The Last of Us
(2023)

Impressive
I won't deny this is one of the best adaptations of a computer game I've ever seen. It blows Halo out of the water.

Its seems HBO and Sony entertainment put some real thought and emotions into the adaptation of 'The last of us' and some real messages even though were only three episodes in.

I loved all three of the episodes but the third has really stood out for me. Bill and nick really touched me, and even though it's the lowest rated episode so far I personally, loved it. They didn't go over the top and I was glad Joel didn't get into the bedroom. (Didn't want to see that honestly)

Looking forward to the rest of the season, even if the episodes don't follow Joel and ellie directly I'm loving it. Well done to all.

Terrifier 2
(2022)

Loved it
Everything the new IT should of been. So I got down to watching this last night, I rewatched the original terrifier first and then this, I will advise people if your even the slightest bit squeamish, don't bother.

This is next level gore and some of the most extreme (but brilliant I've seen) ive watched most of the shocking ones (apparently) from cannibal holocaust to dead alive, this is next level.

As a fan of the original IT, clowns actually scared me as a child and still do to some effect, the director of terrifier said he wanted art the clown to be the exact opposite of the clown from IT, silent and colourless, and its highly effective.

I haven't left any spoilers but highly recommend you watch this in the cinema around Halloween, for me the story was good, the gore was excellent, the only qualms I had was it was about half an hour too long. Be prepared to be sat for a good 140 minutes (and see some extreme gore and death scenes) 8/10.

Bull
(2021)

Exellent
I really enjoyed this, a great cast of unknown actors, who smashed it in my opinion, really well put together, it might be because I'm British and come from a rough background, but if you ever spent some time on a council estate you'll get the characters, i know some have mentioned the ending, but it's fully explained by the end, *SPOILER* demons have black eyes, at the beginning his driver says, where have you been? And he said to hell, meaning literally, if you watch the end you'll see why some of bulls old friends were terrified, i only got a bit confused when bull was killed, hats off to the actor playing bull by the way, I'm a big guy and i found you scary, the only thing that confused me was the priest at the end, and what his mum said. Did she know bull or was she aware he'd crawled out of hell for revenge? Anyways, i highly recommended this one, very good, realistic and gritty British movie. Hats off to the Director.

Men
(2022)

Didn't get it
Was looking forward to seeing this, well put together with a disturbing back story. Problem is it didn't make much sense to me, from the point of the tunnel scene till the end i kept checking the run time thinking at some stage it's going to make sense, but it didn't. Give this one a miss.

We're All Going to the World's Fair
(2021)

Shhhh... Your ok, go to sleep...
I almost fall asleep watching that scene with the girl stroking her webcam/phone screen for five minutes, if there was a point to it all i missed it. Very slow build up with no pay off, pass on this one.

The Scary of Sixty-First
(2021)

Ridiculously bad
It will only take you half an hour to roll you're eyes with this one, even in cheap indie movies ive seen better acting, ive also seen asylum movies that beat this hands down, im going to note this as my number 1 of worst Movies ive seen, no effort from the cast either, i hope the lot of you never get cast in any film again. Got to the point of seeing the lead female stood against a door using her hand for something personal, as you do. I mean, as a man that should of been somewhat entertaining, but it just isn't. It's ridiculously bad and overbearing, how anyone can rate this above one is beyond me, and clearly have no taste, avoid at all costs, I've watched it so you didn't have to, avoid like the plague.

Deliler
(2018)

Terrible
Totally inaccurate and a pure cheese fest. I won't mention the historical inaccuracies here as many other reviews already have, for me the audio dubbing was awful, would rather watch with subtitles, the music was overbearing, and what's with the wings on one of the characters armour? Barley got past the one hour mark, my recommendation? Watch Dracula untold instead, that isn't accurate either but it's definitely much more entertaining.

Megaboa
(2021)

Garbage
The snakes name is wrong for a start. The biggest snake that actually existed was Titanoboa, I'm not going to even start on the effects or acting. Can't get my head around why they make trash like this, avoid. Trust me, look up the snake on YouTube, you'll enjoy the videos much more than watching this kackka.

The Unforgivable
(2021)

Excellent
Really enjoyed this, some of the best acting I've seen for a while and I'm not even into drama/thriller movies. Really pulls at the heart strings sometimes, but had some great thriller moments too, it'll get to you more if you have either a young child or sibling, really glad I took a chance on this one, itll stick with you for a while, 8 out of 10, definitely give it a watch!

Coming Home in the Dark
(2021)

Fake reviews everywhere
Unfortunately imdb is becoming less and less reliable as a source for how good a movie actually is, more often than not the cast/crew seem to swamp films with overly positive reviews, i give this one a 4, good acting but sometimes pointless scenes, without spoiling it the scenes with the two boys, and the one with the man at the petrol station, both seemed pointless, it was never made clear if these men were actually targeting this family or it was random, the last 10 or so minutes were also weak, another point that didn't make allot of sense, and i dont know if it was just me, but i was struggling to make out allot of the dialogue, all in all, worth a one time watch but definitely nothing special.

