  • I'm always skeptical when it comes to remakes, especially since the original Skam was such an incredible show that resonated with me as a teenager. I was worried that the remakes (I believe there are six total) would become carbon copies of the original, but Skam Italia is not. It follows the original story line while adding its own unique flair and staying true to Italian culture. The second season is especially amazing. The acting is sublime, the chemistry between the two leads is off-the-charts, and the way that Martino's coming out is depicted is realistic, touching, and inspiring. I also appreciate the portray of Borderline Personality Disorder, a mental illness that is rarely presented in media. All in all, I love this show. I look forward to seeing where it goes, while also learning more about Italian culture.

  • PERFECTO!!!!!!! I AM AN AMERICAN and I discovered this AMAZINGLY PERFECT remake on YouTube. GRAZIE! SkamItalia's Martino & Niccoló are PERFECTION! Even better than SkamFrance's Lucas & Elliot. And I'm in love with BOTH ships!!!!

This was one incredible series, a fantastic remake with a cast second to none. I was touched so many times by these characters that were so well played. Many are the problems touched in the series and always with a realistic way of looking at things, and with the revelation that sometimes things can go well too. My favourite characters are(/is) Martinico, a duo that with the enormous skills of the actors will let you understand more than meets the eyes. Thank you so much for these series and thank you for being the actors/actresses you are.

    Amazing
There are way too many low marks for a series of this quality. Just amazing. I'd have enjoyed it when I was a teenager just as I enjoyed it now - there are so many layers to the characters and their stories that really it will appeal to a very varied audience.

Skam Italia, in its attempt to explore adolescent dynamics, blatantly embodies the term "cringe." Unfortunately, acting proves to be one of the series' major weaknesses. Characters often seem out of context, and their portrayal is annoying, lacking authenticity and emotional depth. This negatively impacts the viewer's immersion in the narrative.

Dialogues, another crucial element, turn out to be boring, useless, and characterized by a slowness that compromises the plot's rhythm. The lack of meaningful phrases or intriguing debates leaves a void that isn't satisfactorily filled. This contributes to an overall disappointing experience for viewers seeking engaging and well-written storytelling.

The frequent reliance on clichés represents another point of criticism. The series seems to depend too often on stereotypical and predictable situations, lacking originality and freshness. This formulaic approach to storytelling significantly reduces the emotional impact and viewer interest in the plot's developments.

Characterization, a key element for the success of any story, is a real sore point. The inability to give depth and nuances to the protagonists means that the audience fails to connect with them. Instead of eliciting empathy, characters risk generating a feeling of disdain as their actions and motivations appear unconvincing and often inconsistent.

In conclusion, Skam Italia unfortunately falls into the realm of what I would define as "cinematic trash." The combination of lacking acting, banal dialogues, and poorly characterized characters makes this series a challenging recommendation for viewers looking for quality and original content. Hopefully, future productions can learn from these shortcomings, improving the overall quality of television narratives.
