Spider-Man
(2002)

The hype is true!
My second favorite comic book movie of all time. Nothing can top Superman to me, but this came just as close as any movie can. Spidey finally gets his place on the big screen, and it couldn't have been done any better.

All I can say is, go see it. Looks like this could be the start of great things with Marvel inspired films hitting the big screen. As someone who has longed for the day when comic book movies would rule the box office, I couldn't be any happier.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
(2002)

Now that's Star Wars!
Thank you, George Lucas. You have finally delivered the film I have been waiting for since the original trilogy!

Never have I seen such a beautiful and awesome displays of magical worlds and fantastic landscapes. To those who criticize the CGI in this film, give me a break! You can't do it much better than this, unless you were filming actual locales. I have seen bad CGI, this is not it.

And Lucas has redeemed himself with a much more adult and dark dialogue and storyline. It's still a film for all ages, but you won't leave this film thinking you left a Power Rangers taping (Phantom Menace). Thanks for limiting Jar Jar's screen time!

My only complaint is the 3 year wait till the next one. This film was amazing, but the next one is the grand finale. I can hardly wait!

Nomads
(1986)

Never look at anyone the same!
Very intriguing film!

I am a supernatural horror film buff, have seen many. This film struck me as quite unique both in story and style. During the first 20 minutes I was having a hard time getting into this movie, but as the plot developed I began to really get into it. This film isn't for everyone (the person I watched it with got bored), not even all fans of the genre, but I found it quite entertaining. Give it a try. I'd like to see a Nomads 2.

Christina's House
(2000)

Most unfairly maligned movie ever?
Maybe not. But it's sure up there. I actually read the reviews here before I watched this movie, so I was expecting a real bomb. And unless there are 2 movies named "Christina's House", I don't understand how I saw the same movie as the other reviewers here.

This movie was not a great movie but it surely wasn't a bad movie either. For it's genre, 'teen slasher flicks', I thought it was a decent film. I should also mention I am not even a fan of this genre. But it kept me entertained and guessing, and I'd recommend it to anyone who is into the teen slasher genre.

**********Possible Spoiler************

My one complaint is in the dvd packaging which seems to indicate the possibility of this being a haunted house flick (which I love). Unfortunately, this got me to buy this dvd, which isn't one I would have bought otherwise.

The Terror
(1963)

Not as bad as I was expecting
First of off let me say, I saw this film on dvd, and the picture quality was the worst I have ever seen! I again caught it on cable, and the restored picture made this a different movie. If you have seen the dvd version, you may have given this movie a lot lower marks.

Anyway, even with the horrible picture quality, I really liked this little B movie nugget. Perhaps because I love a good haunted castle movie, perhaps because of the beauty of the old French landscape... or perhaps the 60s charm it has.

Whatever it is, this is not a bad movie. Recommended little escape for fans of undead movies.

Crash and Burn
(1990)

Not that bad!
Ok, this is not a great movie. But it doesn't attempt to be. It's B movie city, and for that, it's not a half bad movie.

Full Moon productions continues to impress me, with the atmosphere and great b movie schlock they can create, with a shoestring budget.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
(2001)

The Fantasy Trip of a Lifetime!
We have witnessed a fantasy masterpiece, the likes of which has never been displayed on the silver screen.

I left the theater in absolute awe. For 3 hours I was swept away into the most beautiful fantasical world of pure magic.I can't say enough good things about this film.

This is by far the finest fantasy film ever made. It's in a league of it's own, and will undoubtedly go down in cinema history as one of the most groundbreaking films.

Peter Jackson is now my new favorite director. 10/10!!

K-PAX
(2001)

I want to go to K-PAX!
*************SPOILERS*******************

First off, let me say, I really liked this movie! The acting and cinemotagraphy were superb.

But while I think, I got the ending, I am not sure. I believe Prot was an alien, and he was in Robert's body the whole time. Bess's disappearance and the fact that Prot said, "take care of Robert when I leave", leads me to believe this.

I am sure some may have a different take on the ending. I know the reviewer in my local paper did. This is one to discuss after viewing, thats for sure. The ambigious ending makes me like this movie all the more.

Planet of the Apes
(2001)

Loved it!
I am not a big fan of the original, because it tries to preach way too much. While on the other hand, Tim Burton's POTA is just plain fun!

Enjoy the fantasy world of POTA, the great makeup, and the twists and turns. Don't ruin this fantasy movie by over-thinking it's scientific flaws, sit back and enjoy!

P.S. I think we know who will be winning best makeup/costume design (whatever they call it) at the Oscars this year. :-)

The Others
(2001)

Truly great!
This is my second favorite ghost movie of all time! which would be "The Sixth Sense". I can't rave enough about this film. Happy to see it in the top 250 at IMDB.

Nicole Kidman deserves an Oscar for her performance. And I thought the little girl in this was as good as Haley Joel Osment in "The Sixth Sense". She should be nominated for best supporting actress.

Bones
(2001)

Horrible
Like the first reviewer here said, this is a mess of a movie.

It's really more of a 70's black exploitation type film than anything else. Not a genre I am a fan of.

I should have known it would stink when Snoop Dogg is the lead. The only rapper I have ever liked in a film was "Ice Cube" in "Ghosts of Mars".

Invasion of the Body Snatchers
(1978)

You'll never look at anyone the same!
Great alien invasion flick. One of my favorite's of the genre! It's one of those movies that after viewing, leaves a profound impact on your mind.

I love a good Sci-fi movie, that can make the imagination run wild. And Invasion of the Body Snatchers does just that. Still not sure my neighbors aren't some of the pod people.

The Sentinel
(1977)

The Apartment Complex from Hell!
I really liked this movie! One of my favorite undead movies of all time infact.

Don't expect a ton of special effects, but do expect some genuine chills and memorable visuals.

If you like Clive Barker-esque horror, you'll like this movie.

Scars of Dracula
(1970)

Not great, just ok
As a big fan of Dracula movies, I enjoyed this movie. That said, as an objective movie viewer, I can say this film wasn't anything great. Just ok.

Many like to rip on the later Christopher Lee Dracula film "Satanic Rites of Dracula", but I actually found that far more entertaining.

Nontheless, if you are a fan of Dracula films, this is still worth watching. Casual viewers may want to pick another Vamp flick.

The Satanic Rites of Dracula
(1973)

Not bad at all!
If you like 70's Vamp films like the Count Yorga series, you'll like this.

Not a masterpiece, like some of the other Hammer Dracula films, but it keeps you entertained throughout.

Some heavy imagery throughout, with the satanic sacrifice scenes. Also, gotta love the Vamp babes :-)

The Night Flier
(1997)

This one bites!
I am surprised at the good reviews many people have given this movie. It's a real b-movie stinker. I love a good vampire film, but this is at the bottom of the genre.

The atmosphere was non-existent and hokey. This movie had a silly plot, bad acting, no special effects, and no brooding Vampire mood to speak of (as the box suggests).

If you like a lot of senseless gore, with no real plot, this movie may be for you. Bur if you're looking for a good Vampire flick, you'll be sorely disappointed. This is straight to video garbage.
