This is one of my all-time favorite submarine movies, the other 2 being CRIMSON TIDE and HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER. Having served on an SSBN it brings back lots of memories. And I just re-read the book. Great action and tense drama. Looking to get a copy of this. Hoped it'd come out on DVD, but so far it hasn't. I'd buy a copy of the movie on VHS if someone has a good copy, please email me.

Just rented and viewed the DVD. I seem to remember a scene where MacDonald is confronted by Kolp and Gov. Breck as to helping Caesar, due to cameras in the hall(tunnel) where he talked to Caesar. This was not on here. Does anyone else remember this scene or am I imagining it?

I just saw Battle for the Planet of the Apes again on AMC. I think a scene was missing. I thought I remembered a scene sometime after Kolp and his army do not return to the forbidden city; in which Alma and the others were supposed to set off the doomsday bomb, but they decide not to. Instead they decide to become guardians of its destructive power.

Also, who is that aide to Kolp who remains behind? It sort of looks like Mark Lenard.
