Detective
(2005)

Great Movie
It's so good to see Tom Berenger in a role that's perfect for him, although he's top notch in anything he does. This one, as a priest turned detective, and as a family man, could not have been more suitable. Ainsley not only solves these brutal murders, but has to try to reconcile with his wife, and make his young son understand why his job keeps him from home so much of the time.. He handles all facets of this like the pro that he is. I still cannot understand why Hallmark never released this in the USA, and chose to send it directly to DVD. They very tastefully removed the gore that was in the book, which made it suitable for even the Hallmark Channel. Well written and suspenseful, with an excellent cast it followed Arthur Hailey's book to the T!

Peacemakers
(2003)

A Great New Series
The pilot lives up to all my expectations! Tom Berenger is perfect as Jared Stone. This multi-talented actor can play any role, but seems to really enjoy this one. He gives the same degree of toughness, intelligence, compassion, and humor to this role, as he did in Last of the Dogmen. I hope this is renewed for many seasons to come.

Watchtower
(2001)

Great Thriller
One of the best of Tom Berenger's latest. It should have had a theatrical release. He plays a hero or villain equally well. This one sent chills down my spine, and even though they let the viewer know who the killer was in the beginning, it still had a surprise ending. Editing was excellent, too. I wish we'd see more of this talented actor!

Last of the Dogmen
(1995)

Wonderful Movie.. Wonderful DVD
I was thrilled to see this great film released on DVD. It's such a shame it wasn't given proper presentation when it was first released theatrically. They have done a fantastic job with the DVD. So many special features. The Director's cut, the featurettes, even a section on the authentic native American costumes, all give a fascinating insight into the difficulties in making a movie like this. My hat's off to Tab Murphy's writing and direction, and of course Tom Berenger (the perfect Lewis Gates)and Barbara Hershey. Thanks too, to HBO for producing a fine DVD.

In the Company of Spies
(1999)

In a word.. EXCITING!
This was every bit as good as the trailers indicated! The role was made for Tom Berenger, but the entire cast was perfect. It's refreshing to see our Government in a good light, since bashing it seems to be the trend these days. It puts back some pride in our country. Congratulations to Showtime for producing a movie far superior to most of what Hollywood is turning out these days. This story SCREAMS FOR A SERIES. I certainly hope Showtime will do it.

Gideon
(1998)

A Beautiful Film
It's so refreshing to see a movie that's warm. decent, and well played by the entire cast.. A real 'feel good' experience. Christopher Lambert in the title role, is excellent. He seemed to reach the depth of the character of Gideon. Add to his performance, people such as Charlton Heston, Shirley Jones, and it makes this truly memorable..

One Man's Hero
(1999)

Great Historic Movie
I have just seen this wonderful account of a piece of history that we haven't even heard of until now. It is a story that needed to be told. We have faced the truth about the injustices done to the African-Americans and the Native-Americans. Why did they feel they had to hide this from us. These men weren't even citizens of our country. They were lied to, abused, and denied the freedom of religion, or even human dignity, that they were promised. Any wonder they deserted to something better. Tom Berenger gives a marvelous portrayal of John Riley, as does the rest of the cast. It is not an easy film to watch, but one that every American should see. This was a true labor of love, for Tom Berenger as well as Lance and Conrad Hool, and they had to fight every step of the way to get it made. It was worth the fight. I loved it!
