Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
(1999)

Best Crime Show Ever
This has to be my favourite programme on TV... The shocking story lines and we'll rounded characters make for an amazing show! Olivia keeps SVU in check while they hunt for the predators of New York...

Highly tense and keeps you on the edge of your seat! Best programme Ever!!!

The Mighty Boosh
(2003)

Nonsensical Genius
The Mighty Boosh is an awesome and nonsensical trip through time and space... Vince and Howard have their random adventures and spark laughs and enjoyment...

Brilliant programme and should definitely be watched by all

One Foot in the Grave
(1990)

Soo Goooood
I don't believe it!!!

Victor Meldrew is grumpy, annoyed, fed up with the world and amazingly funny! He has been made redundant and his life is now a frustrating mess of annoyance! He finds random bits of rubbish in his garden and ends up in situations that would drive anyone round the bend...

Entertaining and Funny... Definitely worth a watch

Whitechapel
(2009)

History and Grit = Winner
I'm always dubious when modern shows introduce a Historical aspect... I mean what if they were to get it wrong! However this series proves it can be done...

DI Chandler and DS Miles chase modern day criminals by using the crimes of the past as foundations to build a case... A Modern Day Ripper, Kray Twins Resurrected and all sorts of Historical True Crime stories are weaved into the search for Killers and thieves in Whitechapel...

A truly brilliant British Detective Series that should be loved by all

PhoneShop
(2009)

Not what I expected
I never expected to like this show... Someone told me about it and I felt seriously Meh at the description! But when I finally sat down and watched it I was surprised by how awesome it is! It is witty and intelligent anf doesn't hold back on telling you the ways in which phone companies will rinse you for your money...

Ashley and Jerwayne are brilliant as the veteran sellers trying to give advice to New Man Christopher... Advice which always leads to a laugh as Christopher is the complete opposite of his colleagues!

Well worth the time to watch... A Hidden Gem

The Young Ones
(1982)

Iconic!
The Young Ones is an acquired taste but if you like it you probably love it!!! I have loved this show since I was in my teens and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of slapstick with a message...

The Boys are amazing... Comedy Gold!

Father Ted
(1995)

Craggy Island Greats
Father Ted is simply brilliant... 3 Catholic Priest marooned on an Island for varying types of indiscretions! Ted is stuck with Dougal and Jack and his responsibility over them leads to laugh out loud consequences... If they're not protesting in front of a cinema that doesn't open for 7 hours, cheating at football or entering A Song for Ireland, they're trying to figure out how to kick Bishop Brennan up the Ass...

Religion has never been so funny!

The Visit
(2007)

British Comedy Great
The only thing that disappoints me with this is that there has been no follow up... I love this quaint little look at prison visitors lives during a weekly visit to see their loved ones who are behind bars! I am aware that certain things have been given a rose tinted view, such as taking gifts into the visitors room but this programme is funny and well worth your time...

Clint is an idiot who goes for every fad known to all of us... Michael is trying to protect his brother and fight for an appeal. Is blind Pete really blind? Is Splodge really Psychotic? Will Bamford get his promotion? Watch and find out...

Fawlty Towers
(1975)

Simply Amazing
Fawlty Towers has to be one of the best situational comedies out there even now! I love this series so much that I watch it over and over again just to cheer myself up!! Basil and his Pals screw up, fall short but just about hit the mark each time...

Basil is disgruntled and hates his guests, he works his way through life thinking he works really hard when in fact he gets wound up and distracted! His frustrations with Manuel provide a lot of the laughs as well as his anger towards a wife he sees as not helping out at all... Everyone should be introduced to Basil Fawlty, you'll laugh so hard you'll be crying!!!

Black Books
(2000)

Grumpy but Great
I always thought I was a grumpy customer service assistant but then I met Bernard Black! Bernard is the grumpy, rude and often drunk proprietor of Black Books... He and his assistant Manny and neighbour Fran get up to loads of different everyday activities that usually end in diasater...

Dylan Moran is hilarious as Bernard and Bill Bailey and Tamsin Grieg bounce off him tremendously! You would necr think that working in a bookshop would fraught with such hilarity... Definitely worth a watch! One of my favourites...

Inside Out
(2015)

A Good Film if a little Traumatic for Me
This is an amazing feat by Pixar... A film that focuses on Teenage Mental Health! It is an excellent idea and I am so glad that this has been brought to light in this way...

However, this film traumatised me completely! As a Depression sufferer, whose first experience with the debilitating illness was when I was 13 and spiralled down the suicide track when I was 14 this movie brought all of those feeling back and turned me into a blubbering mess for days!

It is an absolutely brilliant portrayal of how the emotions react in a teenage brain... Joy is brilliant at keeping everyone in check, then Sadness infects affects everything... Which truly happens!

