Gears of War 2
(2008)

put simply......the best!
this is simply the best game you will ever play, if you have heard the hype thats been deservedly given to this game then you should buy it (if you haven't already) those of us familiar with the franchise of gears will fully appreciate the game as we know the storyline and characters, we were basically told that there would be a second one at the end of the first one (for those who don't know what I'm talking about, buy the first one), and needless to say this left us wondering, how it would all end and indeed if there was going to be more than 2, well i wont spoil that for those who have yet to complete it, but all thats needed to know is that gears 2 brings back and improves on the magic of the first, the weapons have been modified and the game play is easier making the result better! seriously buy this and the first one you wont get another game like it!

God of War: Chains of Olympus
(2008)

another masterpiece from god of war
this is by far the best game for the psp, and when it comes from the best gaming series of the ps2 its no wonder. psp games are often overlooked and are thought to be a far cry from the ps2 games but this title is just as good as god of war 1 and 2. this game is a prequel to god of war 1 which is a good idea as e get to not only find out but play through what happened to kratos before god of war 1 starts. it stays true to the previous titles which is something that is very rare in psp spin offs of ps2 games. its a fun and interesting game to play and belongs in everyones collections as do the previous 2 titles. the graphics are solid and for a psp game, the graphics sometimes amaze you, certainly an attractive game. in all my scores for this game are: gameplay: 10/10 graphics: 9/10 storyline:9/10

Lost: Via Domus
(2008)

clever, creative and fun
usually, games that are spin offs from a TV series are terrible, but this one is a good game.

i don't know why people are upset with this game, to be honest after reading some reviews i thought that many people expected way too much from it! the graphics to start off with are awesome (but given the consoles its on, what would you expect) and the gameplay is very good but it does need improvement, i find it hard to believe that the gameplay gets so many complaints, i know its not great but its nowhere near as bad as its made out to be! as far as the voice overs go, quite frankly i thought that they were the real actors from the show and I'm not joking about that! people say that the voice overs are terrible........huh?! the storyline is pretty simple but its also interesting, basically you play a never-before-seen passenger from the oceanic flight 815 that has amnesia brought on by the crash, and you have to work to remember your name, and what has brought you to the island. not an amazing storyline but a good one none the less! i find it creative that you can interact in flashbacks as i was expecting them to be just videos.

also there have been complaints about the amount of key lost characters in the game? all the main ones are in there (jack, kate, sayid, hurley etc.). in another review i saw a request for shannon or boone to be in there? what importance do they have for this games storyline? come to think of it what importance did they have to the show??? i didn't expect much of this game for one reason...its a TV show spin off game! these games are usually useless but i think this one deserves much more credit than its been given! all in all a good game!

Assassin's Creed
(2007)

clever, addicting and fun
the storyline for this game is an interesting idea and i cant think why no-one tried this sort of thing in the past, maybe they have and i just cannot think of one, anyway if there are games like this out there then they will have to try hard to beat this one a fun game no doubt, addictive, hell yes! i have to agree with a lot of people and say that it is very much like gta only in ancient jeruselum (i know this review is not original but it's true) you have to take care not to blow your cover in this game or else face the guards and fight your way out of the city, which isn't that hard when you know how to counter attack, however the gameplays quality goes without saying and the graphics do not need questioning as it is only on the ps3 and the xbox 360.the only thing that bugs me is that it is very boring making your way back to one of the cities after going back to the assassination headquarters. anyway, this game is pretty much all about fun and thats what games are all about otherwise they wouldn't sell and microsoft and sony would lose sales rapidly, so if you are thinking of buying this game, then by all means go ahead, it will be money well spent.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
(2006)

A big improvement on an almost flawless game!
the first Lego star wars was one of the very few games that can entertain people of all ages and this new game repeats that magic with the original trilogy! the original trilogy IS star wars, they are the films that captured peoples imagination, and the idea of it being turned into a Lego game like the prequel trilogy, was at first, scoffed at. but yet again game makers have pulled it off. this game has the same game play as the first game and can challenge you on each level. although the first one was brilliant it was rather easy to complete and had very little for you to do afterwards, but this one is a different story as it is much more challenging and has a special bonus which allows you to make your own star wars character and combine the original characters. it is loaded with the charm that made the first game such a hit. this truly has made a big improvement on an almost flawless game!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
(2000)

