Unresolved Questions From "The Walking Dead" Season 7 Finale7 of 11
7. Will Maggie officially take over Hilltop from Gregory?
This clown. Just look at him. Seriously. Gregory (Xander Berkeley) keeps proving he's a sneaky coward who can't be trusted to even kill a walker without screaming for help. And yet, he is still technically in charge of Hilltop, and there still seem to be residents who see him as the leader and will do as he says. Will that stay the case into Season 8?
Gregory wasn't even shown in the Season 7 finale — you'll never see him jump in to help save the day — and it's not clear exactly where he went. But if Maggie officially takes over, that would push Gregory over to Team Negan, unless Negan recognizes that he has no use for Gregory either. But if Gregory sticks around, can he be trusted with any information or will he just wait for the slightest reason to share that intel with Negan, to try and get a better deal?
