A Charlie Brown Christmas
(1965)

We still love you, Charlie Brown!
I remember the first time that I saw this cartoon. I was about 6 or 7 years old, and I was starting to get into the Peanuts comic strips as I was learning how to read. From the first time I saw it, I knew there was something very different about this animated Christmas special that set it apart from others. Maybe it was the fact that it actually gave the true meaning of Christmas by having Linus quote Luke 2:8-14. Maybe it was able to capture charm and whit of the Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz. Maybe it was the jazzy background music by Vince Guaraldi. Maybe it was all the above. I'm gonna go with the last one. To this day I still find this Christmas special to be a very touching one.

The Sims
(2000)

Warning! Do not play this game if you ever plan on leaving your computer again!!!
The Sims has to be the most addicting game I've ever played in my life! I'm actually ashamed of how much time and money I've spent on it. Nevertheless, it's well worth it. I even have all the expansion packs for it (except the new one that just came out). Despite the fact that it might be a shameful addiction, I still have a lot of fun on it.

Arsenic and Old Lace
(1944)

I laughed at some scenes and was plain baffled at others
This has to have been one of the weirdest screwball comedies I've seen in my life. Only Frank Kapra could take something this chaotic and make it work. As the story went on it just got weirder and weirder, and it pulled me in even more. This by far has to be one of my favorite classic movies, but I can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to yell charge while running up a flight of steps after seeing this. 10/10.

Fresh Airedale
(1945)

Not one of my favorites (Spoiler alert)!
Don't get me wrong, I, personally, have admired Chuck Jones and his cartoons have been a major influence on me...BUT I HATED THIS ONE!!! Is it just me or was the whole message of this cartoon very negative and pessimistic. Just the fact that the one character you hate in this cartoon gets his way while the "hero" gets slapped around up until the end of the cartoon. I have to change the channel whenever this one comes on.

Daria in 'Is It College Yet?'
(2002)

A Great End To A Great Series
I've mention earlier that I'm a huge "Daria" fan. When MTV finally aired the "Is It College Yet", I stayed tune for it and I did not budge until it was over. As I watched it, I began to realize how much the characters have developed over the past five years (well, actually two years in Lawndale time. It sure is sad to see them go.

All in all, I was really impressed with it, but I'm afraid to say anymore without giving away the story.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas
(2000)

The book was better!
I'm not sure where to start with this movie. I just didn't care for it too much. First of all the character of the Grinch. Many stories featuring him display him as pure evil, in this movie, he was far from that, he was more eccentric than anything else, and just plain weird. And why did Cindy Lou become such a central character in the story? Also, she look like she was much older than two, and above all the ending was w-a-a-a-a-a-y too corny.

I have to hand them a little credit for make-up and special effects but as for everything else, do yourself a favor kids and watch the animated version by Chuck Jones, or better yet, read the book!

The Stupids
(1996)

Watching it was like pulling teeth...wisdom teeth!
I couldn't even sit through the whole thing! This movie was a piece of crap! I had more fun watching "Dont' Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead"! It was just too painful to watch. Say, besides "Austin Powers", has Tom Arnold ever been in a hit movie?

Cow and Chicken
(1997)

Mamma had a chicken Mamma had a cow. If I was Dad, I would care how!
Cow and Chicken is one of the sickest and most disturbing cartoons I have ever seen. No wonder I love it! It's almost up there with the Ren & Stimpy Show. I love the Red Guy, he's funny. I also like it's spin off, I Am Weasel. It's very creative and original. I wonder where David Feiss came up with this idea. This show is worth a look (if you can find it on Cartoon Network).

Garfield and Friends
(1988)

Garfield Rules!
This was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon when I was little. I was hooked on the fat cat. In fact, I still am. I can't think of a more appropriate voice for Garfield than Lorenzo Music (may he rest in peace). U.S.Acers was pretty funny too. I never thought that just a half hour was enough. Heck, I didn't think a whole hour was enough. Now when they air it on syndication, they don't show all of the episodes, they don't even show the U.S.Acers quickies! Oh well. In all, this was a great adaption of a great comic strip.

The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo
(1996)

They messed this one up in the last season
I loved this show. Other than the Simpsons, this was my highlight of Sunday nights. Then they changed everything! pretty soon I just lost interest. I guess everyone else did too. And unlike Scooby Doo, this show kept you guessing until the very end.

The Simpsons
(1989)

What a show!
I've never seen a show quite like "The Simpsons", and I doubt I ever will. The show has gone through quite a few changes over it's 11 year run. Homer for example gradually gets dumber season after season (remember how he was in season 1?) Parents no longer condemn the show as immoral, and horrible for kids to watch. My mom used to forbid me to watch the show, now she watches it with me sometimes.

I have to admit, I'm very shocked with how long this show has lasted. I knew it had been on the air for years, but when it's tenth year anniversary rolled around, I was stunned and at the same time very impressed.

My favorite character without a doubt is Lisa. She seems to be the one character with her head on straight, although it must make it hard for the writers to fit her into the plotline with an ensamble of off-the-wall characters.

I really think this is a fantastic show, and after 11 years it's still my favorite.

Inspector Gadget
(1999)

Why? Why?
Disney studios has created the best animated movies of all time. WHAT IN THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THERE LIVE-ACTION MOVIES??!! Did they even watch the original "Inspector Gadget" before they made this piece of crap? I'm still disturbed that we actually got to SEE Dr. Claw. I'm still trying to find a similarity between the movie and the cartoon. I'll bet Walt Disney was spinning in his grave when this film was released. This is all just a crying shame.

