Murder Rap: Inside the Biggie and Tupac Murders
(2015)

Brilliant Documentary That Solves the Tupac and Biggie Murder Cases
In this amazing documentary one of the key witnesses says: "What I do have to tell you is gonna blow your f***ing minds!". And that is exactly what this documentary is going to do - it will blow your f***ing mind!

It is based on taped confessions of key players involved in the murders of late rap icons Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, that have never previously been shown on film according to the filmmakers. In these confessions we learn exactly who were involved in both hits, who the respective shooters were, and - most importantly - who ordered the respective murders. The extremely compelling and convincing evidence points to two very prominent persons...

The lead detective, Greg Kading, whose criminal investigation this film is based on, is also interviewed extensively. His deep knowledge about these cases and his highly plausible and rational explanations, together with the explosive taped confessions, form the basis of the films narrative.

This is without a doubt a must-see documentary. It will probably appeal to most people, even those who are not interested in rap music and who are not familiar with its subjects, simply because the story that unfolds is so incredibly compelling. Basically I think it would appeal to anyone who likes a good murder mystery. But of course, for fans of the two slain artists, the documentary will naturally provide yet another dimension.

Due to unfortunate and vexing circumstances that are revealed in the film, these murders are still unprosecuted. However, after you have watched this masterpiece, you will know that they have finally been solved.

Memento
(2000)

Fantastic!! =)
I saw this film almost by chance when I was on vacation in Spain. I had never heard of it, and that's why I decided to see it. And I'm glad I did. Very glad!

This is a fantastic film! Original, intelligent, funny, interesting... and the list goes on and on... This is definatly a must see, and if you miss it, then it's your loss...

GO SEE IT NOW!! =)

Being John Malkovich
(1999)

Unique yes, but not sympathetic at all!!
Everyone seems to love this film, because it's so unique and bizarre! And sure it has it's fun and interesting parts, but as a hole it's almost disgusting! The characters are so stupid and selfish and unsympathetic, that I got p***ed off!

Another thing I didn't like is: that films like this usually have something to say, about life, or relationships, or whatever. But "Being John Malkovich" doesn't tell us anything at all. It's just a pointless film that lives on it's unique ideas - which I'm sure the film makers were in love with. But for me it wasn't enough! Far from it!

This film also made me wonder if John Malkovich is as unsympathetic in real life, as he was in the film, since he played himself.

Also the ending is too bizarre, and just sooo bad! You won't lose any night sleep if you skip this one!!

Big Momma's House
(2000)

Is Martin Lawrence supposed to be funny??????
Oh please, spare me!! I should have known!! Why? Why did I see this film?? With Martin Lawrence in the lead, I just know in advance that it just can't be any good. I just know that the script's going to be cheesy, that the dialogue's going to be bad, that the jokes are going to be cheap and lousy, and that Martin himself is going to be unfunny in his usual I-wanna-be-Eddie-Murphy-even-though-I-don't-have-his-talent kind of way.

Eddie Murphy used to be a kick-a** comedian in the eighties, and still delivers once in a while. But wannabe Eddie's like Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker, and Chris Rock, never seem to come off as anything but loud, stupid, and childish, in my opinion.

"Big Momma's House" is a cheesy story about a stakeout of... yes, you guessed it: Big Momma's house. And as you can find out from any trailer for the film, Martin's character has to go under cover as the old and overweight lady: Big Momma. This is supposedly where Martin Lawrence's comedy routine should work miracles. But as you probably figured by now, I don't think the guy is funny. I don't even think his die hard fans could enjoy this one, because believe me, it's even worse than "Blue Streak".

Please people, don't spend your dollars, or yens, or kronor, or pesetas, or whatever on this crap. At least I saw this film for free, since I work as a movie projectionist. Don't let the producers of movies like this get any richer and fatter, unless they can give us something better than "Big Momma's House". Remember they are already counting their money since this film has become a financial success. And they need to read more good scripts instead of counting more money.

Nia Long - Hot damn! That girl is fine!! Ohhhhweeee!!!

Nuff said!!

What Lies Beneath
(2000)

Amber Valletta - good looking, even as a corpse!!!
Even though we've seen thousands of similar films, director Robert Zemeckis feels the need to give the world "What Lies Beneath".

Well, actually this film isn't as bad as I make it sound. It starts out like all the regular (or classical, if you prefer) suspense/horror films, with all the traditional, yet odd events that take place, which makes you wonder how it all will unfold. But halfway through the film the pacing slows down, at the same rate as my interest in the story decreased. Especially the ending sequence is so prolonged ("milked") for dramatic effect, that it's almost boring instead of suspense full.

Harrison Ford, who I don't think is a very good actor, gives an okay performance of an extremely boring character, and Michelle Pfeiffer steals the show as expected, with a good and solid performance of a complex character.

