There isn't much to be said about this video since there isn't much to be seen as well, whether being the edited version or not, all that matter is
the awesome song behind it. In fact, "All I Wanna Do" is one of the most tacky and boring clips I've ever seen with its images of floating people who doesn't
add anything to the great lyrics by Sheryl about a man she met a bar (Bill, Mack or buddy, credit here but nowhere to be seen in the video), who didn't seem to had a whole fun in his whole life and other similar things. All I
wanna do is have some fun...but I didn't get that with this simple clip involving Crow and band performing the song. So, here's a case of a music video that
doesn't sell the song, neither helps it to become a memorable visual art...but the music is excellent, first rate, one of her best moments.
My idea for a good video to be companion of this music would be a presentation of what exactly the lyrics describe, the stories, the feelings and
emotions, nothing but that. But having just a performance piece where floating guys and gals throw coins to her lovely act was just silly and had nothing to
do with the great music material they had available. So, my thumbs up goes for the enthuasiasm brought into the singer/band performance and the song itself.
It's a harmless clip, far from being a memorable important landmark or significant even for 1990's MTV high standards then. 6/10