Psycho
(1960)

I've never seen a horror movie come close to this
This is without a doubt Alfred Hitchcock's best movie. Todays horror flicks don't even compare to the timing, and the cleverness of Psycho. My best friend doesn't even like Hitchcock, but he liked this movie. I wish the Oscars could've said the same. This movie is one of a kind.

The Green Pastures
(1936)

Stereotypical or not, I liked it
I've never seen a movie like this. It's probably one of the most interesting Biblical movies I've ever seen. I'm black and I didn't think it was too offensive, considering the time period that it came from. In fact, my whole family liked it. This is one movie you really have to give a chance before you watch it. Unfortunatelly, movies like this and Disney's "Song of The South" are thrown among the wayside so they won't "corrupt" our "politically correct" society.

Bambi Meets Godzilla
(1969)

I nearly passed out from laughing too hard!
I was stunned! Possibly the best cartoon short I've seen in a long time. I saw this during Cartoon Network's 50 Greatest cartoons of all time. It didn't make it to #1 but it was pretty close(I think it was #4, but I'm not too sure). I laughed hysterically, but then I had to stop and take a few breathes before I passed out.

Amadeus
(1984)

Astounding
What can I say to describe this movie?! I don't think there's any word in the English language to describe how great this movie is. I saw Amadeus last year in my Arts and Humanities class. My jaw was hung open throughout the whole movie! I saw Mozart through a whole new light. It did more than just give a history lesson, showed Mozart as a human being, his good qualities, his vices (that falsetto laugh got on my nerves after a while, but who cares). I 'd watch this movie again and again if I had the chance. It ranks as one of my all time favorites.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
(1975)

I couldn't stop laughing!
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen., but I'm to afraid to talk about it because I might spoil it for those who haven't seen it. My favorite part was the tail of "Brave" Sir Robin. I was afraid I'd wet myself when first saw it. And for all of you out there, I LIKED THE ENDING!!!

Pinocchio
(1940)

Everybody has there magnum opus, "Pinocchio" was Disney's
"Pinocchio" was the first Disney movie I can remember watching, and it is no doubt my favorite. Most of what the movie has to say means a lot more to me now than it did 14 years ago (example; the infamous donkey scene). This movie is clearly classic. Disney studios, I don't think, has ever been able to top this movie, they've came very close with other movies. If you've haven't seen this movie yet, SHAME ON YOU!!!

Superman
(1978)

Yesterday, it was a great movie; today, it's a timeless classic
I have never seen such a great movie adaptation of a comic book hero like Superman. Christopher Reeve did a fantastic job. If only they could do this with the latter Batman sequels (George Clooney as Batman?! What were they thinking?) I also thought Gene Hackman was pretty good as Lex Luthor. He added quite a bit of arrogance to character., making him not only evil, but also pompous about it. In short, No Superman fan should go without seeing this movie, even if you aren't a fan, see it anyway.

The Bad Seed
(1956)

WHOA!!!
I was blown away! I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. Those people gave me the creeps. I was just flipping through the channels when I came across it. Normally I'll change the channel after a minute or two to see what else is on, but not when I saw this movie! I was so terrified, I sat through the whole movie, uninterrupted. I'm shivering just thinking about it right now!

Paw Paws
(1985)

Too cute to handle!!!
All of the characters were just so cute! The main characters were cute, the horses that they rode on were cute, you couldn't even hate the villain because he was so darn cute!!! You thought the Care Bears were bad? At least the Care Bears didn't have villains that were cute as well, this guy looked like an angry teddy bear! I just saw one episode and I was confused beyond reasoning. I think I'm emotionally scared for life!

Me Musical Nephews
(1942)

Popeye's nephews are annoying but in this cartoon, they're supposed to be
A pretty funny cartoon considering the fact that I was never a fan of Popeye's nephews. They were actually created by the studio to compete with Disney's Huey Dewey and Louie, and for me that just makes me disrespect them even more. This cartoon however was really funny, and it's fun to watch them make music with objects they found in there room.

American Playhouse: Into the Woods
(1991)
Episode 1, Season 10

Brilliance, sheer brilliance
I loved every minute of it. Bernadette Peters was spectacular, of course everyone has given her a large amount of praise for her performance, but she deserves it, she was the one that stood out above the rest! The best part about Into The Woods is that you can watch it again and again, and it still doesn't get old, and you're still catching minor detales that you missed from the first viewing. This is a definate must for fans of the theatre, and for everybody else.

Blitz Wolf
(1942)

Very Funny!
It was funny at how it mocked Disney's "The Three Little Pigs" (especially since the voice of the third little pig was the same as the one in the Disney version), it is very dated however due to the wolf being modeled after Adolf Hitler. I just saw this cartoon a few days ago and I laughed my butt off! I have to admit Tex Avery knew what to do to make a cartoon funny.

UHF
(1989)

A Scream
I laughed hysterically through this movie! I've always been a big Weird Al fan. I was greatly disappointed, however, when Comedy Central edited the movie when they aired it. It's very goofy, and Michael Richards' performance in this movie was the funniest I had ever seen him (next to his role as Kreamer on Seinfeld). And the movie parodies are a scream. The movie may have gotten some pretty lousy reviews by critics, but everybody I know (including me), who has seen this movie thinks it's funny. I say it's worth watching (if you lucky enough to find it).
