Gotham Knights
(2023)

Are you jocking?
Who, in a wright state of mind, thought it would be a good idea to start a serie based on the Uninteresting death of one of the most (if not the most) badass hero in the DC universe. And not only that, but it didn't happen in some profound way... the police just found him, laying on the streets dead! And so they Just unmasked him!

And the person who thought of that, I suppose, also thought that people who are interested on a serie like, and most probable that not Love Batman, are gonna bother watch it(!) and heck even like it!!!

I don't care how great the whole team up and acting and script (for argues sake) is, I deny to see this "alternative" story that treats my beloved hero so disrespectfully! Heck They haven't even bother to play the alternative storyline/multiverse card to sell this notion (as far as I know)...

I pity all who thought it would be a good idea to participate in this project.

Titans
(2018)

Out of all the victims in this serie non had worst fate than the Batman's legacy (and for no apparent reason)
The first season seamed like a low budget well indented try and I respected it that. (*even if they decided to finish the first season at the first episode of the second season WTF ) (and it revolted around Raven that I am not very happy with her adaptation throughout the series)

The second season was much better (many comments say it was worst than the first but not to me). At the second season we see more of our heroes go through some journeys and difficulties to re emerge stronger with the most impressive been the former Robin's now Nightwing. Many new characters with unpredictable and nice (to my opinion) influence in the story.

The third season now. I don't think I posses the vocabulary to condemn enough... At the first two seasons there was this inexplicit idea that Batman was some goof that didn't give a penny for what was happening to his two "sons" but you could kind of forgive it because they probably didn't have the money for Batman or they didn't want him in the way in order for the rest of the story to have ground to stand, either way we have seen it before, this is how it works, you consider that other heroes are unavailable in order to create a crisis (otherwise we would just call Superman for everything in DC and we would be fine).

But at least in the first two seasons it was discrete. At the third season... they went all nuke on it. I could swear that they practically went out of their way in order to bury the mythos and legacy of Batman under a mountain of dump! And I still don't understand the reason!

*For some reason also, the protagonist even though in the second season got through a lot to reawaken as Nightwing and become TEAM leader, in the third season we see him going back to not be sure about himself and try to do things on his own, only to reawaken again, but still try to do things on his until he reawakens a third time to understand that he has a team!!!

All in all there where many mistakes in the series, bad situations happened because of random reason and wins came after a lot of difficulties very easy, plot holes where everywhere, but all these I can be blind to them in order to enjoy the rest (disbelief I think it is called). But when you go out of your way to saw me my favorite hero, with almost a hundred year legacy behind him, be a weak, wash up, ready to retire old man that even tries to commit suicide because of... phycological issues (?), feeling worthless (?), something else that I didn't understand (?)... well then you need to take break from writing scripts dear sir or madam.

The Batman
(2022)

A different Batman
*As you can see my rating is quite high 8 out of 10. That is because the movie as a separate concept was nice and enjoyable and I urge anyone that likes this kind of movies to see it. But don't start the comparing with the "original". Further down you will find what stroke to me as big deviations from what I have come to expect when I am going to see the Batman.

For the two thirds of the movie he did nothing "Batman like".

Having some knowledge of the Batman origins, I am aware that big part of his training is being a skilled assassin (legendary level at that). But for two hours he barges into the scenes like the red army, walking slowly and loudly like a careless daredevil in a tankcostume and fights pretty much the same way. (more brute strength and armor and less skill)

Furthermore what's all that walking around among cops like he is some short of general that came for inspection?! I am used to see him avoid them because obviously if they see him they should either "not see him" or try and arrest then for god's sake, I mean he is vigilante, which is not ok as far as I can imagine... so by avoiding them he lets them "save face".

The last of my major "complaints" over this Batman, is his mood. Considering he is full-fledged Batman by now he should on his 30's and for about 20 years he is being trained... well... in everything pretty much. The whole concept is that he is the pinnacle of humanity both physically and mentally. I already talked about the first part, well the second ain't much better. He still looks to be in disarray and unstable.

