Die Summe meiner einzelnen Teile
(2011)

The sum of all my individual parts
Yes... I think this should be the title. A literal translation from the original German title. Embrace yourself to a journey into the wild and free mind of a man who's physically restrained to a mental institution. His only escape? His imagination... The beautifulness of the storyboard. Even all those bumps his mind provokes in the story line is poetry in motion. You'll be sad... then terrible... then horrified... then comes hope... joy and finally you see yourself free... You discover where the freedom really exists. I won't tell you where, just see the movie and find it yourself... Warning: this is not a great produced/high budget movie... simple but straight to the point, that's what matters... anything else is a distraction! PS: Nothing to do with the review... but as I'm from Portugal I was also delighted to find out that this is paradise to some people. And believe me... it's paradise, come and see for yourself ;)

Jupiter Ascending
(2015)

Not as bad as most people say it is
OK, it's not the "The Matrix" or "Cloud Atlas"... If people were expecting this to be as fabulous as them forget it, it's not... Nevertheless it's a great entertaining Sci-fi movie. The actors could be more in the skin of their characters. Sometimes they seem disassociated with them. And others seem to be playing in theater houses instead of cinema... The dialogues don't help also... I know it's hard to combine a huge and almost complete new Universe with screenplay, actors and set, and don't use CGI... so you have to give it a discount. But for the special effects, action scenes and plot in general (not the screenplay) I gave this movie a 7. Like I said don't expect much from this movie...

Silver Linings Playbook
(2012)

Following the rabbit path
I just saw this movie because I was interested in seeing a movie with Jennifer Lawrence outside the action movies. I saw the "Mocking jay" saga and the X-men before this one. And I was curious because I saw in Jennifer Lawrence a talent I hadn't seen in years... I thought to myself: there's got to be more... it seemed to me that she had born with this gift of acting... so talented, I thought! Then I went to find out that she had won an Oscar!!! I'm not an Oscar's fan... but OK, let's give them a chance. And I went to see this movie... Jennifer Lawrence didn't disappoints... I lack the words to describe her work... it's really, really good, very good indeed! And now the movie: not my kind of movie but I was taken by the screenplay. Very touching, the end is what it was supposed to be. Everything in place... the actors - Robert De Niro - you're (still) the one to me! And if you're really a romantic person like I think I am, just read the review made by AdultAudienceMember (after viewing the movie). I'm not a tears guy but they came out when I read what he wrote...

Inception
(2010)

Inception - beautifulness at it's finest
For start I just want to say that this is a must to see movie. No restrictions...

I saw this movie after seeing "Interstellar". But I took interest in it far before... Pity I just saw this one today.

It's a brilliant masterpiece.

I must say I'm a David Lynch fan, which take us to another type of film-making... this one though sci-fi also takes us through layers of our own consciousness (including the director's) but in a different way - Christopher Nolan's way... which is unique! I do not intend with this to compare both but just to people who haven't seen "Inception" or doesn't know Christopher Nolan's movies to imagine what they are...

I can't forget "Memento", the first I saw from Christopher Nolan... and bring it to "Inception": just gives me the sensation of continuum...

But this one gives us the completeness... the sound track, the performance of the actors/actresses, the set, the screenplay... it's all just brilliant...

And finally DiCaprio at it's finest... I must say I didn't like some of his first performances, they always lacked something... probably a great screenplay... or director. But he grew in me the sensation of a great actor... and he's been doing it in the last 15 years and he sure didn't disappointed me with this one.

I will finish as I started: it's a must see... If you haven't seen it and want to see a real contemporary masterpiece just go...

I must tell you I've been waiting for some director to take me away again and Christopher Nolan did it... Congratulations Christopher Nolan, you did it.

Darkhunters
(2004)

The worst film ever until today
It's hard and I didn't expect it... But it's really the worst film, me and my wife saw. Awful dialogs that extend incomprehensibly through time without any apparent reason except to fill time. The storytelling doesn't follow a comprehensive intelligibly way… everything is a mess. The action and the dialogs appear at jumps. The thing that disappointed me most was to see Dominique Pinon one of my French favorite actors involved in this… uh… I don't even know how to describe it without being polite… The rest of the actors where at the most poor. Susan Paterno made a terrible interpretation of her character, making a flat inexpressive performance. Poor special effects. I don't think that it was a complete waste of film but it's close to… If I'm to say I would advise everyone not to see this movie. I think it would be a complete waste of time. Sincerely I never though I would say something like that about a movie but… there's always a first time.