This film is worth watching, but nothing more. Don't expect anything special, or you'll only get disappointed.

By the way: Amber Valletta is damn good looking - even as a corpse!! If you'll check the film out, you'll know what I mean. As far as I know, I've never heard of her before. So I hope we'll see more of her in the future, in "real" roles. It would be nice to see that she's talented, and not only the beautiful woman we've seen so far.

X-Men
(2000)

Made my ass hurt!!
This film made my butt hurt!?!!? Sometimes you can sit through a three hour movie, and it keeps you captivated all the way through, not giving you a reason to think about your sitting position in the theater seat. Even though "X-Men" is about ninety minutes long, it's really slow, and it made me think about how I was sitting, and therefore it made my butt hurt. So now you know that!!

But "X-Men" is not just a pain in the a**, it's quite good, but not a must see.

The trailer for "X-Men" promises an action packed movie, as trailers often do. But "X-Men" is more of a character film, even though the characters are not that deep. So I guess this movie would be more fun for readers of the comic book, to whom I don't belong.

Anyway, I was hoping for action a la "The Matrix". And surely director Bryan Singer has been inspired a little by "The Matrix". One of the female characters makes a sideways flip in the air, and I think that shot even has the same camera angle as in the otherwise same shot in "The Matrix". This is the kind of stealing that film makers call homage. But to Bryan Singer's defense, I would like to say that he has already proven to me that he has a good visual sense, in "The Usual Suspects".

The problem with "X-Men" is that the action scenes are few and far between, even though they are visually stunning. Other than that the film has some cute scenes making it all worthwhile in the end.

I also have to add, that this is Newton Thomas Siegel's (Director of photography) best work yet.

The Perfect Storm
(2000)

The Unperfect Film
After last years "Three Kings", with the duo Cloony/Wahlberg, I was hoping for two entertaining hours, but this is not just a disaster movie, it is a real disaster. "The perfect storm" is not funny, it's not exciting, it's not moving, it's not interesting, and it's not worth paying to watch! However it is really bad.

The story is thinner than toilet paper, and the situations and events of the film are unbelievable and unrealistic.

The characters are not interesting at all. You see them laughing, crying, shouting, fighting, and uttering all the common "supposed to be touching" lines. But you're never given a reason to care for them. Unfortunately the emotions are "wasted" in this film. It's too much, it's all cliché, and it's all used before.

When is director Wolfgang Petersen going to redeem himself?

Noll tolerans
(1999)

Pretty good !!
"Noll Tolerans" is a pretty good movie even though the pacing is relatively slow for an action movie.

Most scenes in the film are quite good, but the could also have been better. It's all in the details. For example: as mentionened above, the pacing could have been faster; the dialogue could have been more interesting, the script could have been more inventive e.t.c.

The actors are very good overall, especially Jakob Eklund and Marie Richardson (a couple in real life, I think !?!?).

Anyway, this movie is pretty good and it's worth a viewing.

Little Odessa
(1994)

Superb !!
When I saw "Little Odessa" the film immediately caught me, and never let go. Like most other great films, it's structure is fairly simple, but yet so powerfull that I can guarantee it will have an impact on you. A memorable film that can handle multiple viewings without losing it's effect !!

The Blair Witch Project
(1999)

Disappointing and pointless
"The Blair Witch Project" only proves one thing ! And that is that you can have an enormously successfull movie, without the movie being any good at all. As If we didn't know that already !!

"B.W.P." doesn't have a script. It's just filled with uninteresting trivial stuff that you don't really care to watch at the movies.

The only good thing about this film is that it makes me wanna grab a VHS camera and go out and shout a full length film by myself. Because whatever I'd do, it couldn't end up worse than "B.W.P.".

This might be a spoiler, so if you haven't seen the film, and still want to see it despite my warning, then you shouldn't read any further : Am I the only one who thinks that the characters in "B.W.P." are complete idiots ! Despite everything that happens to them, they keep on filming... That's not logical, and it's far from the human nature. The only natural reaction to the events depicted in the movie would be to throw the camera's the hell away, and to do whatever one can to save ones own butt. Not to keep on filming !!

Avoid this one !!

Cruel Intentions
(1999)

Not as bad as I thought, but it still sucks bigtime !!
Script not too well written, film not well directed, Ryan Phillippe weak as usual !

Some scenes in "Cruel Intentions" are so bad that they are embarrassing. But on the other hand there are a lot of scenes with steamy sex talk, that at least gives you some physical reactions ! Yes ! I'm not kidding !!

But other than that, you can save your money and a trip to the movies.

When Harry Met Sally...
(1989)

Best love story ever made
This is a wonderful film !!

I think most love stories on film are more or less crap, because everything is so refined in them, that one end up not being able to identify oneselves feelings and actions - when in love - with the ones of the characters - supposedly in love.