Great family Movie.
This movie is great, funny and gives a whole new look to the classic cartoon. The film gives a funny look to the grouchy character that we all know. It also gives more storyline. In this version the Mayor of Whooville embarrassed the Grinch when they were at school as their class mates were giving Christmas Presents to one another and as a result he climbed to the top of the Mountain and has never been seen since. Now when Cindy-loo whoo nominates him for an award, he is forced to come down to accept the award. When the mayor embarrasses him again, he ruins the town and sets the giant Christmas tree on fire. But when his famous plan comes together and is finally touched by Cindi-Loo coming to visit him on Christmas he....oh, you know the rest. All in All a great family film and very enjoyable.

The Amanda Show
(1999)

Most Rancid Show Ever!!!
This show is the most horrible, irritating show ever! I didn't think that actors or writers could stoop so low. The acting in this show is terrible, I didn't think that acting could be this bad but I was seriously wrong. The writers must have permanent writers block while writing this show, either that or they let their 2 year old child write it. And what was the creators thinking of! Sketch shows are mostly good, but Nickelodeon need to wake up for crying out loud! Their fan base is depleting rapidly as they still think that Rancid shows like this, their stupid commentary and those gross Nick logo ads they have (you know about bogey's, that kind of stuff) are still cool. My Baby sister is more Mature than Nickelodeon are. what happened to the Classic shows like 'Kenan & Kel' or 'Sabrina: The Teenage Witch'. I warn all of you that if this show comes on to get out a bucket of paint, use a paintbrush to put a bit on a wall...And watch it Dry!

Can't Smeg Won't Smeg
(1998)

Best episode of the dull cooking show!
This spin off of 'Cant Cook, Won't Cook' is the best episode of the rather dull show was made for Red Dwarf's 10th Anniversary and I have to say, it is hilarious. Kryten & Lister vs. Rimmer & Duane Dibbley (Cat's alter Ego) and the unlucky taster is Kochanski. Un-fortunately i missed this when it was aired but it's on my Series IV DVD set. This episode is funny because the host Ainsley Harriot, a guest star as a Gelf on RD, was tricked by Dibbley and was constantly shouting at the cast because of their in-ability to listen, also he was the but of many jokes from Lister (Craig Charles). This Episode of the Cooking show is a Must See for 'Red Dwarf' Fans!

Red Dwarf: Smeg Outs
(1995)

not a smeg up
this is the utterly funny compilation of out-takes from series 1, 2 and 3 of the British comedy 'Red Dwarf'. Who can't say that they don't like seeing the actors/actresses of a show mess up their lines, well i for one like seeing that. in this video you see Craig Charles insist that he doesn't need a stunt double for the golf sequence in 'Better Than Life' from Series II and his very unique putting stance which gives him trouble hitting the ball! also the smeg-outs also contains the original video for the hit Single 'Tongue Tied' and clips from the 1995 Red Dwarf Convention. All this introduced by the tetchy mechanoid Kryten and 'The Last Human Alive': Dave Lister. The Original Smeg up's and This title are being released on UMD for the PSP. Hilarious and well worth watching!

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
(2005)

Awesome Star Wars game!
This game is an good one but the life-span dies out after a while. Based on the blockbuster movie this game has solid animation, in-fact it's one of the best i've seen in games. The characters and weapons are very easy to control and the missions are very enjoyable. But for some reason, i can't explain, i get bored with it after a while. It really is the best star wars game that you can fight with lightsabers in, but once i'd been playing it for a while, i just wanted to do something else. the various characters you can play as or against never ends and the multi-player mode is awesome. But really, maybe it's just me that finds it boring after a while, i'm deffinatley not putting it down because it's a great game. If you're a Star Wars fan or like action games then this is a deffinatley must have game.

Red Dwarf
(1988)

British comedy at it's best!
***SLIGHT SPOILERS*** This is what British comedy is all about. To be honest i didn't even know about Red Dwarf until about five years ago, now i have Series I-VIII (all of them) on DVD. The best series, in my opinion, is series 3. I'll never forget listers shrinking underpants in the episode: 'polymorph'. My favourite character is Lister as he is the one with most of the jokes.

