Higurashi no naku koro ni
(2006)

Overrated
I couldn't deal with the fact that this show was half filler. For a show this short and with so many small arcs it is disappointing that half the time something is happening and the other half it's a slice of life. The short arcs felt like they could have been expanded on, and instead of having these it should have focused on one or two more developed ones. The plot could have been good but in my opinion, while watchable, this anime was nowhere near as good as what I had been led to believe.

Mushishi
(2005)

Ginko solves problems but a bad anime isn't one of them
Mushishi is does not have a linear plot, but I find that great as each episode holds a new wonder. Some of with are horrifying and others end up good. It feels very naturey but has sort of a paranormal spin to it ending up with the this. The anime is interesting and unique and I'd recommend it.

Yakusoku no Neverland
(2019)

One of my favorites
The promised neverland's first season stretched about three manga books into 12 episodes in such a way that it is a horror mystery on an almost incomparable level. The art is beautiful, the opening by UVERworld is great, and the story is great. I'm glad I saw this as it was streaming because I could barely even wait a week for the next episode. I cannot wait for the second season and having read the manga volumes as much as I can, I am sure it will be amazing.

Shigatsu wa kimi no uso
(2014)

Music but interesting
Never in my life did I think I would enjoy a show about music as much as I did but your lie in april was mindbogglingly good. The art was amazing and for an anime focused on music it's music was really good! The whole thing was great and the added plot relating to his past and what ends up happening makes it such a good anime.

Death Note: Desu nôto
(2006)

10 Stars
Death note is a show that twists everything up and comes out amazing. The protagonist isn't a hero and most of his actions are interpreted as downright villainous, but that adds to it. His interactions with L are almost sherlock-esque and the plot, visuals, music, and all are splendid. This anime came out perfect and while the second part is a bit worse it couldn't take a star away.

Steins;Gate 0
(2018)

Steins gate but sadder
Steins;Gate 0 is what would have happened if the emotion and seriousness were amped up right before the end of Steins;Gate. There isn't much else to say besides watch that and then this. It feels perfectly connected with the original plot yet has it's own uniqueness.

Kôdo Giasu: Hangyaku no Rurûshu
(2006)

Power and Ideology
A 9.9, I'm not sure why it didn't get a 10 but I'll go with my initial instincts. The music is glorious, the visuals great, the voice acting good, and the plot was masterful. I don't know what to say except the whole thing is emotional, serious, and interesting. This is a must watch and shows what happens when one gains extreme power and combines it with there beliefs.

Steins;Gate
(2011)

A must watch
Steins;Gate was an anime that mixed silly with serious with crazy with time travel. The plot and the time concepts the anime used were fascinating and unique. The anime is a spiral slowly growing into something bigger and does it in such a way that it is almost flawless. The soundtrack was amazing, the art and animation was capturing, and overall is definitely one of my favorites and gets a 9.7/10.

Boku dake ga inai machi
(2016)

Amazing
It's hard to describe without spoiling- but the characters, visuals, music are all amazing. The plot is amazing, it's a mystery mixed with the time elements, and I could not take my eyes off of it. It is one of the best anime I have ever seen.

Kiseijû: Sei no kakuritsu
(2014)

A Plot Worth Watching
While it may come across as a scarier anime at first glance the actual anime relies much more on interest and action throughout. The character development, especially of the protagonist, is amazing. It is almost impossible to watch this show without you imagining yourself in his place, which is something I find as a positive. The visuals and soundtrack is also great. I would definitely recommend it although maybe not so much for those who won't deal well with the concept.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
(2020)

An interesting watch
This anime goes all over the place from supernatural and spooky to lighthearted and silly and is an anime that really strikes my curiosity as it creates more questions that it answers and leaves me waiting for the next episode. The soundtrack is good as well as the visuals (the style and coloring 0_0) and voice acting, but for me what captures me are the mysterious themes at which the audio pulls you in (both music and voice acting). It is a good balance of lightheartedness with spooky undertones.

Somali and the Forest Spirit
(2020)

A touching father-daughter anime
The art design is out of this world. The depictions of the other creatures, the fantasy world, the coloring... This anime nails the theme and aesthetic ans tops it off with an interesting story and a cute kid. This anime sets a tone of a lighthearted travel with deeper undertones of time limitations and suspense as to her identity as a human and even emotional sections. This anime does it all- now go watch it!

Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu
(2020)

A very basic isekai
The animation is good, the fight scenes are splendid, this anime is best served with a cool beverage and a side of suspended disbelief. The largest pitfall of this anime is audiences taking the game in the anime too seriously, but that wasn't a problem in my case. I thought it was interesting, silly, and a good introduction to isekai anime. I would recommend it to people who have watched less anime or anime of this genre.

Monster
(2004)

Masterpiece
There isn't much to say as I don't think I could describe it- I watched all 75 episodes in 3 days on a break and it was glorious. It feels real and it feels raw. If you can see with your eyes you should watch it.

Kyokou Suiri
(2020)

Plot dragged - Mediocre show
Kyokou Suiri was extremely mediocre. The plot sounded interesting and I thought the Japanese folk lore would take a larger portion of plot, but the show tended to drag on one malicious yokai in something that should have been 1 or 2 episodes but ended up being 9. The music wasn't great either and I have nothing to say about the visuals. The personalities are one of the worst parts as there is very little depth and I feel as if an adjective was just given to each character as a personality. The character design was quite good on the main character and I wish there was more uniqueness to the other characters who came across as plain. Despite these drawbacks none of them were bad enough to lead to me not following through. Even though I was very critical of it, the experience was enjoyable enough for me to follow through. Unless you are interested in ghosts, yokai, etc. and can sit through a lot of dialogue this probably isn't the anime for you.

Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!
(2020)

A look into childhood passion
Eizouken is amazing, it is able to make you walk in the shoes of aspiring animators i such a way that it is extremely entertaining. The music is great along with the simplistic art style, but what hooks me here is you feel as if you are there. I would give it a 9.5 if I could because it is just splendid. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

ID:Invaded
(2020)

A wonderful experience
I was leaning towards a 10 but I thought I should save it, but honestly, this anime is a 9.5 in my book. It's visuals are amazing and probably my favorite aesthetic of the season, the style and color pallet look amazing to me. On top of that the music is absolutely amazing, I have both op and ed saved to my playlist. The story is intriguing and keeps you waiting for the next episode keeping a detective theme with sci fi elements. The characters are done quite well and they all feel quite three dimensional. The anime excels in every category and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