Der Untergang
(2004)

Brilliant
I can remember watching this when I was about 18, if you are reading this and haven't seen it its a must watch, brilliant writing, acting, and a fantastic account of what was the closest we'll ever get to hitlers final days, I'm about to watch it again.

Pipeline
(2020)

Pass
You can see that there was some effort put in here by the actors, extremely amerturish but its no good, not enough of the monster and the pure confusion of whats actually going on, so there's a monster in the pipes??? How does it suck a whole human body into a pipe no wider than a plug hole? And then, *spoiler* its the grandma??? How did she end up a monster who lives in the pipes of a house? Cmon, I watched this over the weekend after a few jars and can usually appreciate most indie efforts but this is just silly. Instead of bad acting, atrocious writing, and a waste of 90 muinites of life, save your money and go for a beer; and to anyone thinking of watching this dont, I don't often give a low score unless its really deserved.

The Stylist
(2020)

Boring
I watched this movie months ago and it's not often that I feel the need to come back and review how slow and boring a movie is, a movie never sends me to sleep, this one did, its basically a rip off from maniac from 2012 and 1980. Watch one of them instead, trust me, you want be disappointed, but you will with this horse s#@t.

The Slaughterhouse Killer
(2020)

Actually a decent watch
So I watched this the other night in the early hours, good storyline, the main lead actors did a good job with what they had, (especially box) you can actually imagine something like this happening, theres one scene that made me feel sick (involving a child) which is something I cant stand seeing in movies, but it's good when a movie can play with your emotions , so to say its low budget they did a good job, it's not a second view movie but its definitely worth a watch once, 5.5 out of 10 from me.

The Power
(2021)

Boils down to preference.
This is a slow burn, I really enjoyed the setting of the 70s, I have faint memories of hospitals being like this when I was young even though I was born in the nineties, I always found the corridors in hospitals to be eerily long, and you dont really find that anywhere else in the UK, the film is true to the time, miners strikes in the seventies if any of you remember them, the dark hallways and added supernatural scenes just add to the scare factor, I think if your older you will enjoy it as you will be able to relate and maybe remember some of these times, for the younger if your looking for quick jumps dont bother, also a decent ending to top it off, it's more a horror drama than full on horror, 6.5 out of 10 from me, reccomend.

Alien Abduction
(2014)

One for the believers.
I watched this donkeys ago, if you believe in aliens then this is one for you. Dark skies is better but think about it, aliens ain't pure fiction, ghosts are, that's what scares me, those things that could actually be real, there hasn't been a decent alien movie since this one so soak it up .

The Empty Man
(2020)

Underrated.
I found this to be a Brilliant horror movie, I found it extremely creepy, the big skeleton at the beginning gave me the shivers, no it's not a movie full of cheap jump scares so if that's what your looking for dont bother, it has a slowly creeping sense of dread, dont want to ruin it for anyone but go into it with an open mind as I did, seen some bad reviews for this from critics saying its boring, each to their own I guess, but I personally highly recommend! Hidden gem!

Cosmic Sin
(2021)

Cosmic bin.
Really wanted to like this as I love scifi movies especially anything involving aliens, I'm thinking, supposed to be 500 years into the future but the fellas still driving a 4x4, i got to the bar scene, and I thought, this looks like roadhouse, (albeit no where near as good) warning signs of a crappy film start to kick in. 90 percent of the movie was just people talking random s#*t, practically no action whatsoever, and by the time we were down to the last 20 muinites I gave up! Dont know what Bruce Willis has been thinking last couple of movies he's been in, All I'm looking for is a movie that'll rival Independence Day form 1996, it's been nearly 25 years and still nothing! Avoid this if you value your time on this earth, absolute garbage.

Armageddon Tales
(2021)

Yeah...
Agree with the majority of the other reviewers on here, first segment was pretty decent and had a nice backdrop and feel to it, if the budget from each segment went into the first to make a full movie it could of been decent with the 94 minutes, unfortunately it falls flat after the first segment, strangely enough if you click on the director of the first, apparently it's part of a tv series from back in 2019, so we may see more of it in the future, hopefully without the other parts!

Creep
(2014)

Very creepy
I've seen both the first and second installment of these movies as soon as they were released and I'm watching again tonight, I found it pretty hard to divide it from real footage, when most of the time you know what to expect with these movies, this one comes across very realistic and sadistic, like how an actual serial killer would work, hats off to mark Duplass. He does a great job at the start of the movie before it turns into pure psycho mode, the second movie is definitely better as they upped the creepiness and character development, but this is great too, hope theres a third in the works.

Acrimony
(2018)

much better than the 5.8 rating suggests.
Went into this one not expecting too much as i tend not to take much interest in drama driven movies, and by the halfway point i was hooked, does a great job at making you feel for the female lead at first, then it shows you life from the male leads perspective and really makes you think about who is in the right or wrong, its a shame i only came across this browsing IMDB recently, i 100% reccomend this movie, especially to anyone who has been through a difficult relationship, it really hits home, don't miss this one.