Series I: This is when it all started but it only has one of the classics, that being 'Future Echoes' which is one of my favourite episodes. Dave Lister gets put into Stasis for smuggling an unquarentined animal (a cat) on board Red Dwarf and in the mean time, the crew dies from a lethal dose of 'calcium 2' due to a damaged drive plate. 3 million years later he is revived by Holly, the ships computer, and is left with a hologram of his bunk-mate and a creature who evolved from his pregnant cat for company.

Series II: This series had more jokes than the original and expanded the series with most of the episodes being away from the mother ship as all Episodes from I were set aboard 'Red Dwarf' and the first mini ship was introduced: 'Blue Midget'.

Series III: This is the best series of the show, with every episode being a classic, in my mind. 'Polymorph' has to be the best episode ever as the jokes just keep coming and again 'marooned' expands on Rimmer and Lister. 'backwards' is again a brilliant idea, they finally arrive on Earth, after going through a 'time hole', to find time's running backwards, also a new version of Holly is introduced when he performs a head swap operation on himself to become a woman, and a new character joins the crew, a service mechanoid: Kryten and a new mini craft called 'Starbug'

Series IV: This is one of the somewhat weaker series but doesn't mean that it's not a good one. my favourite episode from this series is 'Meltdown' where they arrive on a planet where they meet historical figures made of wax but look and act like real people. they are soon put to war by Rimmer who takes charge of the heroes while a wax Hitler takes charge of the villains, Also Ace Rimmer, a more likable Rimmer, arrives from another Dimension.

Series V: This series follows III closely as it contains loads of classics like the best villain the dwarfers have come across to date: The Inquisitor and the introduction of the fan favourite 'Back to Reality' episode that contains the introduction of 'Duane Dibbley' and another great episode called 'Quarentine' that brings us the killer penguin: 'Mr. Flibble'

Series VI: This is again one of the great series, despite the Mothership and Holly not appearing at all in this Series. This is where we yet again see 'Duane Dibbley' and Lister marries a gelf in exchange for a vital engine part, screaming as he runs away: 'Change of plan...LEG IT!' and a special appearance from Ainsley Harriot from 'Can't Cook, Won't Cook'. also we see Ace Rimmer again. This award winning series also provides the brilliant western episode:'Gunmen of the Apocalypse'

Series VII: This is the weakest series in the show, mostly because of Chris Barrie's (Rimmer) departure from the show, to concentrate on 'Brittas Empire'. The writers brought in a less funny character: 'Kristine Kochanski', Lister's long lost love who died upon Red Dwarf with the rest of the crew but is brought from a parallel dimension. The Rimmer actor was written out in the second episode: 'Stoke Me A Clipper', when Rimmer leaves to become Ace Rimmer. this episode is the best in VII followed closely by 'Tikka To Ride'. Kryten's famous catch-phrase is also introduced: 'YOU'RE LYING'. Lister is also infected by a virus which is beaten by the sacrifice if his arm.

Series VIII: This is the final series when 'Starbug' is finally destroyed after a series of crashes in it's previous series and the crew is resurrected by nanobots (small robots) along with Red Dwarf and the dwarfers are placed in Jail along with the resurrected Rimmer as Chris Barrie Returns. The luck and sexual magnetism virus is re-introduced from Series V and a T-Rex called Pete shows up and the show goes out on a high with a cliffhanger in the last episode:'Only the Good...' This show belongs in Comedy's hall of fame and appeals to all ages. It shows what British comedy is capable of, A true classic!

The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie
(2004)

good, but short life span.
This game is a good one, but when the game is completed there is not much to do. Here's how i see it: Graphics: The animation on this game is solid as both the characters and the scenery look good. Game Play: Not very good, i'm afraid. The characters are all right to control but the vehicles are a nightmare to control. the characters are fine but you do come across the odd ice patch in some levels which makes it unplayable. Like i said, it's a fun game to play but some games give you things to do after the games missions are completed, like 'The Simpsons: Hit and Run' which much like this game is fun to play, although this game is a little easier, but 'Hit and Run' has mini games and collectibles in the game or you can just drive about and smash things. This game doesn't let you drive around due to enemies attacking and the fact that it's a movie game. this is Enjoyable but perhaps the next SBSP game will have more things to do.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
(1999)