I don't think I'd ever watch this film again but I do recommend it to others... Just be aware that it can bring on very intense emotions!

Snatch
(2000)

British Brilliance
Guy Ritchie is a Master of British Grit! This film revolves around a boxing match... One that doesn't get honoured and the repercussions of said match...

Jason Statham is brilliant as the boxing promoter that gets stuck between his gullible partner and London's answer to Don Corleone - Bricktop! Brad Pitt makes an appearance as the Pikey Statham uses to replace his boxer when Pitt's character takes him out of commission!

And while all this is going on there is a Diamond floating around London that several people want to get their hands on! Full of action, death and an appearance by Vinnie Jones this is a movie that entertains again and again

Inglourious Basterds
(2009)

A Historical Romp & Tragedy
As a Historian this movie drives me absolutely mental... The inaccuracies in the story of the Nazi High Command and their demise really grates on my Historical Nerve! But if I turn that part of my brain off this is a Brilliant and Enjoyable film...

Christoph Waltz is an awesome Nazi and a brilliant actor to boot! He portrays the Jew Hunter very well... Brad Pitt is a Revelation as Aldo Raine...

This film follows several trains of thought: Aldo and his Apaches as they roam through France dessimating the German Army! Shossana Dreyfuss in her new life as a Cinema Owner who is chosen to host the Nazi High Command for a film Premier! Michael Fassbender's British Soldier preparing for an undercover operation... Action packed and full of story this is a brilliant alternative look at Occupied France during WW2... Defi itely worth a watch

The Silence of the Lambs
(1991)

Hannibal the Awesome
Thomas Harris' Silence of the Lambs is one of my favourite books... It is also one of the very few movies that does the book justice! A serial killer known as Buffalo Bill is terrorising the country... Who better to help find Bill but prolific serial killer Hannibal Lecter???

Clarice Starling a trainee at the FBI's famous training centre Quantico is recruited by Jack Crawford to speak to Hannibal the Cannibal and find out what he knows... Clarice is drawn into Hannibal's world as she tries to find out what he knows! She is given a special insight into the mind of a killer as she helps Crawford hunt for Buffalo Bill, in order to save a Politicians Daughter!

So Gooood! Definitely watch it!

The 'Burbs
(1989)

Simply Amazing!
Carrie Fisher, Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern and Corey Feldman, amongst others have to protect their neighborhood from the new, strange family that have moved in. Neighbourhood Tensions, a disappearance and a break in to find a body!

I love Tom Hanks' earlier films but this my favourite... So much so I used to stay up late and watch it on TV with the volume really low so my parents wouldn't find out!

Airheads
(1994)

Brilliant!
This is the first film I saw with Brenda Fraser in it and I loved him and the film! An aspiring Rock Band takes over a radio station to get their song heard! This film is hilarious and has some real laugh out loud moments...

Brendan, Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi are a bungling team of hostage takers... They uncover a change that the Radio bosses didn't want found out! They make friends with a Rocker DJ! Adam falls in love! Action packed and funny as Hell... Check it Out!

Waiting...
(2005)

Never will I complain in a Restaurant!
After watching this movie I will never complain or send food back for any reason! Set in Shenanigans and following the Wait & Kitchen staff as they go about their daily routine this movie is hilariously funny! Ryan Reynolds at his best as the lecherous waiter with no ambitions... He rules the roost at the restaurant!

There are some hilarious moments and one truly disgusting scene when someone sends their meal back! Try it out and see what you think...

Alpha Dog
(2006)

True Crime, Truly Shocking
The first time I watched this I cried... The second time I was truly angry and wanted to hit someone! Whenever I watch it now I am somewhere in between...

I hate Johnny! Elvis is a gullible and idiotic sheep! I feel sorry for and entirely frustrated by Frankie and Keith for thinking everything was going to be okay!

A drug King-Pink's kid abducts the brother or a guy who owes him money! He keeps this kid locked away then does something entirely drastic that none of them can come back from!

This movie gives me emotions that run along the whole spectrum! Well worth a watch!

Alice in Wonderland
(1951)

A Childhood Favourite
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourite stories and has been since I was a kid. This Disney Classic brings Wonderland to life in a truly nonsensical way, which helps you fall in love with the absurdity this tale evokes. Alice falls through the rabbit hole and is thrust into an Adventure all the while attempting to find The White Rabbit and finding out why he is late!

Kids and adults alike will fall for the madness of Wonderland and it's crazy cast of characters... An adventure for all the family!

Beerfest
(2006)

Hilarious Romp
I truly love this movie! I always watch it when I'm down and need something fun filled and uncomplicated to pick me up...

A really good look at family, friendship and getting wasted for competition purposes. Jan and Todd's fight for their family rights is funny and heartwarming and well worth a watch
