The Young Ones
(1982)

One of the funniest shows ever.
I was introduced to this show by MTV back in the eighties. It's a scream! It was very topical for the time, and anyone who was in high school in the early eighties is bound to appreciate this show. Many of the British "Club Bands" which became hot during that time made appearances on the show (such as THE DAMNED, and MADNESS). Rise up People's Poet!!

Bad Boys
(1983)

A great "Street kids" drama
Sean Penn, Esai Morals, Ally Sheedy, and the other principles in this film deliver great, realistic, gritty performances. Certainly one of the great performances of Penn's career.

My only complaint is that the DVD release by ARTISAN ENTERTAINMENT & REPUBLIC PICTURES - Deletes 2 scenes from the original. (That may explain the bargain pricing). The deleted scenes I noticed are: 1. The scene in which Ally Sheedy's character picks Esai's character out of a line-up. 2. A scene inside the Juvenile facility where the inmates are watching the Richard Widmark film "KISS OF DEATH", where he pushes the old, wheelchair-bound lady down the stairs, much to the delight of the inmates!

Zelig
(1983)

Woody portrays Leonard Zelig, a human 'chameleon.'
Woody's funniest & most imaginative film. I you haven't seen it, you're missing out. Like "FORREST GUMP" a decade later, the star is placed into historical films and reenactments - without the digital technology.

One of those films a writer looks at and says "Wish I had thought of that!" Great dialogue and situations.
