Luther: The Fallen Sun
(2023)

It's Luther!
Yes it's cheesy. Yes it's macho. Yes it has scenes that are a bit unbelievable (James Bond/Mission Highly Possible/ any action film ever ) No, its not a mind-blowing stand-along full force crime film. It's a feature-length Luther. If you have watched the series and appreciate it for what it it, you will love this. You definitely need to know the story behind it and have gotten to know Luther and DSU Schenk as a fully fledged character. If its your first dance, then no you probably will feel there is lack of substance. But trust me, its all there you just need warming up with all 5 series.

Idris and Dermot Crowley aside, Michael Sheen is outstanding as always.

70 out of 100 popcorns.

Blackball
(2003)

Great for a gentle Sunday afternoon comedy.
8 out of 10 for the kind of film it is. Its not intelligent, gritty or groundbreaking but as a standard underdog versus the top dogs kinda film, it holds up well. Lots of funny moments and a decent cast. Don't be put off by the poor reviews, just make sure you watch it at the right time and in the right mood.