Worst chapter in a great movie series
After all the hype made about this movie, it was sure to be a block buster....WRONG! There has never been a better Star Wars movie to walk out of. first let me point out that although this was the movie to explain the start of the sage, well, A New Hope (IV) was meant to be the first SW movie and that wasn't This crap, in fact that was brilliant. unless you're like Comic Book Guy (The Simpsons) who will only see a bad Sci-fi movie 5 times then you will only want to see this once, the first time! but there are some good points about the movie: you get to see how R2-D2 and CP-30 met. The Anakin pod race scene and the Darth Maul fight scene. Unless you're a die-hard Star Wars fan then you'll want to stick to watching the classic SW movies.

SingStar Party
(2004)

good game, rubbish songs.
this is a fairly...well...alright game, i suppose. I like the game and it's a good idea but, the songs are rubbish! If you're throwing a party then this is the game for you, but if you don't like cheesy songs like:'girls just wanna have fun' or the dreaded 'W. M. C. A.' then stay away from this game. The original sing star was alright but was made in 2002/03 when there wasn't exactly brilliant music but this party edition contains old and new songs and includes some good classics like 'Ace of Spades' by Motorhead and good 'new' (2004) songs Like 'Crashed the wedding' by Busted. Enjoyable game but they need to work on the Songs a bit.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
(2004)

better than the T.V. Show
this movie is nothing like the t.v. show...It's Better! i've been a neutral fan of Spongebob for 3 years and when the movie came out, i wanted to see it even if i am a teenager. I wasn't exactly dying to see it but i was surprised at the humour in this movie. The t.v. show is a bit childish but teens like it anyway. The movie however is slightly more 'grown up', now i know that it still is a kids film but the jokes were more mature in this one. I'll never forget Spongebob yelling 'WAAAAAIIIITEEEERRRR' (waiter) at Goofy Goober when hes supposedly drunk off Ice Cream (another 'grown up' joke). I really did enjoy this movie even though it's aimed at kid's

King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
(2005)

smashing!
This game is awesome. Everyone has wanted to experience what it would be like to be Kong and this game is a godsend to those people. I love playing as Jack on Skull Island. In this game, you are the King. The animation on this game is so solid it is un believable and is very challenging. I think it's awesome that you experience jacks journey exactly as he sees it as his levels are in first person mode and they made a smart choice making Kong in third person as it would not be easy to fight as Kong if you can't see him. The extras include artwork museums that are brilliantly in first person character modes as well. you can actually walk through the artwork like with Jack as if you were in a museum. This game is Brilliant and belongs in everyone's collection!

SpongeBob SquarePants
(1999)

2nd best cartoon ever
This is second to 'The Simpsons' but is still a good cartoon. The best character is Patrick Star because he's the 'big dumb idiot' type, but this show is probably aimed at the wrong audience as most teenagers watch this along with young children. This is the best thing to come out of nickelodeon as most of their shows are dull, but they struck gold with this. it is also shown on MTV and really has become a classic. The movie is funny and the new episodes are more grown up than the old shows, when it was classed as a children show. This show is mega funny and Really entertaining to all audiences. The Best Nickelodeon show ever!

Grand Theft Auto III
(2001)

good game from an alright series
Personally, i would choose not to buy GTA games as i have played them all but this is the only game i actually bought. It's not that i'm not fond of the game series, it's just that i don't like moderate violence. But i had this game as a gift and dare i say it, i really liked it. The animation is solid and the game itself is awesome. When i first played the PS1 games i thought that it was crap mostly because of the animation but when this came out it looked like a proper game, and not like a game boy game! not only that but it is just fun to drive around and smash things! A good, fun, and a long lasting game to play overall and well worth the money.

