Dear review section, not every show is supposed to be the next Sesame Street in terms of impact or ground broke. I'm not saying it's okay to make bad shows, but the show is ultimately harmless and cute, plus it at least tries, unlike some certain preschool shows.

This show is from the creators of Blue's Clues, and is sort of like Blue's Clues because it has a human interacting with non-human characters, and both combine animation and live-action. Gabby is a very strong protagonist, who acts as the big good and peacekeeper of the dollhouse, plus she's a great role model for black girls.

The cats in the dollhouse are very memorable and unique. Baby Box's animation is very unique because it's stilted and slow to make it appear as if she's in stop-motion, which is quite impressive to do in CGI. My favorite cat is CatRat, he's hilarious and brings a lot of humor and snark to what otherwise would be a very saccharine show. Plus, he's voiced by Donovan Patton (aka Joe from Blue's Clues and Bot from Team Umizoomi) and you can't go wrong with him. Cakey is so annoying when she cries though.

It's just very comforting and promotes imaginative play, problem solving, and social and emotional skills. Although I think Cakey's crying is annoying, I like the lesson on deep breathing that comes afterwards in the first episode.

Check it out if you have kids, boys and girls alike will love it.

My four year old LOVES it, and it's cute! Gabby shrinks down to doll-size & plays with all the cats in her cat-doll house. Every episode I've seen includes a problem that needs to be solved & there are cat-puns throughout (you gotta be kitten me!).
  • Ok for one I must give credit where it's due the animation is solid (cept the human the lips look ridiculous) and it is a genuinely good show for little kids, it was created by the creator of Blues Clues and, It's fun to roast too What can go wrong? It's void of humor it is on the same standard of fart jokes in movies (cat puns are so 2012) also it is basically kids YouTube toys review, THE SHOW!!! Overly exaggerated reactions especially from a 12 year old would have been funny if it was either a preschooler and she get points for being black too #BLM yet she is too saccharine for a 12 year old i would've liked some attitude in her also CatRat tries to be funny yet he could be funnier and the humans traveling into a cgi universe is a good concept It's all a good concept with good animation and even though i do not favor the slice of life story and she could have developed character yet it does not have to be like that it is a good slice of life show so some changes i would make ( this is just my personal opinion like what I would do if I) made the show because it has some potential 1: Make CatRat Funnier Nothing dirty just some self aware humor and pop culture references then he would be one of my favorite characters. 2. Make Gabby more of a preteen Make her still be a good role model and the interactive part was fun yet make her animated lips slightly smaller (seriously she looks like the Pokemon Weepinbell (No disrespect to Weepinbell.) also don't make her so dang saccharine make her a realistic 12 year old like don't make her depressing but give her a little bit of personality and attitude Also side note in the game episode they did not win every time that was good teaching kids a little bit of the real world Also make the DJ more like a stereotypical dj sunglasses, record discs, the whole 9 yards other than that it's a good show that tried yet has big shoes to fill because of Blues Clues

I can't say enough good things about this show. Every episode has a positive message. The little girl is precious with her natural hair. The music and script are very well written. And both my kids (ages 1 and 6) LOVE it.
  • I'm a 39 year old man who likes Horror movies and heavy metal, but I was introduced to Gabby's Dollhouse by my pre-K daughter. I have been incredibly impressed with the quality of the show. The little girl who plays Gabby is so good that it feels truly genuine, even when it's a bit cheesy. I highly recommend to picky parents who want to watch something with their little one.
  • This show could not be any sweeter. Laila Lockhart Kraner is a fabulous guide into her magical dollhouse. Her bubbly personality is infectious. The mix of real world and cartoon is a unique characteristic in the toddler show genre. This show is brought to us by Traci Page Johnson, the creator of Blue's Clue's. Those familiar with the original series will be able to feel the similarity between the two. (Bonus! Donovan Patton, a.k.a. Joe, is the voice of Catrat). This show kept my three toddler boys enraptured from beginning to end. This will definitely stay on our short list of shows to rewatch over and over and over. Catistic!
  • My 3 year old daughter is obsessed with this show! I hope more series come to Netflix uk soon! When the show asks viewers help / questions she joins in. Its a show I don't mind her watching.

