Magic
(1978)

Slow but Chilling
Hopkins does a wonderful job with a tedious script. It's not adventurous really but it tells the story in a truthful, believable way. Anyone who enjoys movies with main characters who are a little left of center would enjoy this one.

The Mask of Zorro
(1998)

Big Hands or a small baby?
In Zorro, Anthony and Antonio do a wonderful job making a modern fairy tale movie. Not since the old Zorro tv show has a real life person (without superpowers) been in the entertainment scene. Hopkins is first rate. I enjoy when he is telling a story to his baby girl and puts his hand on her body. It is a touching moment. Is it my imagination that Anthony has large hands?

The Edge
(1997)

What One Man Can Do, Another Can Do
The Edge is an original movie. There have been movies with stranded people, fighting for survival and movies with jealous lovers trying to kill the rich spouse, but how often has there been such an adventurous story combining them both? It seems Hopkins has befriended Bart the Bear with multiple appearances with the new star. The scenery in Alaska is magnificent. It's almost as if the viewer is there on the plane. I wonder if Charles Morse did start a new life.

The Road to Wellville
(1994)

Silly Flick
This movie does not seem to have a point or to tell a story. Lots of things are happening, yet, they really do not end up meaning anything until the last ten minutes of the film. I sat through the torturous duration of the film solely because I am an avid Hopkins fan. I would only recommend it to health nuts with great senses of humor.

Shadowlands
(1993)

The best love story ever.
Debra Winger and Anthony Hopkins are first rate in this film. It is a story packed with emotion. Because it's a true story, feelings are magnified. Too often love stories are improbable with fairy tale endings. Shadowlands focuses on the personal life of one man (C.S. Lewis) and one woman (Joy Gresham) and their unique relationship. I would recommend this movie to anyone, especially history buffs. But, be warned, it may evoke strong feelings of love and sadness.

The Silence of the Lambs
(1991)

Great Movie!
I became a devoted fan of Hopkins and Foster after I saw this movie. I also bought my own copy. It's one of those movies that keeps you on the edge of the seat, wondering if 'our little Billy must be searching for that next special someone' in our neighborhood. Apparently there's a possible sequal in the making. Let's hope so. The cast of this movie must have made quite an impact. Watch FREEWAY and notice the multitude of actors with small parts in both movies. Enjoy!
