Lauren Cohan

"The Walking Dead" star Lauren Cohan has booked the lead role in the ABC drama pilot "Whiskey Cavalier," an hour-long action dramedy that follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) who, following an emotional break-up, is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (Cohan). Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny, heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.

Katie Holmes will star in a new Fox untitled drama pilot from Ilene Chaiken and Melissa Scrivner Love. Holmes will play FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis, who is in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion--an affair with a prominent general-- shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Now labeled “the mistress,” Otis begins to rebuild her personal life and professional reputation. Holmes will also serve as an executive producer on the project.

The "Magnum P.I." reboot pilot has cast Jay Hernandez as the iconic private eye, previously played by Tom Selleck. Hernandez will play Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.

Judy Greer has been cast in the upcoming Showtime series “Kidding.” Jim Carrey will star as Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children’s television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America’s impressionable young minds and the parents who grew up with him, who also anchors a multimillion dollar branding empire. Greer will play Jill, Jeff’s estranged wife who has recently hit a rebellious streak. She joins previously announced cast members Catherine Keener and Frank Langella.

Mary J. Blige has signed on for her first series regular role in "The Umbrella Academy," the TV adaptation of Gerard Way's comic series. The series follows the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes who work together to solve their father’s mysterious death while coming apart at the seams because of their divergent personalities and abilities.

Meryl Streep has joined the cast of "Big Little Lies" Season 2 on HBO. Streep will play Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård). Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son Perry’s death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers.

CBS has given 13-episode series order to Murphy Brown, a revival of the 1988 sitcom with its creator Diane English and star Candice Bergen both set to return. Warner Bros. TV, which was behind the original series, is the sole studio. Bergen will reprise her role as the famous investigative journalist and TV anchor at the FYI Network, as Murphy Brown returns to a world of cable news.

John Malkovich

John Malkovich has signed on for a guest starring role in Season 3 of the Showtime drama "Billions." Malkovich will play Russian billionaire Grigor Andolov. Malkovich previously played a Russian mobster named Teddy KGB in Rounders, which was written by "Billions" co-creators David Levien and Brian Koppelman.

Brett Dier in Jane the Virgin (2014)

Jane the Virgin fan favorite Brett Dier is set to star in the CBS comedy pilot "History of Them."

The multi-cultural project recounts how two friends, Luna (South Beach‘s Ana Villafañe) and Adam (Dier), met and fell in love, using the couple’s social-media profiles as a guide. Adam is described as an adorable and slightly nerdy web cartoonist who is determined to sow his oats before getting into his next long-term relationship.

Lisa Edelstein

As "Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce" comes to an end, Lisa Edelstein is already moving on. She is developing an hour-long series adaptation of "Confessions of a Sociopath."

Based on M.E. Thomas’ book, "Confessions of a Sociopath" centers on a woman (Edelstein) who is clinically diagnosed as a sociopath and must figure out how to live her life with this knowledge. Edelstein is co-writing the pilot with Carol Barbee.
