  • A film offering the premises of hope. And good start point to real kick to discover, again, the beauty of life, to see, with some trust, the future , and more optimistic the near one.

Sure, the situation is pure unrealistic. It is not an exception across French films with social subject but it works exactly for the reserves about status of slice of near reality of the friendship and mutual help of adult and boy.

It is well acted and perfect after a tough work day. And, i suppose, it is just enough. A man in a profound crisis at each level of his existence. A bunch of kids stealing his phone. A bizarre and real strange relation with one of young thieves. And something easy, maybe not so correct, defined as life lessons.

So, not exactly a bad film.
  • But also a bit improbable, unfortunately. The friendship which raises between a man and a boy. A man who lost his job and his wife who left him, bringing the kid with her. A man whose cell phone is stolen by a bunch of petty gypsy punks, especially a ten years old boy. A man who will shortly catch this boy and will turn him as his friend. Who will believe this? Not me, for sure, but that's after all a smooth and moving little tale, far from clichés. It presents true life as it doesn't exist. In those gloomy days, some one may need this kind of topic. I never got bored.
