The war and its impacts in Sri Lanka through the eyes of a ten year old girl is the movie all about but the scenes and circumstances will surely be not the one that you will expect. Madhavan no wonder he is one of the best actors in the country who can always add beauty and unique identity for the role he plays, and it needs real daringness to act as a father for three kids when he is considered as a dream boy with a glamorous personality in the industry. Music by AR Rahman makes the movie a special one for those who love melodies. Above all the story and the way it is told makes it as the best movie in the recent times.

I stopped watching bollywood movies due to the fact that the industry has lost the essence of story telling but involved more in making some worst movies of all times. Most of the times a bollywood movie is about an illegal relationship or an unrealistic violence or the same old family drama.Thank God Shanjay came up with Black.It really needs huge courage and daringness to do a movie like this in this era of bolywood. Hats off to the Big B and Rani mukarjee for the excellent performance they have put up for this movie. I have seen it for about ten times but still i know that tears will come out if i am going to watch it for one more time.A world class Indian Movie.

An amazing movie that changed the trend of Indian cinemas during the late eighties. Is three hours enough to show the life of a man at different stages and that too with a heavy emotion that will make you to think about it again and again ? the answer is yes and the proof is Nayakan. Kamalhasan i believe if he would have born in Hollywood by now he will be sharing the honors with Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson. Such a great actor who can show the difference in each and every single action he does. The movie is a biography of a commoner who raises to the level of the God father but the way Maniratnam told the story is really interesting. The Climax of the movie created a big impact when it was released. Even now this movie is considered as a mile stone for the young directors who would like to direct a great movie. Nayakan for sure is the "Godfather" of India .

what an amazing movie to knock the minds of those who get satisfied by the well known Hollywood gimmicks which includes devastating graphics and supernatural stories... When i sat to watch this movie i never thought that its going to take me to a different world , the world of forrest gump. Special credits to the writer for some wonderful dialoges that pierces the heart of every viewer. its very hard to express by words the life of Forrest Gump but thats the significance of that movie that makes it so special. A simple movie to speak about the life of a normal man attaining different characters at different stages but one of the best movies to entertain you. i would suggest all to make this movie as a prominent one in their DVD library. "life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you will get next" thats right the movie is an extraordinary example for these words.

Kamalhasan is known for his extraordinary performances in Indian cinema but this movie is something special for him for he has not acted but lived as Nallasivam . The movie speaks about an universal issue in the most simplest yet the beauties way. Special congrats to Madan for writing some mind storming dialog. Special congrats to Madavan for putting an wonderful performance that too when kamalhasan is present. The movie created a pain in every viewer's heart that remained for two or three days. I can compare this movie with any Hollywood drama for it has got everything love, philosophy, emotion, action above all an excellent way of telling the story.
