UnPerfect Christmas Wish
(2021)

Lighthearted and Goofy
This movie has got a sweet, carefree, and playful mood to it which is sometimes interrupted by some pretty awkward moments (which were deliberately put in by the writers).

For those who can relate to what it feels like to start off as friends and discover you have sentiments that are a whole lot bigger than the camaraderie that you share, then you'll feel some of the frustrations and delights this movie has to offer.

For what it's worth and what this movie is trying to achieve, all the actors performed their rolls with just that right amount of cuteness and pleasantries.

Overall, quite a nice way to spend a happy go lucky time that you know how it's going to end.

Student Seduction
(2022)

When Temptation Is Too Enticing To Resist
There are just so many lessons to be learnt whilst watching this movie as it cleverly draws you in to the truckload of temptations dumped on the lead character who is under so much pressure to succeed. Furthermore, you can't help to find yourself subconsciously wondering if you were in her shoes whether you would have made the same choices. Quite frankly you'd have to be a saint to resist the easy path of enhanced beauty and success which is thrust upon such a young impressionable mind, not to mention the exciting chance to act upon a forbidden crush. I think we've all been there which in part is what makes this movie so interesting and entertaining.

Overall, the cast play their respective parts very well and are also attractive enough to distract you from some of the lesser holes within the plot.

Love and Chocolate
(2021)

It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's De-lovely
This is such a beautiful and easy flowing movie to sink your teeth into with a swirl of loveable characters. The central character Aria (Rhiannon Fish) has a sweet charm about her that draws your attention whenever she graces the screen. Her love interest Ryan (Jesse Hutch) has that smooth easy laidback feel about him, and the rest of the support characters fit in well like a glove to make the whole experience enjoyable.

Very low on drama and big on affinity.

So, if you enjoy an easy Sunday drive in the countryside or a pleasant walk along the beach, then you will find it easy to indulge in this tasty treat.

Harley & Katya
(2022)

The Sharp Edge Of Attitude
I had a somewhat open mind without any high expectations about how this documentary would play out and I wasn't the slightest bit disappointed with the way it was painstakingly put together.

It is an exceptional look into the raw toughness of two highly skilled individuals that come together from two sides of the world with differing cultural backgrounds for the resolute purpose of bonding their hard earned strengths to form a spectacular winning partnership.

I found this documentary totally engaging in so many ways as it takes you through all the aspects necessary to make it to competition level and all the seesawing effects of winning and losing.

But it was the visceral psychological effects that initially creep up slowly and then shatter so quickly that will chill you to the bone and pull at your heartstrings.

This is worth a watch.

It's Not All Beer & Skittles, But It Sure Is Worth It.
This is my favourite documentary. If you have any appreciation for pedalling on two wheels then you know what it's like to see the world through different eyes and face the many elements.

This doco brings all the grit and determination that two dedicated Aussie blokes encounter along their enduring journey across the Asian continent. It's raw, it's harsh, it's dangerous, it's genuine and it's triumphant.

This movie was the inspiration that initiated me to embark on my own mini adventure and in part have a better understanding of similar tenacious experiences.

If you go by the motto of "It's not the destination, it's the journey" then you'll love this documentary too. So, sit back and come along for the ride.

Why Does Love?
(2017)

Like A Horseshoe Being forged On An Anvil
I really like this movie and the reality of the acting and writing and production made it come across as being quite authentic and added so much to the atmosphere in this film.

For anyone who appreciates the dream of being in a band and playing gigs, will connect with the imperfect life and sense of naivety these lads encounter as they build their house of cards in the music industry.

It's kinda carefree, serious, stupid and playful but it's so well made that you feel like you're right there with them breaking the rules with reckless abandon and living out of a suitcase.

And it's not overboard in any way which makes it very enjoyable whilst being believable.

The Clue to Love
(2021)

Nicely Engaging
Sure this movie follows the standard love blueprint which makes viewing so pleasant but I also enjoyed how the writer included a secondary love story as well as the mystique of who "Aunt Hope" is.

Even though the main story centers between the lead actress and her male counterpart, I struggled to see them as a couple that were genuinely meant for each other. On the other hand the two main actresses really stood out because they had a great friendship chemistry and it was their acting that made the whole movie quite engaging with their indulgent interactions.

Overall I thought it was an easy laidback watch.

The Office Mix-Up
(2020)

An Endearing Lighthearted Comedy With An Appealing Cast
There are no profound surprises within the story and yet I had an eager motivation to see it end the way it did and that's because everyone was just so likeable in one way or another.

Kate Mansi who played the lead, definitely radiated a feel good Marisa Tomei vibe and you can always count on the Lawrence brothers to put together an enjoyable production. Throw in an array of support characters like the nutty security officer Bertie, the obnoxious narcissistic rival (but super eye catching) Cynthia and the nice but totally neglected for her aptitude Erin and the light hearted comedy throws a big smile on your face.

