I bought this DVD to see Patty Griffin's performance, but ended up having to buy a cheap DVD player that would play the PAL format disc. (Many computer DVD players will play PAL discs, so this matter wouldn't be a problem anymore) I don't regret the purchase, but be forewarned that it's an odd assembly of three different ACL shows. Personally I'd rather see the Singer-Songwriter show (Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Dave Matthews & Buddy & Julie Millers) in its entirety, then the whole Townes Van Zandt tribute show rather than the two shows intermixed. The end result strikes me as rather odd, but it's definitely worthwhile watching since the performances are so strong. Subsequently to buying this disc, I obtained a copy of the entire Singer-Songwriter show and realized how much I missed the banter between the artists on stage (the banter is largely excluded from the German DVD).

Seems sourced from a videotape BTW, so lacks real DVD quality: has a grainy look familiar to anyone who has videotaped any of the Austin City Limits shows.