"When Harry Met Sally" is an honest and straight forward film about love, and therefore completely believable.

I highly recommend this little masterpiece. I LOVE IT !!

The Rock
(1996)

So bad !
If you like to watch unintelligent movies that you've already seen a million times, then this one is perfect for you. Sure, it's fast paced and well made, but it's too much of nothing. I really love action films, but this is the type of movie that makes my brain melt. Avoid it !

Surviving the Game
(1994)

Entertaining, exciting and clever
This is a very well written and exciting movie. It's fast paced and very clever. If you like a good action flick, you won't be disappointed. A poor performance by Ice-T, but Gary Busey is at his best. The only thing I don't like about this movie is the cinematography. The film is lit like a TV-movie, and that I don't like. Highly recommended.

8MM
(1999)

No thank you !
For me Nicolas Cage is boredom personified, so that's my first reason to say: No thank you !

Joel Schumacher has directed "8MM". I've always thought he's lousy, and with this one he doesn't prove me wrong.

The script is written by Andrew Kevin Walker, who has previously written "Seven", which I think is a masterpiece. "8MM" however is really disappointing.

I didn't like "8MM" because it's boring and uninterresting. So there's not much more to say except: No thank you !

True Romance
(1993)

Goodie !!
If you've seen "True Romance" then I don't have to tell you what it's about. If you haven't seen it, I don't wanna spoil anything for you. I just want to make sure you don't miss it.

So here are a few reason why you shouldn't miss it:

Tony Scott (director) Great action director. Has made many fast paced, strong, exciting, and action packed films, like Crimson Tide, Enemy Of The State, Beverly Hills Cop 2 etc.

Quentin Tarantino (writer) Comments seem unnecessary.

Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, James Gandolfini, Tom Sizemore, Chris Penn, Bronson Pinchot, Samuel L. Jackson (actors) Who could fail with a wonderful cast like this ?

Yep, that's all folks ! except: rating: 10/10

Entrapment
(1999)

We've all seen it before
"Entrapment" is nothing new and nothing special. It has two excellent actors - that I thoroughly enjoy watching - in the leading roles: Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones, but it could just as well have been Michael Douglas/Sharon Stone or Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman. Because this movie, like most other movies, is marketed and sold through its stars.

There's nothing wrong with this movie, it's just that we've all seen it before so many times. It doesn't have anything extra at all. You know what you're gonna get, and that's it !! That's all you get. You're not gonna be bored. No, you're gonna be entertained. You're gonna get action, unexpected plot twists, some laughter, and some romance. The same ol' package. Sure it's fun to "know" what you're gonna get, and then get it, instead of being disappointed. But watching movies like "Entrapment", can sometimes feel like opening exactly the same christmas gift, year after year. That's why I think it's mediocre. And since I think it's mediocre, I'll give it the rating: 5/10

Office Space
(1999)

BY FAR THE BEST FILM I'VE EVER SEEN IN ALL CATEGORIES !!
YEAH !! Tonight I saw the best film I've ever seen. I saw "Office Space". It's sooooo good I could go on and on about it for the rest of my life, and still I'd only have time to tell you about one tenth of everything that's absolutely superb in this movie. So I'll have to be pretty selective.

Mike Judge (I'm thinkin' about calling him god from now on !!) is the man behind "Office Space". He has written and directed it. Previously he has given the world (among other things) the animated TV-series "Beavis and Butt-Head" that I really love. But since I was a bit disappointed with his first feature "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America", my expectations weren't high on this one. But with "Office Space" he delivers excellence. "Office Space" doesn't have the same type of humor as in "Beavis and Butt-Head". Not to say that this film isn't funny, because it is. It's hilarious !! I laughed constantly all the way through. But it's a different type of humor. More mature maybe. So forget Chris Knight !! Mike Judge is the REAL GENIUS !!

The cast and the characters are brilliant to say the least. There are a lot of unforgettable performances given here, most noticeably by actors: Gary Cole, John C. McGinley, and Stephen Root, because their characters are so stylizied, but in great ways that really work beautifully. Also look out for Mike "THE MAN" Judge in a cameo as Jennifer Aniston's annoying boss. (He's credited as William King though).

Anyone who has ever worked a day in their life can relate to this movie. Having to do something every single day that just bores you to death. Gettin' a lot of unnecessary crap from your boss. The brown nosers. Workers who get run over by everybody because they don't stand up for themselves. And the ones who are finally fed up. A big part of this movie is about not losing your personality and your own self respect. And that so many people let themselves get crapped on out of fear of losing their jobs, that they're really not satisfied with in the first place, just because it's their meal ticket. So I wanna go tell my boss to go "you know what" himself right now !! The film doesn't advocate doing that. It's just a personal note !!

