  • I enjoyed this very much, both as an insight into Spielberg and as a story in itself. I cannot understand those who say it was too long. I was engrossed throughout and it didn't feel anything like 2 1/2 hours to me. The acting was superb, especially Mitzi and Sam characters.

There are lots of subtleties in the film - camera angles, reflections, still moments, music, sound - that are worth paying attention to. Also interesting moments of watching a film being filmed in a film.

If you enjoy thoughtful, reflective films and are remotely interested in Spielberg as a director, I am sure you will enjoy this.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Don't watch unless you want to feel sad. Wanted a feel good but intelligent film. This is just that until the unnecessarily sad ending. Pointless tragedy spoiled a good film for me