Finding Nemo
(2003)

fun to play
this is a very fun game for all the family and is very enjoyable. after seeing the movie i thought i'd give the game a try and was surprised as i thought it would be for kids. my whole family wanted to play it and in the end i had about three different game files loaded,(one for each person) and i couldn't get to my playstation for a week! The gameplay is easy and the graphics are great and this game is a challenge to do and it keeps you entertained. various Disney games are childish but games like this are fun and entertaining for all fans of the movie. don't think that this is a kiddy game, it is absolutely awesome!i give this game ********* out of 10 stars

Crash Twinsanity
(2004)

good and bad
i don't know about this game, it has good graphics and storyline but it has poor game play and it is hard to complete. this is the only Crash game i have played and i was a little disappointed with it, but i can't help but like it a little. you can't judge a game by it's cover and thats what i did. the cover made me think it was going to be brilliant but i felt let down by the game play as i think it is hard to control. this is the kind of game you play when you're on a winning streak as it is hard to complete and the kind of game that makes that lucky penny you have, unlucky. I suppose it's good for a challenge but if you have a short temper, stay away from this game.

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
(2002)

**Avoid at all times**
10 minutes into this game, I felt my eyelids close a little, half an hour into this game i had passed out with a vulture pecking at my motionless body! This game is in no way enjoyable, i bought this because spyro was being promoted at McDonalds and instead of buying a £30 game and possibly being disappointed, i bought this platinum version for £15. but i might as well have thrown the money down the drain. the shop said that the product must be damaged or have a fault for refund or exchange, well i say that the whole game is a fault. it's not so much the graphics, it's what the game is based on or the storyline thats the matter and the game play. it is hard to control and it has no real mission to the game. I advise you to stay away from this game at all times!

The Simpsons
(1989)

Best thing on t.v.
when i come home in the afternoon, tired and feel like crud, there's only one thing that cheers me up: The Simpsons! is it just me or have t.v. shows reached an all time low, kid's programmes take over in the afternoon and then it's soap opera's in the evening. Comedy shows like Only fools and horses or Red Dwarf are getting less air time which leaves anyone with sense, drowning in a sea of bordness! This yellow family stay true to what television shows should be: enjoyable. marvellous puns, witty one liners and great story lines is what has kept this show running to it's 17th season. people of all ages are sucked in to the world of Springfield. Of course the characters, along with the family, are ones no-one forgets like: Chief Wiggum, Moe Syzlack, Ned Flanders, Barney Gumble and Nelson 'Ha,Ha' Muntz are to name a few, and it's never ending list of special guest stars like most recently, Ricky Gervais. People get so lost in the episodes that some even forget it's a cartoon. 'The Simpsons' has given hope to those who believe that T.V. will never return to What it once was. This truly is the Best thing on T.V.

EyeToy: Play
(2003)

surprisingly good.
this game is alright for parties, family gatherings or with your mates, but it's not a game you could play on your own, unless you want people peering through the window, thinking 'what the hell is he/she doing'. the reason for this is because while fun, for someone watching, it looks like you're dancing while looking at the television. the mini games are cool such as keepy uppy's and boxing and can really be fun and it doesn't wear thin because it keeps you going and is good exorcise. when i first saw it advertised i thought it was going to be a 'short life-span game' such as the in-famous dance mat game of the late 90's. but surprisingly this game is very good and enjoyable.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge
(2004)

not a nightmare
this game surprised me because i thought it would be just another game brought out to fill empty spaces on shelves. to start off i just want to say that i played this before i saw the movie, so you don't have to worry about seeing the movie to understand the game. the animation in the game isn't as it's best at the scenery looks like 2D. The game is easy to control and is not as easy to complete as i thought as it is quite a challenge. I have played various games which were spin off's of movie's but none as good as this one. the storyline is completely different to the original movie as in this Jack has been away and returns to find Halloween town almost empty and bleak and Oogi Boogie is behind it. A good game in all but the animation is ...meh!

Star Wars: Battlefront
(2004)

Awesome.
this game isn't as good as the sequel but it is still brilliant. when i bought the trilogy box set it had a demo on it for the PC, I prefer to play Playstation 2 games but i tried it anyway, the next day i went straight out to buy it! This is definitely one of the best games on the market. Star wars games tend to be somewhat...Crud, but this broke the mold. The graphics are awesome and the game play is great the only thing that prevents this game from getting a full 10 stars is that you can't play as Jedi or Sith. My favourite planet to play on is kashyyk and i love playing as a wookie. Do your self a favour and get this game or Battlefront II because they are both awesome!
