Attack of the Gryphon
(2007)

Gryphon
I have mixed emotions about Gryphon. I thought the idea was really good. The special effects of the Gryphon were terrible as much as I like Jonathan LaPaglia, he just read his lines as if he was still on The District where a lot of the other actors at least tried to give it a medieval accent.

All in all it was an exciting movie, if not anything that would get an award and not the worst turkey I've ever seen, and I've seen some real good turkeys. I think the main thing if you haven't seen this film. It's what the viewer would like to see and how the viewer would like it. It's not for everyone, but as the old saying goes. One man's trash is another's treasure. I'm not going to throw it in the trash, but probably won't be taking it out of storage for quite a while.

Picket Fences
(1992)

I loved this show
Unfortunately due to my hours I wasn't able to watch it when it was originally aired, but I would hear my family mention it in passing about what they watched. Then in the latter 90's I was flipping around to try to find something to watch in the early afternoon after I got off work and came upon a program where the courthouse of a small town was under siege from American Indians I believe and from that day I was hooked. I loved this program, yes some parts of it were weird to crazy, but it was very enjoyable. Yes they went through quite a few mayors, and as much as they died off I wouldn't want to be a mayor there, but I would love to move to a town like that.

Hot Rackets
(1979)

a good little movie
If you have the chance to see this film, be sure to listen carefully to what's being said on the radio in the opening scene: Informed government sources say "Traces of meat have been found in McDonalds hamburgers", "Skid Roll Slasher shoots the Hillside Strangler."

Hot Rackets is a good little movie from the late '70s. There's quite a few erotic scenes to keep you interested. This movie is about a man that, like all men, enjoy sex, but his wife doesn't. So he finds it elsewhere. Should I mention he also likes to swing? He goes to his tennis club for fun and pleasure. At the club is a masseuse, I should be so lucky to be massaged that way. His wife goes to the club thinking her husband is cheating on him and receives a lesson in how to take care of her man. The husband and wife skydive into a friend's party that turns out to be a swinger's party. In the end the wife joins the tennis club and shows her man how happy she can make him.

World Without End
(1956)

It is a little corny
Yes this movie is a little corny, but most of the sci-fi/horror movies of that time were corny, but still fun to watch. And this movie still has a good underlining story. The astronauts find themselves in another world from the one they left, their families and homes are gone and mutants attack them. Then they find another race like their own. And after fighting the mutants and the others they work together to start to rebuild the Earth. Corny but good.

Carnal Desires
(1999)

Cute movie
I just saw this movie early this morning. It's a cute little soft core porno. Interesting idea. Nothing that's going to win any awards and nothing for hard core fans, but nice and fanciful. The movie gets a little involved with who's having sex with whom. The main character/masseuse and his business partner. Then the main character and his prospective loan agents mistress, then his wife, then the loan agent and the masseuse's business partner. Would be a good idea to have a pencil and piece a paper to keep things straight.

Scary Movie
(2000)

I absolutely loved this movie
My wife and I and a friend went to this movie the day after it opened in the Long Beach area. I do wish it was rated NC17 as we took our 13 year old girls. Had we known there were pictures and references to male anatomy we wouldn't have taken them. But that was the only reason we wouldn't have taken them. Some of the jokes were ongoing, like the joke about a main character being gay, but it was done in such a way that we thought it was funny and kept getting funnier. The Irish jig that was referred to was from River Dance, which was a bit also done in Wrongfully Accused starring Leslie Nielsen. I would definitely recommend anyone that loves comedy/parody to see this, but would also caution taking young children. And to set the record straight I'm a 45 year old and my wife is 53 and we both enjoyed it very much. When it comes out on video we will be purchasing it.

The Private Lives of Adam and Eve
(1960)

Wonderful little movie
It's been years since I saw this movie, but I thought it was wonderful. It's about a group of travelers that get stranded in a storm and start talking about the creations with each traveler becoming a character in the creation. While there's some religious overtones this is a comedy and playing the devil is Mickey Rooney. The Devil (Rooney) trying to get Adam and Eve to take a bite of the apple. Dressed as the snake, his tail splashing in the water of a river and then dressed as an umpire. I can't remember what was said, I just remember I was laughing a lot and it was late at night. If you have the chance I suggest you watch this, it's worth your time. As it was said above this movie didn't win any awards, but I liked it and would buy it if they put it on DVD.

Cloud Dancer
(1980)

Excellent aerobatic scenes
The plot's a little thin in this film. It deals with competition aerobatics and the main character's unwillingness to be in a long term relationship for fear of passing on a defective gene to future children. The side plot is teaching a rising aerobatic pilot the tricks of aerobatics while teaching him to live by clean living and giving up trafficing in drugs. Even with the thin plot the aerobatics and filming were good and this was a very entertaining and well done film.

Plan 9 from Outer Space
(1957)

This movie is so bad it's great!
I remember growing up and watching this movie before I even knew who Ed Wood was. But then after seeing the movie Ed Wood and buying Plan 9 and some of his other movies I learned to appreciate his movies. Not that his movies were works of art, but they're interesting and fun movies.

13 Ghosts
(1960)

Interesting horror movie
I saw this back when I was 6 years old. At the time the movies were in to using gimmicks. The gimmick for this movie was a "viewer" that the audience would hold up to see the ghost. It had 2 shades a blue one for seeing the ghost and red one to avoid seeing the ghost (or visa versa). I enjoyed it very much and was lucky enough to purchase a copy of the movie on video tape.

Alice in Wonderland: An X-Rated Musical Fantasy
(1976)

Wonderful combination of adult material and music
Wonderful movie. Adult content. Lots of erotic scenes plus excellent music and dance scenes. My wife and I absolutely loved this movie and wish they'd make more like it.
