Never let Taika Waititi near MCU again. EVER! He's clearly a talented director, no doubt about that. I enjoy his previously films - Boy, What We Do in the Shadows, Jojo Rabbit, even Ragnarok - they're brilliant. But in this case, he took what should be a Superhero action MCU movie and worked in bits and bobs of nothing more than trivial, silly humour.
A joke, a quip, tongue-in-cheek teasing, a light-hearted break after hectic tension, yes, but this was just over-extended, irritating elements of crappy comedy that do nothing to add to the storyline at all.
It's as though he had a list of funny gags and was determined to fit them anywhere he could, no matter what.
