On Inglewood this was all bad. I'm waiting for Nick Cannon to grow up. I think he's stuck in that Willy Wonka syndrome. Former Nickelodeon kid still playing kids roles and putting out material for teenie boppers and 20-somethings, yet he's 40. He's got like 50 jobs in Hollywood, but can't let the kid in himself become a man with a broader, more mature quality of work. I'm born and raised in Inglewood and this movie was a disaster. With all the gang presence in the movie, the only people from "the I" I actually saw in the 45 minutes I could stomach to watch was Paul Pierce(originally from Oakland) and Mack 10 (in the opening credits). We get it; Nick's affiliated because his pops was a b-dog OG outta Diego, but this gang bang nonsense is overdone.

Nick's gotta do better with the platform he has. Step down from hosting Wildn Out (a show for teenie boppers) and just produce, and stop being cast as the gang banger hoodlum like in this movie and ChiRaq at 40 years of age. The acting, writing and cameos were all bad bruh. Rooting for Nick to do a quality project.

    2/10
    Whack
This is the most hood movie ever. Even worse than I got the hook up. Nick Cannon was amazing in a few movies like Drumline and Undercover Classman but this wanted to make me cry.
  • Why they still produce this kind of thing is amazing... White chick + black, poor and repressed neighbourhood driving Mercedes (!!!) We get it!!! Move along!!

    Warning: Spoilers
Nothing new here in this predictable mess. Also who wrote this mess homeless white girl living in a shelter. Oh ok Dad died, but wait where is her Mom she surely can save her homeless daughter she shows up at the hero game at the end of the movie. Also I guess no black girls live in Inglewood just mixed chicks and Latinas smh. Horrible!

I lasted 40 min and turned it off. Rare for me to turn off a movie but it happened. Had potential to be a good baller movie but the direction they went was slow and boreing. Acting was the worst.
  • It is running 2/10 here because it is unwatchable. Comedy? To whom? Basketball coach movie with no heart or soul.
  • Warning: Spoilers
The starts out as if it going to be a "Bring it on" type of thing involving girl's basketball in Inglewood. Shelby (Melody Rae ) is the ringer white girl who will come in and save a losing team. That was not the film. It was another save Inglewood from the developers type of film fill with Boyz in the Hood type of bad drama competing with basketball for screen time. Shelby can't act and it appears they created a role for the Cedric who was not an entertainer.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

This movie is good regardless of how you look at it. It has depth, heart, passion. Stop giving Nick Cannon Fake hate actually see the movie for what it is..... A Great Movie.
  • First off this movie wasn't marketed to the people that have already given it negative reviews. It will please the market it was made for. Not too low brow but just about the right amount of eye candy, comedy, and message.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Layups, layups and more layups and some drama then some more layups. Street ball so tough. With all them layups and 3s that are 2s oh yeah and more layups.
  • He might be the worst "actor" in the business. He's terrible in every way. The worst part is that he thinks he's some kind of visionary or intellectual, but really he is just a simple, dumb little man.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Nick has been a great game show / network host over the years. & had one movie where his acting was good (drum line). I thought he was just an actor in this movie , but he directed it as well. It makes complete sense , sprinkling his racism theories / prejudices & preaching all over it . The one kitchen scene is "word for word" how he feels. He doesn't like white people it's very apparent (with his past interviews and rants and now this scene that he directed) . Besides that. The movie is called "she ball " specifically so he could just put a bunch of good looking females into a movie nothing else, with a little girl who actually is talented but this movie wasn't even about basketball lol . Besides the one little girl who was a good ball player all he did was Get a few big names in the hip hop community to get people to watch it , then he just tried to make a "deep" movie (like he's spike Lee or something) & adds his not so "subliminal" and "preechy" vibes sprinkled all over it. Big hypocritical mess. Just hip hop music and women, to keep you a tiny bit entertained .

Good and fun movie to watch.

    Great story, good content.

Haapy to see all the celebrities in it.
  • I do not think the movie was that bad.

The black power message was clear and how we have to stand up and change our community.

    Black Power Ya'll.!!

There were some actors that brought down the film.

As an actor your suppose to play someone else not be yourself.

Nick Cannon, Chris Brown, and Evan Ross did a good job becoming their characters.

The movie had some funny parts and dramatic parts.

    The music was amazing!

Thanks to Chris, Birdman and Cashmoney.

    And all the other artists!.

This movie was mainly a sports drama in my eyes.

A drama in the hoood. Lol.

Some may find it boring if you not into a lot of watching people play basketball.

I don't understand the negative reviews whatsoever! It was a little slow at the beginning, but then it was fun and heartfelt. I didn't want it to end so soon!

The movie gave a good message about getting out the hood. Nick Cannon played a great roles model he was like that overprotective dad who stands up for his rights as a black man should.

They should have taken their time with the movie and it supposed to be longer. It definitely worth a watch though.
  • Definitely some nuggets were dropped regarding "Racism" and "Prejudice" explaining how they are different in both the white and African American culture. I loved how it showcased inclusion after solving some issues within the black community. The negative for me was the objectification of the women.