Conclusion: This is not Nolan's and Bale's Batman. We had that and it was great. So I respect this new interpretation. It's a bit bulky and slow but it's quite enjoyable. I can't wait to see the rest.

Spider-Man: No Way Home
(2021)

I am taking it 2 stars away and even then the 10 stars are few!
I am in awe of what I just saw! I write in the title that I subtract 2 stars from my rating, the reasons be that this whole mess which became this movie was the protagonist's fault for being... too much of who he is and because the movie lost a great chance to introduce us to new character(s) like Miles Morales and/or Gwen Stacy.

That being said, the movie that came out of his mess was amazing! The action, the fun, the drama, the past we loved or loved to hate, they were all in there. And left us with the even greater prospect of how are they going to use the symbiote in the next one of this amazing hero's live action relaunch that Jon Watts and (I hate to admit it) Disney gifted us.

Clue: A Movie Mystery Adventure
(2014)

Beyond Expectations
With less than a hundred ratings since 2014 (now 2021) I thought this was a low low budget fan film that some people put together.

Nope, that was not the case. The mystery is there, the fun is there and so many other elements in quite the right amount that make this a great movie for children and a fun movie for grownups. The actors are not bad either, some even excel.

It is a shame that whatever garbage Disney puts out is a hit, but a nice job like this with intriguing scenario was kind of buried. This could have been an awesome trilogy for real.

Shaman King
(2021)

This is tragedy!
The first 10 episodes are out and I decide to see an old classic remade... I only endured to reach the 3d episode. I wanted to cry.

Forget that the intro music was way cooler back then, I won't even bother you with my opinion that even the animation of almost 20 years where much cooler.

The story telling, ohhhh the horror... It was truly awful. They deleted and changed scenes ruining the consistency and offering nothing in exchange.

If that is how they intend to reintroduce the series to people I can only offer you my advice, go back to the old one guys. It will fill you up a lot lot more!

Mahouka koukou no rettousei
(2014)

no... I was whrigt from the start, this is bad as hell
I saw one season and 5 episodes. I am not gonna tire you by mentioning what you can find in the official review. The Good: Lovely animations. Nice idea for story (magic and tech) The OK: It somehow manages to survive the harem tag, since there are some males B protagonists, but just barely since, nearly every girl is in owe by our awkward and (wanna be) socially distanced Main Character. There are some well written characters too. Tries to give personality to them all also. The flow of the story I haven't decided if I consider it bad or ok, it is kind of giving the impression that there is order in the chaos, but I can't put my finger on it, so I leave it here. The Bad: I will start with simple bad things... Brother & Sister(are they?) romance and an awkward as hell one at that. So many characters that you lose track after 7 or 10 episodes. Over powered M.C. just for the heck of it I asume, since I haven't after all those episodes come to understand why. AND my two biggest complaints... I saw over 30 episodes The story is a damn mess since sidestories interact with each other and then get out of the picture only to get back when the writer needs them. The M. C. alone has over 4 different occupations (student, bodyguard, magic mechanic, soldier, relations with high profile clan, ninja, you name it) and is not like the other characters are far back on that subject. We are talking about 15-16 year old people here may I remind you. After over 30 Episodes I know NOTHING! I don't know how he became so strong, how he became so "weak", how he has the connections that he has, what are his connections, I have only a very abstract idea of how the magic that the whole show stand upon works, making it feel like the whole magic power is just broken and new spells get drown out the hero's hat every time is needed. The show tries to sell it as Sci Fi but no, is just magic, and a soft type (with little understanding) to say the least. Conclusion: I started and saw 5 episodes back in the day and didn't like (mostly because of the brother-sister relationship) I considered it a joke. Now that it started again I decided to give it a real chance since it would pop up in every recommendation... I feel I wasted nearly 10 hours of my life. I leave it with the only second thought that if it has a manga it might solve many of the story's issues. That's all from me.

