Curious Caterer: Fatal Vows
(2023)

Actors do GREAT; wish Hallmark would have honored the books' storyline more
I enjoy the charisma between Nikki Deloach and Andrew Walker in these roles of Goldy and Tom. I, like others who enjoyed the books, find so many aspects of the books changed (body types, core relationships between characters (ex-husband, best friend, etc.), swapping out a daughter for a son (why?), and adding to it in this movie, that Tom cannot cook) to render the movies lacking in sub-text which was provided to them.

Even if Hallmark had just made Goldy's ex-husband grouchy (I mean his nickname was "The Jerk!" in Ms. Mott Davidson's books), it might make sense, but a pleasant, helpful, happy to see ex-husband/surgeon? It makes that whole side of Goldy's history not make sense.

Why is Tom only be allowed to be a hunk detective? I feel certain Mr. Walker could handle more! Tom's also missing the wood working skills and his can-do-it attitude, calm attitude, which is such a big part of his character in the books.

Maybe Hallmark only contracted to use some of the author's books or elements of her books? The wedding storyline was so changed, I did not recognize it.

However, I enjoyed the movie and look forward to more. Yes, things from the books were were changed and/or removed, but twists were also added to keep the interest going in the movie. You definitely do not have to be a fan of the Goldy Bear series by Diane Mott Davidson to enjoy this movie, hence my 9 - Star rating! Nicely done!

The Mistletoe Secret
(2019)

Mistletoe?
It's a cute story line, but it loses many points when the prized "Mistletoe ornament" is NOT mistletoe, it's holly! Character Aria should be able to tell the difference since she runs the Mistletoe Diner. It just made the movie go south in my opinion.

I liked the voices of all the leading gentlemen, but for me, the fluctuations in the accent of the leading lady made it hard to listen to her. From one sentence to another, she could clearly speak and also drop her g's.

Overall, I'd watch it again.

Fixer to Fabulous
(2019)

Great ideas...with one suggestion
Please, please, do not build railings with horizontal (aka climb-able) balustrades instead of vertical ones.

Y'all have great ideas, are very talented, and are extremely personable! I like your show.

Please, safety over design, always! We don't want little ones able to climb and be able to fall where the railing is supposed to protect them.

Thanks!

A Kiss Before Christmas
(2021)

Family setting felt real, believable
This has been my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie this year! It carried elements (unspoken, but felt) of A Christmas Carol, but updated with a not - so perfect (and therefore more real) family. No ghosts, but a message which was received and delightfully executed. The main stars are enjoyable as always, and I enjoyed the nod up to more seasoned actors with this movie. I enjoyed the whole movie, and the premise behind it all, and if course Hallmark's "gonna leave you feeling good ending". This one brought me to tears. Well done, y'all!

Call Me Kat
(2021)

It makes me feel good!
I have fallen in love with this fun loving quirky show with its delightful mix of characters. The way "Kat" moves in and out of the show and having a conversation with her audience surprised me at first, but now I enjoy - look forward to- those bits. I think it's great at the end of the show where the cast all return, like they would if this were live theater. It pulls me in and has me already wanting the next episode. I have about 15 years on Mayim Bialik, but enjoy the upbeat funny feeling consistently portrayed throughout each episode. Well done!

Christmas Waltz
(2020)

Delightful!
This was so enjoyable and the costumes were fun...all the way to beautiful! I loved her final gown...a perfect choice for her! The musical arrangement of the final song was awesome. Kudos to the choreographer as well as all the dancers! I'll watch it again...this season!

JL Family Ranch: The Wedding Gift
(2020)

Almost there
To me, this movie didn't flow with enough connections between the various characters. I kept being puzzled. During the movie, I started looking on the internet and found out it was a movie series from Hallmark Drama, which I don't have on my provider, so I had not seen. This then made a little more sense to me. Teri Polo and Dylan Walsh had me watching to the end because I was vested enough in their story to want to find out what happened. The main drawback was the overview background that was assumed a viewer would understand, but I didn't.

Love and Sunshine
(2019)

Great chemistry, fun storyline
I think Hallmark hit it out of the park on this one, with great casting, an enjoyable story, and a really cute dog. I was further amused by a scene with "craftsman" supposedly staining a board right next to his brother sanding another board. You wouldn't do that. The staining technique was just wrong, too and I'm a DIYer. The scene would've been so much more believable had they both been sanding boards. But it was a movie and this was only seconds of it. I enjoyed watching it, and will likely watch it again, hence the strong rating.
