  • As a university student, soon to be Oficer Of The Watch in Merchant Navy i find this show very informative. Better to learn on someone else mistake than to make them yourself and sink a vessel. Sometimes information about ships are simplified to not bore the audience, and that would be only one thing that i disliked about the show, for example in S01E04 Narrator said that the Vessel had ice class, but he didn't specified which ice class was it. But other than that i give the show solid 5/5, you should give it a try even if you are not a maritime enthusiast. It's a shame that there are only 3 seasons of this show.
  • "The danger was that the ship was going to sink and take the rescuers with it." This bit of commentary exemplifies the stupidity of the writing. I can forgive real survivors their lack of speaking skills, but the narration and the "expert" commentary is ludicrous and ridiculously over dramatic. It's watchable, but barely.
  • As a retired licensed Chief Engineer (unlimited horsepower) there are numerous inaccuracies. The Captain and Chief Engineer know better than to allow many of poor repairs to the vessel and leave port. My experience has all been on inspected vessels though. The apparent lack of professionalism is concerning with these stories.
