This is not a fun movie, but it has moments both fun and sad. It is a thought provoking movie in several ways. It makes implied statements about 1) the effects of racial injustice; 2) prejudice against gays; 3) prejudice against "druggies"; 4) government coverups; and 5) ethics of medical/psychological research on live human subjects. I won't say a lot about any of those subjects beyond what I've already said. There are internet articles that provide information and viewpoints about the experiment.
The movie had plenty to do with social comment, but it also showed a number of relationships up close. Many of these were touching and interesting.
Despite the inclusion of at least two recurring Hallmark actors (Bristow and Kohan), and possibly directors or writers, this is not a rom/com. I doubt we'll ever see it on that channel.
I watched this because of one particular actor and "enjoyed" it, assuming a broad definition of "enjoy".
