When Archer and Pam are discussing what the idol might be, Pam breaks the fourth wall to make plain that it's definitely not a gold monkey. This is a reference to Tales of the Gold Monkey (1982), starring Stephen Collins as a dashing air cargo pilot in the South Pacific. Danger Island takes a lot of visual cues from this series, including Archer's jacket and cap, and the design of his plane (a red and white Grumman G-21 goose).
Malory incorrectly refers to the plane as a seaplane. Seaplanes have pontoons, not landing gear. However, while she was incorrect, this is not a Goof, as Malory often has shown ignorance on a variety of subjects.
