Nest of Vipers Parts 1-3
The fun of the Mark McManus Taggart episodes is to see how the various strands tie together at the end.
The direction here always makes it clear that anyone can be a suspect. So you can have someone in the background just giving a sideways glance to remind the viewer that they cannot be discounted.
Annie Gilmour's daughter disappeared some years ago. When two skulls are found, a forensic professor hopes to reconstruct their faces which could aid their identification. However he is poisoned by a spider's bite.
Then a research lab is broken into and some snakes are stolen. Later several of the staff are then bitten by snakes in their homes or cars. The antidote does not work on them.
Taggart has helped Annie over the years and it seems one of the skull's recovered could be her daughter. Finding her killer could be difficult.
Finding the killer of the lab staff is just as problematic as there seems to be no motive.
Definitely not the story to watch if you do not like snakes or spiders, it could seriously creep you out.
Overall it is rather preposterous but it slithers along very nicely.