I Am Vengeance: Retaliation
(2020)

one scene on repeat
The whole movie has been just a single action scene on the repeat. The only thing changing is the background. I don't think I have seen that many "macho" scenes in one movie since the 80s, dropping the gun to fight one on one, again and again.

In Darkness
(2018)

Why the love?
The movie is quite enjoyable to watch, but I have a question, why the love?! SMALL SPOILER ALERT

M. has a woman, that loves and cares about, he see her die and then learn she was with child (his child most probably). Just a few days later he meets S. (witch he was to kill) and saves her a couple of times out of pity... How did he brought himself to do it with her? when was it that he left back his tragedy and grew feelings for her enough to have sex with S. in the apartment that a few days before saw his former love die? At some point the sex just for the sex and the hot trailers need to stop. 1 star less from me.

Batman Unlimited: Mechs vs. Mutants
(2016)

Batman VS Gundam : Gundam wins
This Batman Unlimited series is going from mediocre to bad and from there to worse. Batman, the greatest detective, the smart, the ultimate human has turn into a Gundam fighter. I mean, what went wrong? What's with all this mech? Sure innovation was always part of Batman's stories but Bats was always there in center of this like a flashing bacon. As I am writing this the final battle takes place and I don't care the least. I am sad with all of this. My only hope is that it was created with the sole purpose of selling toys and is not actually where the Batman's franchise is heading.

Black Sails
(2014)

Now, that's a good series, but...
I don't want to talk about the cast that was good, I don't want to talk about the representation of the time period, it felt good, I liked it, but after all it's not like I have lived in a pirate island of the mid18th century, I don't want even to describe in detail the amazing way that this series share it's time between adventure, drama and conspiracy but it only succeeds in the first two. You can find all this in every other review. What I want to share with you is a feeling. A feeling that this wasn't supposed to be the end. I tried to see it as turnover, but still it doesn't add up. After 4 seasons I was expecting to end things in a more adventurous way, so I can't help it but feel a bit down. Don't get me wrong, I feel content with this ending. There was no cliffhanging, there were no major plot holes, everything were put in place, an awkward one but still... in place. A conspiracy theory, if I may, there was a plan for at least two more seasons (back in 3rd) but a shortage of money led to a final season (4th) with a budget shortage for a great final battle. Still, a great series, strongly recommended.

Chein kuronikuru: Hekuseitasu no hikari
(2016)

Every young person's spirit
In twelve episodes they describe the hopes and spirit of every young person out there. Good visuals, cheesy story, mediocre music and some average fights summarize the series. Is separated in three chapters (I don't know if there will be any more, I don't think so). Just gets the job done, which is to fill you with hope, enjoy yourself for four hours and merchandise the video game. Simple staff.

Stranger Things
(2016)

Extraurdinary
OK, usually I don't bother with reviews from the first seasons. I am that "holding back" guy who doesn't like to rush into believe in something. But THIS, guys, was EXTRAURDINARY! The period, perfect! The casting, good. The kids were diamonds! No more than 15 y.o. and already better than most B rating actors. But the most amazing, was the story. Aaaa smells fresh, just out of the oven! Sure the concept is known, sure some characters we have seen them before. But it's not about that. The way they put them together along with the new elements... This writer should be proud of this work! And I am lucky I got to see it. Be prepared to stay on the edge of your couch, sink into thinking, get sad and happy. Be ready to enjoy a truly good series.

DRAMAtical Murder
(2014)

Patience
If you are not patient enough to reach the sixth episode (meaning spend over an hour), don't even start. Everything that happens until the fifth episode is fast, exciting and mysterious but with no closures! Many things happened and let you hanging, others are like you skipped an episode. Personally, when I got what all this was about I decided I wasn't interested and that's why I rated it with 4 (for wasting my time). But it's graphics and writing are good. If you are patient and the concept earn you you will probably like it (although I don't know the ending to support this theory). Personally, I think 12 episodes are not enough to conclude such a deep story. Up to episode 6 there were so many questions unanswered that it would take at least 24 I think. Please share your thoughts with the rest.