The hamster kitties song is stuck in my head all the time at the moment
  • Is the lead charismatic and talented? Yes Does it entertain 5 year olds? Yes Is there anything redeeming about this show? NO.
  • My 2 yr old son loves this show. Super interactive and fun. Please keep making them!!!
  • Overall the show is cute and interactive enough to hold my 2½ year olds attention. As a pet parent though, I have concerns about Floyd's health and well being. Someone please put this poor cat on a diet. This is not an ideal example of a well taken care of pet, especially from a girl who is cat crazy. I also find it strange there are no DJ Catnip plushies. He's my son's favorite.
  • I absolutely adore this show! As a grown woman this show is even enjoyable for me to watch with my child. Every episode provides a positive message for boys and girls. It teaches children to love themselves, be creative, teamwork and self care. I love the episode where Gabby and Pandi teaches deep breathing exercise.

My daughters enjoyed this & picked up on the characters positive mindset. I love how they have subtly introduced the concept of a growth mindset with some mindful breathing thrown in. We need more shows like this with positive role models - possibly aimed at a slightly older audience. I hope Netflix release another season. At times it's a little sickly sweet but my kids didn't mind.

I showed this to my little cousin, who's 3, I was trying to find something else for him to watch and I found this. He was hooked as soon as he heard Gabby talk. He would interact with the TV and it's a good show for sensory learning. I started doing the activities they do in the craft room as well. It's a show I don't mind watching over and over!
  • The new favourite for my daughter. See ya, blippi.

Doesn't really have any original ideas or any solid educational messages but they do pick a theme for each episode and they stick with it. It's more like mindless entertainment for little ones.

A lot of the characters and designs are forgettable, I mean, they named a little animated cake "Cakey".

I see a lot of 10 star reviews but this doesn't hold a candle to many modern kids shows
  • I find it difficult to find shows that my 2-year old want to watch and is appropriate for her. But she loves this show and will respond to the questions and sing along to the songs. And I can see that this show will also be very entertaining for her in a couple of years, when she's a little older. But I'm surprised how much she seems to understand the show now. Very toddler-friendly. I really hope new episodes will be made.
  • The idea for the show is cool - mix of real life and cartoon. As well the "do it yourself" section at the end of every episode. Laila Lockhart is an entertaining and warm host. I did not like that Laila has make up. In the second episode the mermaid cat sings a song about spa and "mani pedi". My daughters are 2.5 and 4.5 year-old. Netflix released the show without an age limit. I think a 3 or 4 year-old child should not be exposed to such content.

My 3 year old son loves Gabby's Dollhouse. Many shows today are not up to par like this show. My sons imaginative play and creativity have progressed since we started watching the show. I always had a hard time getting him to play independently so this has helped sooo much! Definitely recommend to any young kid. It's cute to watch with him and it's enjoyable and the writing is well done.

My 5 year old daughter loves this show and I love to watch it with her. It' also holds the attention of my 8 and 10 year old sons which is a fantastic bonus since my daughter loves it when her big brothers are with her doing what she wants to do :). Looking forward to many more magical and adorable seasons. Bravo 👏🏾
  • Pretty annoying show with over acting and sparkles and mermaids and kitties and sprinkles and snacky wack time and all that cheesy stuff. My four year old said it was for babies. True is waaay better all around

My 7 year old daughter loves it!! We even have a dollhouse set up in her room
  • The show is cute and all, but there's one subtle problem.

That live cat that is Gabby's pet in the non-animated sections is badly overweight, to a point that would definitely cause health problems. Children look up to this show; they should NOT take that cat as an example of a healthy pet. For a show that's all about promoting cats they should damn well take better care of the live one.

    Cute
It's sweet, cute, and the actress is adorable. My 3 year old son is obsessed. He has watched it at minimum 20 times each episode. It's all he requests :)
