Barbershop
(2002)

ALMOST TERRIBLE
I watched almost all of this movie hoping it would live up to its IMDB rating. There were a few funny comments, but in toto it was a very disappointing waste of time.

The sad part is that I understand they are making a sequel... "you can fool me once, but..........".

Femme Fatale
(2002)

AN ALMOST WASTE OF TIME
I very much dislike a movie that makes absolutely no sense until the last 10 minutes of the movie. This one was even worse than Mulholland Drive.

The only great part(s) was seeing Rebecca Romijn-Stamos scantily clad. I didn't realize she had such a great body!. John Stamos, you're a very lucky man.

Rob Roy
(1995)

A MASTERPIECE!!!
One of the top 10 movies I've seen. If people can make it through the ethnic accent of the actors, they should not be disappointed. Tim Roth's performance was deserving of an Academy Award. Everyone else was deserving of a collective Academy Award.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding
(2002)

What's the fuss???
First of all, I truly like Michael Constantine. His character was sooooooooooo predictable.

I felt the overall movie was like pasta you cooked an hour too long- very limp. It was amusing at times, but it was in my feeling overrated.

Take out Constantine's Greek references and family hugging and kissing and the movie would be cut to a reasonable 30 minutes.

John Corbett did a great job, which I think carried the movie. Too bad because I think he isn't in the TV sequel.

Legally Blonde
(2001)

REECE WITHERSPOON IS TREMENDOUS!!!!!
If you enjoy a movie to be entertained, this one is for you! Not a rocket scientist flick, but Reece Witherspoon steals the show. If she is nominated for best actress for her role, then I don't understand what great acting is all about. A MUST SEE!

The Tailor of Panama
(2001)

GEOFFREY RUSH- A STAR AGAIN!
John Le Carre puts together a good movie... confusing at times, but it is supposed to be. I came away with Geoffrey Rush's performance as being top-notch! Almost as good as he was in QUILLS. View him (and watch the movie)!

Enemy at the Gates
(2001)

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I was really looking forward to seeing this. When I watched it, however, I was disappointed. The plot was slow and repetitve. Was Russia ever a possession of Great Britain??? Almost everyone spoke with an English accent. To me, this detracted from the movie.

Wo hu cang long

WHAT IS THIS?????????????
I was excited to get to see this movie based on the Academy hype. "Very disappointed" is not strong enough.

The beauty of the panoramic, but the plot was HORRIBLE.

Sure, the fight scenes were very well done, but the animation was TERRIBLE (people walking up buildings?).

I rate it of the Top Ten WORST movies of the year based on its praise.

It is worth watching just to see how far off the Academy was in its selection.

Quills
(2000)

How did James Woods NOT get Best Actor???
The movie was excellently written. The content was not what I expected. The best thing was the performance by James Woods. I have not seen Gladiator, but I can't imagine how Russell Crowe could have provided a better performance. I am assuming the movie itself swept Crowe in as the winner.

Diamonds
(1999)

Kirk Douglas- WOW!
I saw this movie on the rack at the video store and decided to rent it. I thought the movie was well written, and the kid (Allred) was great, BUT Kirk Douglas' performance was superb and overpowering. He made me laugh out loud. I had my next-door neighbors watch it to confirm my thoughts. They couldn't stop laughing. A must-see film!!!