"Office Space" is the reason why I love movies. As I wrote in my IMDb review of "Die Hard": "I had that feeling you have after you've experienced something great and unique, and you're aware of it". It's a feeling that I get inside, like something wonderful has happened in there. A feeling that stays with me long after I've left the theater. It doesn't happen often (I watch almost everything that comes out), but it happened tonight after watching "Office Space". This is a movie that's gonna have a place in my heart for the rest of my life. And I'm gonna watch it over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again !!

Go and see this film !! If I could give a refund to anyone not liking it I would, because I can't imagine anyone not loving it. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to give me a reward instead, just for the hot tip. I give this movie 20 out of 10 !! EXCELLENT !!

MR. JUDGE, I THANK YOU AND SALUTE YOU !! AND KEEP UP THE FANTASTICALLY GOOD WORK !!

Super Fly
(1972)

Unbelievably bad
This film is really bad. It has a poor script, bad actors, awful directing, lousy camera operating, and extremely bad editing. And the ending is quite confusing. Because when the end credits starts appearing on the screen it feels like your only half way through the movie. But hey, I was glad that it finally was over. The film is about ninety minutes, and that's definitely ninety minutes too long !!

Other than that I think the main character Priest (played by Ron O'Neal) is a bad role model, just like John Shaft in the movie "Shaft", another film in the blaxploitation genre. These characters are all about being cocky and cool, and have as little compassion for other people as possible. Their actions are often morally questionable. Personally I don't like main characters like that. I like to see characters that I can feel sympathy for, not loud mouth jerks thinking they're all that !!

Don't watch this trash !!

Tomorrow Never Dies
(1997)

Best Bond film ever (so far)
This is by far the best Bond film ever made. It's even better than my previous favourite "License To Kill". It has everything except good looking female leads.

But instead Pierce Brosnan is handsome and charming and full of funny one-liners. He's also the best Bond. HE IS JAMES BOND !!

Leaving Las Vegas
(1995)

Don't waste your time, this one stinks !!
If you haven't already seen "LLV", don't bother watching it. This one is really bad. Why ? Because it is meaningless and pointless, and it seems to just go on and on and on and on and on and on... (Catch my drift)

Nicolas Cage (Mr. Boring) plays an alcoholic that you couldn't care less about. Why he won an Oscar for this stale performance is beyond comprehension (as is the fact that many people actually like this film. Why ? I don't know).

Although Elisabeth Shue is a talented actress, and I very much like watching her (not solely for her acting abilities), she can't save this one, cuz this one STINKS !!

Poetic Justice
(1993)

Sooooooooooooooooo boring !!
"Poetic Justice" is great if you need a good nights sleep. This movie is guaranteed to put you asleep. The only two things about this film that are not worthless, are actors Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur, who are both actually quite good, not to say great.

Arlington Road
(1999)

Save your money and your time
My expectations weren't high when I went to see "Arlington Road" tonight, and still I'm disappointed. For nearly two hours nothing really interesting happens. It never bored me, but I surely wasn't thrilled watching it. The script is lame. Jeff Bridges gives a surprisingly poor performance. Tim Robbins gives a poor performance (as usual). He's almost as bad as he was in "Nothing To Lose", another sucky movie by the way.

We've all seen hundreds of movies like this one that are much better. So if you want to watch a good thriller, go see something else. Is there anything positive that I can say about this movie ? Well, I liked the photography by Bobby Bukowski. It's quite daring. I also liked the surprise ending. But in conclusion: Save your money and your time. Why ? Cuz you're worth it !

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
(1998)

Eh, excuse me !!
Ah please, what is this ?!?! Writer/Director Guy Ritchie apparently likes Tarantino movies, and with "Lock, Stock..." he wanted to make his own cool movie, with a lot of cool plot twists. Unfortunately he fails to do so. And he fails miserably. There are so many twists and turns in this stupid movie that it just made me wanna stand up and shout, out of misery. I mean after seventy nine turns in the script it's really not that cool any more. And it also feels like Ritchie has put in these twists, just to have more plot twists than any other movie in the history of film making.

This is truly a wanna be movie, because the entire thing is made out of parts of other movies, most notably of "True Romance". The cinematography is also really poor. There are a lot of annoyingly over exposed scenes, that just look cheap.

I have friends who liked this movie. But I'm still shaking my head in disbelief over what I saw more than two months ago.

UGH !!!!

Soldier
(1998)

YEAH !!!
I can't understand why many IMDb users don't like this movie. Why they think it's sooooo bad etc. It's not worse than anything else out there. Personally I think "Soldier" is a great movie, far better than most other films in the same genre.

Reasons why I liked "Soldier": Kurt Russel, Connie Nielsen, Jason Scott Lee, the script (David Webb Peoples), great visual effects, and the directing (Paul Anderson).

I even think that this is the best work I've seen from director Paul Anderson, who has previously directed the entertaining "Mortal Kombat" and the not so entertaining "Event Horizon".
