Gung Ho
(1986)

Worth a shot
This is not the greatest sit-com of all time. But it doesn't try to be. It is just a sort of funny show, very light and it is easy to watch and quite enjoyable. It shows Scott Bakula as a 20-something actor in his first TV series. The point of the show and the film it was based on was to highlight the difference in working culture in America and Japan and the difficulties faced by people working in a cross-cultural factory. I wouldn't say I learned much but it was a pleasant enough way to spend a half hour. Scott is great as the confident Hunt Stevenson and we even get to hear him sing! If you're wanting quality TV then this is not for you. But as a big Scott fan i had to see it. In fact I really did enjoy it and its something i have returned to again and again

Nowhere to Hide
(1994)

not for Scott fans!
Although i had heard this film was a little dry, I watch whatever Scott Bakula is in. At the start of this film I had high hopes for the classic cheesy but enjoyable Scott-gets-girl ending and until 20 minutes before the end it was going great. The plot twist was crazy and unexpected and very clever. I kept my fingers crossed that it would work out and it would all be some horrible misunderstanding, right up until when the credits rolled and I realised that there was not going to be a happy and contented ending. Unfortunately i was left regretting that i'd watched it and hurriedly putting on some quantum leap to restore my faith in the goodness of the Great Scott!