Sure the whole thing's not epic in nature but it delivered so much more than what I've summarized.

The Ladies Room
(2019)

I Love The Premise
I haven't seen this movie but I actually love the premise of it. I'm hoping it has a similar vibe to The Breakfast Club.

I anticipate this movie could have a lot of promise and the cast look spectacular.

I actually look forward to seeing it when it is available and imagine it will deal with all sorts of entertaining diverse drama and comedy.

Emmanuelle 6: One Final Fling
(1994)

The Fantasy Continues But There's Drama Ahead
I've been enjoying this series immensely thanks to the entrancing confidence and sensuality of Krista Allen, along with the great support from the crew of the spaceship (in particular "Tahsa" Tiendra Demian).

This episode doesn't quite match the storyline though. Emmanuelle and Captain Haffron travel to China where Haffron encounters a Chinese ally with extreme beauty and passion. During which there's trouble on the spaceship that is being tracked by jet fighters and to add further to the drama, after Emmanuelle and the captain have transported themselves back to Egypt, a thief steals their transponder and they must retrieve it if they are able to return to the security of their spaceship.

Krista's skills in the art of seduction are almost impossible to resist as is her character's insatiable appetite for lovemaking which will all keep you riveted to this episode.

Once Upon a Main Street
(2020)

Shining In More Ways Than One
What happens when two tenacious entrepreneurs contend for the purchase of a building to start their own separate business? Well the spirit of Christmas gets hopelessly entangled and you know what that means - love wins out.

This is such a wonderfully pleasant movie by virtue of both main characters charm and sense of light hearted fun. And special praiseworthy mention of how Vanessa Lachey has a captivating glow about her which was impossible to ignore.

A delightfully entertaining flick which will leave you with a smile on your face.

Christmas at Maple Creek
(2020)

Tapping Into The Christmas Season With Smiles
This is one of those movies where it's easy to tap into the spirit of Christmas and romance. And sure, it starts off cute and sappy but it ends up pretty sweet.

The cast is wonderfully light hearted and the interactions between the main characters builds that inclination in your heart to see them fulfil their Christmas destinations.

So delightfully, pleasant, charming and entertaining.

Good Deed
(2018)

Classic Case Of Beauty Only Being Skin Deep
Initially, it's pretty easy to think Lethal Beauty will be another wash, rinse and repeat Lifetime drama thriller but this time the sweet nut job is wonderfully and aptly played by Haley Pullos (who might I add, you can easily fall in love with) until things start to get ugly.

There aren't any twists or turns that will blow your mind (or your hair dry) but all up an enjoyable cast, with a decently written script, which is well produced and directed for a Lifetime movie.

The Dollanganger Saga: Seeds of Yesterday
(2015)
Episode 4, Season 1

More Warped Than A Crumpled Car Wreck
I haven't read the book so I'm not here to compare the unadulterated designs of the author with the intentions of the producer and director, but I've got to say if you could pile up the twisted, callus, depravity within this movie into one heap, you would either need a good pair of hiking boots or a chairlift to reach the top of this depraved mountain of sociopaths.

So there is a generous amount of good looking cast members who play their perverted parts brilliantly, to the point where you find yourself feeling disgusted but still intrigued enough to not look away (without the producers having to resort to graphic imagery).

This is one lunatic ride you've got no control over and will be happy when the journey is over.

Abduction of Angie
(2017)

Sometimes Father Does Not Know Best
As you can tell from the storyline, you're in for a bit of a distorted ride.

On one hand this movie doesn't come off as unfavourably as some people will critique it and on the other hand if you want to tear it to pieces then you're right but if you just take away some of the irrational holes within the plot and just enjoy the cast, the production and direction then it doesn't come off too badly.

So sit back, unbuckle your seat belt and enjoy the aspect of this movie.

I Do, or Die: A Killer Arrangement
(2020)

A Combination of Factors Made This Topical Movie worth Watching
I found this movie to be quite entertaining and well written. It tackles the family struggles within the age old custom of arranged engagements/marriages and the actors were more than capable of delivering the dialogue without it being too emotionally draining for such a sensitive topic.

I've also got to congratulate the Director and Producers for the way they set out, capturing the essence of the threat of losing love for the preservation of culture and prestige within community standing.

And just finally on a superficial note, I thought the actors were quite appealing in their looks without being too distracting from the theme of the movie.

Salty Cracker
(2015)

Perfectly Imperfect
This guy really knows how to put on a show. There's no rainbow confetti being shot out of a cannon to dazzle you, no smoke and mirrors to diddle your mind, just plain raw to the funny bone repartee and ridicule of some of the galaxy brains running this world.

This is all done beholden to the Salt Queen (producer of the year) and with the support of the Salty Panther (and the Salty Floof).

Highly entertaining and hilariously insightful by one of the golden "untouchables" of this world.
