic interest, Ayesha, her part seemed like a superficial inclusion rather than an essential requirement.
Despite the drawbacks, I have to say whenever the Action takes the center stage, and the energetic score starts fading in in the back it's a satisfactory ride of chaos and absolute madness. While it is true that "Attack" borrowed lots of ideas from other Hollywood blockbusters and the ambitious blend of Sci-fi & Action is not something 'Original' per se, still, this comes out as feasible adaptation (of those very same concepts) and a step in the right direction for the industry as well.
The Box Office reception however raises a few questions. It does make me wonder about the general audience and their preferences. They repeatedly complain about the oversupply of remakes in the industry, yet they fail to show up and convey their gratitude when somebody tries to do something out of the box for a change. You may or may not adhere to what the film displays but you gotta give it to the creators for taking the chances; kind words, and a little appreciation will go a long way.

The character reference can resemble to many Hollywood movies ,but the story is fresh to Indian Audience . Overall it's a good attempt in Sci Fi genre by Hindi Cinema.
Compared to many Big budget movie released recently The VFX of Attack deserves an applause. BGM should have been better as they make such action movies captivating.

The movie is not bad at all god knows why it was flop
The story was new and fresh as the makers tried to make a new fusion with human and artificial intelligence..John was at his best as usual with his great body and action..the action is much appreciated in lieu to Bollywood..the required background scores were appropriate for a hard action sequences
Some elements were showdown like love story, songs, less detailing about the artificial intelligence and the climax..the makers should had made the concept of artificial intelligence very easy to understand like it was done in rajnikanths robot ..the sequences shown where only John was handling the situations singly was too much
When we can accept this of movies in Hollywood then why not ours..one has to see to encourage Bollywood to build new ideas.

Film review: Attack part 1 streaming on Zee 5
#sanjuzzreviews #AttackPart1 #johnabraham
#rakulpreetsingh
A film inspired by Universal Soldier, White House Down and Angel has Fallen; Attack part 1 is an out and out action film . Maar Dhaad galore!!
A fairly simple plot where a paralyzed commando is transformed into a super soldier using implants and artificial intelligence who then takes it upon himself to save to save the PM when the Parliament is taken over by a bunch of highly trained & motivated terrorists.
The positives first , fast paced action scenes with heart pounding adrenaline rush moments make it a fun watch for action fans.
John Abraham looks awesome as the protagonist in the action scenes. The hardwork put in shows !! RakulPreet & Prakash Raj provide valuable support to John. VFX and BGM are also decent !!
On the flip side, the antagonists seem a little pale infront of John. A worthy adversary is a key in such films. Also the final face-off with the villian is too short. I also felt that there were too many edits in the fight sequences making the scenes a bit difficult to understand.
A decent attempt at making something different. One time watch for hardcore action fans.
3/5 for this one .. adios 🙂

Commendable attempt but lacking beyond the sci fi aspects of the movie. Shades of Gerard Butler's Olympus Has Fallen, Universal soldier, Robocop was apparent throughout the movie. Bollywood sci fi movies are a tough sell, so even though IMDB ratings are high it does not convert to commercial success of the movie. John Abraham knows his limitations and works within it, his audiences appreciate him for that. Jacqueline and Rakul can be considered as glorified cameos in this movie. It's not an out and out bad movie so readers can do a coin toss before deciding to watch this one.
Attack Part One review :
John Abraham's Attack finally made it to OTT (Zee5) last weekend after its disappointing theatrical run. The sci fi concept of super soldier may have been new for Bollywood but our audience have seen Robocop (1987) and Universal Soldier (1992) before.
John plays an Army jawaan who is resurrected from his paralysed state through a live chip inserted in his neck and then thrown in to a rescue mode after terrorists attack our Delhi Parliament and hold the Prime minister captive.
The combat sequences give a video game feel and most of the action is superbly executed. The production values are decent and not a single moment jars... unlike the recent Vijay starrer rescue drama Beast (Raw in Hindi) which was unbearable.
John fits the character like a glove. Rakul and Jacqueline are wasted. Prakash Raj is earnest while Rajit Kapur makes a fool of himself playing the home minister. Attack will certainly appeal to action buffs who love their movies with large tadka of dishoom dishoom. Others may find it unpalatable!!

Well made so far, But i can't ignore all the similarities to the latest Robocop remake 2014. The few scenes either remind one of the Movie, or feels copy pasted, with a few Bollywood ad ons.
But This Movie is still Way better Then most of the Movies coming out lately. So i hope india gives it a chance.
Fight scenes looked good.

This is dark truth of Indian cinema whenever new concept arrived some haters always come to review it badly but the truth is this movie is first Indian super hero movies. It may have nothing new to watch if you watch Marvel's movies and series but believe me this is just beginning .John performance as a action hero is brilliant as always . There is some flaws but overall you must go watch in theatre once ....

The storyline is a mash of Hollywood Hits(Venom and White House Down). A Soldier who single handedly saves the day by his heroics (assisted by IRA : A computer chip placed inside him making him a super human soldier) . The Action scenes and Climax are done well and John Abraham makes it all look good. The first half drags a bit as the setup takes long but the Interval point sets it for a fast paced 2nd half. For action lovers and John Abraham fans a good watch.

Movie ideas of super army is good, jhon did it perfectly. Sometimes we should just praise people to try something different and this was absolutely different and also good.
Yes if you watch Hollywood movies too much then you will feel the sences are inspired from various movies like the scene of surgery is inspired from the incredible Hulk when abomination was getting syrum in his body.

First of all, we should start appreciating the efforts to create science fiction films in Bollywood, although the story is same as we see in other Hollywood films, it is the execution that makes the big deal. Great efforts in terms of vfx and action. The ending parliament action scene fight was great and rotating camera clip of 360 during the goon fight at market was good too. All over if worked on it more with better budget and great stories, the sequels can be made better. John Abraham delivers an earnest performance and is aptly supported by the rest of the cast with equal fervour. Jacqueline and Rakul have limited screen time and they are sincere in their delivery.

Firstly the super soldier program of using nano tech was copied from the movie bloodshot. The part of being attacked at the parliament was copied from White House down. The last scene of the flight and the bike was copied from the movie Losers.
Come on guys I can't be the only one who realized these things, the actors did a good job on their performance but it's a one star rating from my end because of the poor writing, the director from not checking the scripts or having a critic or a movie fanatic validate the script before making such a film.
The only reason this movie was watchable would be due to Mr. John's performance.

John is really trying I like his honesty he's finally doing what he wanted to do for a long time now and I know its a concept that has been experimented with a lot of times now in Hollywood but hey filmmaking is all about showing the same stuff differently.

An actual action movie with alot of effort by the makers. You will say the same when you see the CGI and VFX in the movie, many would say thatthey have copied it from Hollywood but I would beg to differ. This movie stand for itself, have something that most action movies lack that is character development but this one is better in that segment as well.
